Hmm...? Thinking about the Black Knight...

Perhaps if the Achilletaur units were something more like the Dead lord's of FE4, like super evil badass units with potential back story, much like the Black Knight, instead of kind of generic overpowered Centaur units they might make more effective villains/be less segregation of gameplay and story? ...like they're some of the Demon King's most powerful servants so they take a lot of power and time to summon? ...and could potentially be out doing storyline/plot destruction in the midst of the story as an explanation why they aren't all set after the party?

Whereas with like the Nazgul or the Dead Lords... Only a limited number of powerful people/kings/heroes that have been possessed/turned into these undead monsters...

I dunno... I agree on the point that it does seem odd DK doesn't just fill the world with these guys/send them after the party all the time if he is more powerful once freed.

Maybe Moonie could have a moment of sanity from monsterization and comment to Fa about how she's sorry while Fa says sorry too before both battles.

[spoiler=interesting suggestion, also major spoilers ahead]there has to be a Demon/Deity instead of the mamkute in this hack,

Because when fa's party "realizes" that they cannot fight the demon king and his servants by just themselves

they summon/cast/invoke a unit of higher power to help them defeating the opponent and others(these max stats enemies for example)

If you go to shioris route (or if shiori has a bigger level then fa at some point in the game) she summons/invokes an angel/deity (since she is the Saint and the angel/deity does not want the demon king to rule over the world as well) and in fa's route (or if fa has a bigger level then shiori at the poinnt in the game) she casts/summons a monster/undead/demon from her remaining demon king powers from the underworld (and he/she joins fa because he/she did not like the demon king in the first place, he/she is jealous and hates the demon king for being the demon king because he/she is not the demon king)

in addition the more you use the characters in the game, the higher is the (5*level of the unit)% potential that they(after you beat the final boss) will be the final boss themselves because they betray you in the end of the game

the demon/undead/monster has the reason of that because the group has defeated the demon king, he/she will get the demonking him/herself and the group is the biggest threat for him/her

and the deity/angel has the reason for betraying that they seem to be a potential thread for the deitys and for using the sacred powers of the gods they shall be punished with death

I think this might be a neat idea

but only might, this is your hack of course

I suggest this just for the kicks

and maybe maybe april fools but im too late for that :P

Hey, my level 7 Christoph has almost as much ST - wait, why does that say POW?

Because hybrid classes use the same stat for both physical and magic attacks. So instead of having a shared Str and Mag stat, I just called both of them "Pow".

found the error! on the bottom picture the bush on the bottom should be one space over to the left.

that was fun, but i'm really enjoying the new features.

That's not a mistake, actually! Look carefully.

The real mistake has something to do with walls, but it's quite trivial. I just used the wrong tile somewhere.

One of the tile on the wall next to the staircase at bottom left on the right one. To be specific the second tile of the wall from top part, it's using a connection version where you link the left to it. lol

Not really, that one just supposes that the wall is continuing to the left. ;)

The one I'm talking about is in the little chamber in the middle, where there was the breakable wall in the previous map; there's a tile that apparently connects to the lower tile (where the breakable wall was) but that's not accurate, it should be a normal wall tile (otherwise it connects to nothing, in this case).

Yeah... sorry for the long wait.

If v.1.2 is about 25% of the final game, v.2.0 will be 75-80% of it, so it takes a lot of time to make.

Don't worry, v.1.5 will come out in the meantime. It'll be a mere 30% but it's more polished than v.1.2 and it's the only version that will be compatible with v.2.0.

Yeah, as I answered to one of the last questions of the interview (you guys can find it in my signature) v.2.0 will include most of the hack planned chapters. As such, it takes a long to make... Not only I have to make both routes to ch.16, but also a fair number of Tower and skirmish maps.

Hmm. The height difference seems fishy to me. Given the stairs, wouldn't the wooden floor be level with the top of the wall? In which case that locked room with the sniper is actually in the open air. (The sniper room is the only bit which is outright setting alarms off for me).

Apart from jumping at non-existent map errors, why do I get the impression we'll be hijacking that dangerously-close-to-being-beached ship? There has to be a reason for those enemies to be down there, which suggests to me the chapter objective isn't inside the "fortress". Or this is a Skirmish battle, in which case that theory goes up in smoke...

...Either that mercenary there has 6 move, or there's something you're not showing us off the top of the screen...

First off. YAY Ballistae boats! I loved them in FE:8 chapter 10 but they are not used beyond that so it's good to see them back. buuuut you put another boat next to it. You know from the phantom ship chapter (chapter 11) which makes the two ships look disproportional to each other. Guess that cannot be helped for gameplay purposes. The ship has to be the size of half the fort next to it.

(and I love the armor knight sprites where you can see which weapon is equipped. I didn't pay attention to this but can you see this too with the cavaliers?)

Also, you're right about the ship. The objective of this chapter is indeed "Escort the captain to the ship in X turns!"
And... that 6 Mov Mercenary isn't random. Story-wise, it kind of links to what I showed in one of yesterday's pics.

First off. YAY Ballistae boats! I loved them in FE:8 chapter 10 but they are not used beyond that so it's good to see them back. buuuut you put another boat next to it. You know from the phantom ship chapter (chapter 11) which makes the two ships look disproportional to each other. Guess that cannot be helped for gameplay purposes. The ship has to be the size of half the fort next to it.

I just can't really do anything for the size issue, at this point someone could complain about people being as big as houses or something. It's a 10 years old 2D game dudes, gimme a break XD

Thanks for the compliments anyway! Indeed Agro did a great job with those sprites.

I'm quite lazy to edit cavaliers as well tbh, and most of them carry more than one weapon rank anyway sooo...

Oh hey, it's the same discussion as over in the Bloodlines topic. Why not just think of the things as "gunboats" or something? If you think about it, a proper sized ship could hold quite a few ballistae/cannons, so this small "fleet" unit that only carries one isn't that much of a stretch.

Perhaps you could edit the sprite? Maybe get rid of the sail and add a hint of a (single) weapon - that way it'll look less like a sea going ship and more like a floating weapons platform.
