Rough sketch, needed an idea for future works, but I'm content with this, it originally was just an experiment with her figure.

Also, I know I didn't mention it, but I do requests as I'm currently lolblocked. I've done a few for Oguma and Nightmare so far, but it's not like I'm intimidating or anything, I'll try my best for a request, abstract, character, something along the lines.

Are you trying to be postmodern? If you are I'd suggest you set yourself an interesting concept. That's the only way you're ever succeeding on that area. I find it a little too hard to dig whatever you want the in/casino/out to mean.

Moving on to your Presea sketch. Her right forearm is too long, the hand is not on the right "holding position"; that axe weights at least 100kg it's ridiculous to have anything but a tight grip over it. However the problem doesn't stop there; the position of the axe is just physically incorrect. Presea NEVER holds her axe in such a way. Why? Because even if she had the strength of a huge giant holding the axe in such a way would be extremely uncomfortable and would require a huge effort from her. If you play the game again you'll notice that Presea is always dragging her axe around the floor and is only able to keep it in the air for a short period of time, meaning she'd never be able to hold it in that way while standing upstraight and with such a calm and passive expression. Also her left leg is too broad in comparison to the right one.

Postmodern, maybe, I was just trying to emulate art done previously, so the idea isn't original.

Figure has never been a forte of mine, but what you say about the axe is correct, it's only up whenever she attacks. I'll need to play it a bit again for further ideas. Appreciate the advice.

Besides being the first thread I made around here, I'm actually unsure how to start it off.

Well, about me, I like to draw, which is obvious or this thread wouldn't exist. I'm horrid with words, so onto the work.

Old stuff I drew, not FE related. I have some rather morbid stuff, so I'm unsure if it's appropriate. I won't post all of it, but feel free to edit it out if it's unsuitable.

I did this in class since I didn't feel like paying attention that day.

I was rather pissed off at an annoying classmate and did this.

Random.

away from that.

I'm really unsure what I was doing here.

This kind of stuff looks like random smatterings that you did while you were bored, and has no intention or purpose behind it. There's much more of this stuff on this thread that i can't fit. When you are serious about art, come back with a quality piece, and i'll post a serious critique.

Awesome stuff, Kiddo. Post more. I like the 1st one.

Let me take this as an example of the replies you have to ignore Will. Your stuff Will, while decent(for the levels of this forum) it is nothing close to "awesome". Am I being crude here? Yes. Am I being honest? Yes. Here at Serenes they have the terrible habit of giving "thumbs up posts". Let me tell ya: this posts kill your chances of improving. This posts make you think you're doing great when you're mediocre at best. They do not inspire any desire for self improvement. They are like iron weights that that hold you from improving as an artist. This is posts are a true example of what we casually call "bullshit". If you're smart will you'll completely ignore this single sentence posts that don't help at all. If someone over here says your stuff is "awesome" they are lying; ignore them and if possible tell them to cut the bullshit.

If you want to be a mediocre artist then by all means ignore this post. If you want to improve I suggest you find a decent place to get criticism because this ain't it.

Ok, I'm done addressing Will on his piece, a couple of posts ago. Imma opening a can of worms (and depending on my patience, it may include an ounce of whoop ass) and addressing the member base for a few seconds.

This kind of post is second to spam, and yet i see it across the entire art forum. It's posts like this that makes artist like this guy and Princess Kilvas think it's ok to post inadequate art that is well below their potential and actual abilities. It's post like this, that cause said artists and many others to stagnate in their abilities, while you guys are stroking their egos, saying it's all great.

It's posts like this that makes Deviantart and in current effect; your art board, a joke in the art community.

That being said: calling the bunch of you "cocksuckers" seems to be the adequate description. Providing nothing insightful, helpful or otherwise useful while giving "to save face" praise, solely to "keep the peace" and inadvertently feeding your own egos.

Do you kids know why both me and Fredin initially came through here? Because of 23 pages of this quality of posts that praises crap, gives no insight and really, just saves face to the awful, awful truth. It's like watching parents feed cookies and cake to their children, as their kids become overly bloated in fat tissue for their age.

For all the artists who posts here sake; stop the posing.

So bite me, bitches. Its feedback, so yeah, fuck off.

There is feedback and there is shitty feedback. Yours is on the shitty one son Besides feedback intends to give something back to the artist, you don't really give shit.

What the hell are you people doing? If you guys make me lock ANOTHER person's art topic, heads are going to roll.

I would like to note though, that I like the art, it's not refined because it was obviously done on the spot with no intention to make it a fully fleshed out art piece, but I like the style in which it was done. Perhaps if you try to seriously draw something with full intention to make it a work of art, you may be able to do very well.
