Youko
This is super awesome holy crap! Very impressive, I look forward to making my own sprites in this caliber someday. :)
Lord of Gabriel Knight
An idea for a monster lifted straight from Castlevania.
Klokinator
Just throwing this out there. FEXNA will have support for animated idles, so you could actually have a flickering ghost, no problem. Just food for thought.

Just food for thought. ROMs support that too
Klokinator
I've never seen that done before. Ever. FEXNA has this functionality, 99% sure romhacking doesn't. Edited December 16, 2014 by Klokinator
Book of Ereshkigal
Fae has an idle animation in FE6(she floats up and down a little bit before the battle starts), no other battle animations that I know of use the feature though. Lord of Gabriel Knight
I've made one before, it's earlier in the thread.

Brendor
99% sure romhacking doesn't. Yes it actually does, granted it's very rarely ever used. Wanna know how I know? Because I've made animation scripts that utilize it. There's a whole mode for it
Chocolate Kitty
Yes it's supported no it doesn't really work very well Part 9: Standing "animation" Can have more than one frame - they actually play, too! Must have at LEAST one frame, or the game will crash, though These get to play about the first 16 frames of the animation before they are interrupted issues being the timing doesn't work properly in this mode, idk why
Brendor
it's kind of finnicky but you can get it to flow correctly if you mess around with it
Klokinator
Yes it's supported no it doesn't really work very well issues being the timing doesn't work properly in this mode, idk why See, I knew it had to be something like that if it did exist at all. GBA can't even loop a cape to the end of a magic animation. No way it will run a continuously cycling idle animation.

Chocolate Kitty
Igor actually contribute, shit Cape animation is one of those unknown known things in rom hacking(and is very simple to actually do); it's just a command that you put into the script for when to start the loop and when to end it. So yes, you can do cape flow.
Lord of Gabriel Knight
One without the figure. One with the figure. For some fucked up reason, no matter how short I make the frames, Imgur always lengthens the first blur frames... Brendor
I likes it. The first one could make a beast spell animation bitchin' new avatar; very swagadelic Edited December 16, 2014 by Brendor
Ansem
did you base it off alastor from castlevania? its sweet
Lord of Gabriel Knight
Nemesis from Aria of Sorrow! I thought about doing an Alastor variant.
Klokinator
Male Valkyrie, on the way! Just change class name to Templar and you're fine. Did you ever finish this? I could make good use of it in FE8CM. fixed the detail issues everyone brought up, added a spin to the attacks, and made a new staff dodge for Ghast! I was thinking, what if I made the spin the dodge? That twirl dodge would make a good skill activation indeed, but maybe if you changed it to a skill animation, she should raise her hand and sparkles would fly around as she spun? That'd look pretty boss IMO. Alright, I'll get on that skill animation. Also, this? Edited January 16, 2015 by Klokinator
ghast
i think Gabe is using those in his personal project.
Klokinator
I hope he releases the male valk, if nothing else. I need it for perfect class balance :(
Lord of Gabriel Knight
I've actually finished the Male Valkyrie (which I will call Templar in my project), but I've given the sheet to Skitty to make the animation file. I've also given the sage to Skitty as well, but we've decided to edit the palette to make a generic version for general use. I think I will further edit the sprite into a slightly different design for the generic version as well. Thoughts? When I started working on the Male Valkyrie, I was reworking the ugly palette, but decided to go back to the one given in FE so people can easily insert. Should I redo the palettes of both Valkyries into a less repulsive one? Edited January 16, 2015 by Lord of Gabriel Knight
Klokinator
Since it's for my FE8 project and FE8 uses its own palette files on a per character basis, sounds fine to me x] Edited January 16, 2015 by Klokinator
Lord of Gabriel Knight
These are the finished sheets. Skitty will get to them when he does.
