Raven
Fucking loved Hoenn. Too much water for my liking but the land made up for it. Trumpets were already mentioned but fuck it BRING ON THE TRUMPETS
Knight
Considering you were only on the water for two badges and the Elite 4, I don't think it was that bad. I only really hated random encounters on the water, and 99 Max repels made it smooth sailing (ha, pun).
Anacybele
Fucking loved Hoenn. Too much water for my liking but the land made up for it. Trumpets were already mentioned but fuck it BRING ON THE TRUMPETS Admittedly, I really liked this music too. One of the few things I actually enjoyed in gen 3. But my favorite Pokemon tracks ever are from gens 4 and 5. lol
RJWalker
I like the water. Exactly half of the routes of water routes. Ground vs Sea. Groudon vs Kyogre. Exploring the sea was a blast for me. And repels exist.
riariadne
I don't think "repels exist" is a great reason why the water routes should instantly get a pass. That doesn't mean the actual design of the route is cool, there's just a fuckton of water and some rocks. Wow, this sure is exciting, there's so much variety! Water routes are fine in moderation, but Hoenn didn't have that, it just had a huge fucking ocean.
Ice Sage
I loved Hoenn, but Kanto will always be my favorite
