Honestly you would think he would be Mario or Master Chief with the amount of love he gets. 4chan constantly has adds that involve him. The first 2 are more than enough to make him popular as people will obviously like characters who are fun and nice but the last 2 qualities are what really makes him shoot up in popularity. He is a good natured character as well, much like popular shounen heroes like Naruto and Goku. All his lines are not only funny, but they wonderfully mock the conventions of Fire Emblem and RPG's in a lighthearted way. His level up quotes are the best in the game because it makes fun of the concept of leveling up. People have been saying that for so long now, and he seems to be the only character that hasn't slowed down yet. It's pretty crazy. I honestly think Marth, Ike, and Roy are the only Fire Emblem characters that have more popularity than him. What can I say, he's a fun character and a nice person with the ham factor and a popular class. The first 2 are more than enough to make him popular as people will obviously like characters who are fun and nice but the last 2 qualities are what really makes him shoot up in popularity. That isn't the reason he is the most famous character from Awakening. He is loved for more than just references, from agreed to being the best looking guy in the game by majority of the people that play it, too being extremely memorable with quotes that are the easiest to recognize while being a serious ham and super funny, and even being a Myrmidon helps people like him as well. I was really looking forward to getting Owain since I was hearing such good things about him like he's the best child and a very funny character. Only to get some weirdo that shouts loud and annoying strange lines like a episode of the Adam West Batman show. I think he's liked because he's found to be attractive by most female players and they find his odd sense of humor funny. So yeah I was very disappointed when finally getting him and feeling like he was hugely over-hyped. I personally enjoyed the other kids so much more than Owain like Noire, Inigo, Nah, Cynthia, Gerome and Kjelle.
