I cant find a hotkey on VBA, and going to the menu seems like a lot of effort, and requires good reactions Units allowed Prepromotes (duh) Roy Thieves Fa Elphin/Lalum Any units required for prepromote recruitment Index (continued on next post) [spoiler=Chapter 1] Where it all began, all good so far Marcus rush!!! Get to the forest!!! I guess i should be glad he got something... CRITICAL!!! TAKE IT DAMAS!!! And that's a wrap [spoiler=Chapter 2] And so the journey continues for our brave hero Trying to escape with the unpromoted, none did any damage, so its all good Bow before the weapon triangle!!! Marcus fears nothing, even the terrain! A decent level from our hero Roy never fails to disappoint In need of a heal. am i allowed non promoted healers? Your father would be ashamed BOOM!!! [spoiler=Chapter 3] Start by putting everyone in the corner, and a heroic charge An old man... Good, but still no strength About time he retires, i think Still no strength. GET YOUR **** TOGETHER ROY! And the hero faces off against the villainous Slater [spoiler=Chapter 4] Another charge MOAR HEALZ! EVEN MOAAARR HEALZZ!!! Dear god please survive! (he did... just) another level, another bit of potential wasted got some speed. can i make chad my lord now? maybe not... I was too slow, but it was defence Not too bad... [spoiler=Chapter 5] Nice bit of mountain to hide my unpromoted units behind. WOOHOO! BEST. PICKUP LINE. EVER. More luck. still no strength. Enemies shouldn't heal! So close... ChadLAD The first of many Full speed ahead! ok i guess... Maybe those mountains weren't so helpful Marcus was sent back to deal with them, but Wolt took a counter attack, and did a bit of damage. Got the mighty Gants lance Another good level from chad STRENGTH!!! AT LAST!!! Ah... the next level could be problematic now... Roy took quick vengeance on the surrounding bandits, and Marcus took a reckless charge into the enemy, despite not wielding a sword. Dodging everything! This shouldn't be too hard. Another one!!! Bandit down! [spoiler=Chapter 6] We storm the castle, with 2 warriors, a cart, and two unarmed peasants. Another charge from Marcus More skill. Can we have some strength please? Get some healz boy! YEAH! Keep this up Roy! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! Attempt one Meat shields! Merlinus got killed, but he'll be back... Number 2... Marcus saves the day, while Roy heals up. Number 3... still no joy Finally some damage! Yes Roy! Not sure where they all went... Or why, they could have destroyed me... Foolish soldiers. [spoiler=Chapter 7] Lets get that torch! YES! I retract some of my harsh words. Not all, but some. The mercs are here. Lets get it on! Snapped up Zealots, now to get him to roy. Meh No Fir, but being prepromotes only, no problem. I AM SARUMAN OF MANY COLOURS... well, blue and red really... OMIGOD!!! A FREAKIN' DRAGON. HOLY BEGEESUS HELP US!!! Hey, he's not that tough This could be close... Take that, you healing ***** Almost there... Survival bonus Aww yeah time to loot recieve gifts from villages cheeky bit of arena fighting. SO USEFUL! NO. I WANT IT BAD! KEYS. Prepromotes are actually very good in this game (no fliers until Juno for you though), so please choose Hard Mode. The bulldozer! First kill for Astol REINFORCEMENTS! shame i cant use them... Marcus gets a bit... Take on the horde! SURVIVAL! Then wait your turn, I want first loot Caths buddy kicks it Got my first talk with Cath, 2 more to go... She runs off, away from the treasure... great thieving skills... The horde continued WHEN WILL IT END?!?!?! Killer taken care of! Even more luck. Not quite what i want... meh Better... ah gots a magic sword y'all And look what it does Fairly good... [spoiler=Chapter 8x] The quest for the blazing sword begins. Merlinus stands his ground They're forming a queue for the beat down One off... Speed. I'll take it. And they're done Well done Marcus! CAVALRY CHARGE! Decent enough NONONONONONONONONONONO Storm the room! He's old, and losing his usefulness... anyways first support! Great level from Roy! Indeed... I have a feeling, come chapter 16, you won't have the same opinion [spoiler=Chapter 9] So we've landed on the western isles. Oh look, some enemies :D First kill goes to Roy We've taken the central island! Horaah! The first of two units I can't recruit this chapter... Dat Wo Dao... Poor Fir... Massive survival boost! Well, now I'm not getting any nomads this playthrough... Astol... not you too... And route B for me... Pirates! Run for your lives!!! Oh... a Berzerkiller... this should be fun... Again??? One more to go. Better be good. Done! Isn't it depressing that this is his best level this chapter? All your base are be... WAIT, WHAT? [spoiler=Chapter 10] So our motley crew have arrived at the village. I wonder what awaits them... Hmm... at least he'll survive better now... Ditto for Zealot Why do i bother? Divide and conquer! You brigands are no match for Zealot! WOHOO!!! SNIPER!! Good. SPEED!!! YES! ENEMIES TO THE REAR! ... hehehe... Another boring level for Marcus More speed. You'd think he was a thief, or something 2 men holding off all of these guys. This isn't too hard... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Meh HEALZ MOAR HEALZ All villages looted TAKE THAT BAD GUY! STRENGTH! [spoiler=Chapter 11] So I have a bard now... WOO! Doesn't even phase me anymore. It was him or Elphin Zealot charges And takes out the ballista 'Zerker down! Why don't you let me hold onto those? Quick restock of healz Forgot about the other ballista... damn... I'll just let Geese do his thing BARTRE HAS ARRIVED!!!!! Not great, but I'll take it Well... BARTRE THE BRAVE! Irysa Posted October 27, 2013 Share Posted October 27, 2013 (edited) You can bind a hotkey for it, go to the control config and set screen capture to a button. And yeah just use all the prepromos. Chapter 4 will be rather painful with just Marcus though, and you'll probably have to either accept Treck's death in 7 or use some unpromoted mounted units to rescuedrop Roy to recruit Zealot on turn 2. If you can get past 7 I think you have smooth sailing until the desert, which Echidna will probably have to do a lot of work in....if you get past that then you have Percival and he can smash the rest of it with his bases, and Niime can nosferatank all the really hard lategame enemies he would have trouble with, like Wyvern Lords. Is it possible to beat bosses without Dieck/Rutger? Marcus has great luck and skill and will easily get to C or better Swords if he's soloing. None of them are unusable, but other than Percival, you don't really get any prepromotes who just wreck everything like you do in the other GBA games. Marcus and Zealot are good, but short-term. The Snipers are good but are Snipers and can't take EP combat. Echidna/Bartre are decent but nothing on the level of, say, Harken or Geitz from FE7. Percival is admittedly very good. Cecilia can mounted staffbot, but her combat leaves much to be desired. Garret is kind of terrible, and Douglas has 5 movement and never doubles anything ever. Niime is good but more as a Warper than an actual combat unit (I've never found her Nosferatanking to be very reliable). Juno can fly but her combat sucks, and tbh I've never used Dayan but glhf in Sacae if you want him. Karel is OK but no Athos. Compare that to FE7 where you have prepromos coming out of the wazoo. Looking into it some more, there are plenty of almost-prepromotes, i.e. characters who can hardly be called growth units, but promoting whom early is advisable for an efficient run - Noah, Rutger, Miledy, Shin, Tate. Garret is actually pretty decent if you can throw him on a peak, he will bait fliers and stuff really easily and be nearly untouchable. He has trouble hitting back but I think he's better than "terrible. Douglas is invincible for most of midgame, which is generally irrelevant but he can block a choke or just tank reinforcements if neccessary. He won't hit anything and never double though. You shouldn't underrate Niime's combat. She needs to do quite a bit of combat to get to Apocalypse anyway, and if you give her some statboosters and put her on a fort/forest she has a pretty low chance of death with nosferatu. And being able to berserk/silence crucial enemies with 100% hitrate kinda counts as combat <_< I'm still really worried about chapter 14 for this though. And 14x if he goes there. I don't think Echidna can handle all those mercenaries and heroes (Marcus and Zealot will get doubled unless they proc a lot of speed) and no flier on 14x AND no warper is like a death sentence on HM. Irysa Posted October 27, 2013 Share Posted October 27, 2013 (edited) Hmm. I was going to say use Saul since he can make it to Warp for 14x on time but I'm not sure if he can without the promotion. Then again I guess you're slowing down a lot. Not having warp or a flier for 14x just makes me go D: since its entirely reliant on both the boss and bolting sage missing together and they have pretty good hit. I'm pretty sure they will KO anyone if they both hit even if you have everyone with barrier/pure water. EDIT: Derp you get Cecilia so technically under your rules you can't warpskip that map. IDK man, I think you can buy vulneraries in chapter 2, maybe go back and redo that and buy some more with merlinus.
