MacLovin
Digimon World Dawn/Dusk are RPGs for the DS made back in 2007 or 2008. I'm not good at explaining the mechanics, so I'll list a few things. -There are 8 "attributes" and 8 species; this is similar to pokemon in a few ways but a bit simpler. -Digimon can learn almost any move, but it's probobly not worth the effort of straying from the main digivolution path it was on. -It's full of fetch quests and bosskilling, but the good part is the fact that you can exit areas and redo them. -Digimon are also sorted by the stat spread they have, like "balance", "HP", "speed", etc. -You get "species exp." by defeated digimon. The type of exp you gain corresponds to the digimon you've defeated. - I'll hold off some of the details for now. Anyways, here's the rundown on the "starter digimon". Dawn Coronamon- It's a balance type that's available in every Dawn starter pack. Although it doesn't branch off into any other digimon lines, it comes at a high level early on and remains solid forever. It's mega form picks up a few support moves to help too! The "balance" pack Puttimon* - Salamon - Gatomon - Angewoman - Ophanimon L Kudamon# - Reppamon - Tyilinmon - Sleipmon| L Starmon - SPStarmonL PwnChssmnW - KChessmonWH - BPChessmon - KingChessmon Puttimon can't be accessed until postgame, so you'd have to stay with the main line. Koromon - Agumon - GeoGreymon - RiseGreymon - SN Greymon | | L DSGreymon# | L Greymon - MetalGreymon - WarGreymon L DotAgumon* The greymon line has more crit while the geogreymon line has holy attribute moves. The "attack" pack Gigimon - Guilmon* - Growlmon* - WarGrowlmon - Gallantmon#| L BWGrowlmon L Megidramon*L Tyrannomon - Triceramon - Cannondramon* Requires Guilmon# Requires Megidramon Guilmon has the strongest start out of all the starters, but it's fairly frail. SnowAgumon - SeaDramon - MSeadramon - MESeadramon L GigaSeadrmn* * Requires GigaSeadrmn Water Attribute attacks are nice early on. The "speed" pack Chibomon Chart Chibomon* - Veemon - ExVeemon | L Veedramon - ARVeedremon - Goldramon# L Monodramon - Dinohumon - Cyberdramon - Justimon L Airdramon# - Megadramon - Darkdramon * Requires Chibomon # Requires Airdramon You start off with Airdramon, so it's already recorded as "befriended". [More on this later] No comment, it's a very balanced line and chibomon is availible midgame. Chichimon Chart Chichimon* - Penguinmon - Kiwimon - Deramon - Phoenixmon | L Kokatorimon L Muchomon - Diatrymon - Sinduramon# L Akatorimon - Parrotmon - Eaglemon * Requires Chichimon # Requires Sinduramon You don't get Chichimon until postgame, so you'll probobly end up with Eaglemon later on. The NIPPON pack Puttimon* - Salamon - Gatomon - Angewoman - Ophanimon L Kudamon# - Reppamon - Tyilinmon - Sleipmon | L Starmon - SPStarmon L PwnChssmnW - KChessmonWH - BPChessmon - KingChessmon * Requires Puttimon # Requires Kudamon You start with Kudamon. On one hand, Kudamon's natural mega form is a fricking Royal Knight. [it's got power on par with Omnimon and Imperialdramon and Gallantmon] On the other hand, you WILL be degenerating alot. But the end result is a royal knight so it's worth it. Biyomon ChartBiyomon - Birdramon - Garudamon - GryphonmonL Saberdramon - Karatenmon You're kinda forced to hit the saberdramon line for awhile. Either route isn't bad, but I seriously think Bird digimon are a little underwhelming. Dusk Lunamon It's a balance type. It's a dark species and has access to water attribute moves early on. While it's there early, it's not as combat proficient as it's counterpart in Dawn. However, it gets healing moves. The balance pack Wanyamon - Gaomon - Gaogamon - MGaogamon - MRGaogamon | | L DMGaogamon* L Leomon - GrapLeomon - SaberLeomon L Kumamon - Grizzmon - Monzaemon - Babamon | L Pandamon# L Mojyamon - Mammothmon - SMammothmon * Requires DMGaogamon # Requires Pandamon Solarmon - Clockmon - Knightmon - Alphamon* L BomberNanimon - Giromon * Requires Clockmon Holy shit this pack has a great lategame. Oh and Kumamon's natural mega is Babamon. ##Logic The defense Thwomp Pack Minomon - Wormmon - Stingmon | L Snimon L Tentomon - Kabuterimon - MKabuterimnR L L SYanmamon L MKabuterimon L Kunemon - Yanmamon L Flymon - Dinobeemon* - IPDramonDB L Sukamon - Garbagemon * Requires Dinobeemon Tsumemon* - Keramon# - Kurisarimon# - Infermon - Diaboromon# | L ArgomonUT - ArgomonMG L Dracmon - Sangloupmon - Matadormon - Piedmon@ * Requires Tsumemon # Requires Keramon @ Requires Piedmon and requires Puppetmon We have the option of Imperialdramon and Diaboromon/Argomon. [Argomon's a movie villain] Funky. Shame that they take so long to get. The attack pack Botamon Chart Botamon - BlackAgumon - Monochromon - Vermilimon - BW Greymon | L DKTyrannomn - SkullGreymon* - MachDramon# | L METyrannomn L Candlemon - DKLizardmon - Volcanomon L Flarerizamon * Requires SkullGreymon # Requires MESeadramon Tsunomon - Gabumon - Garurumon - WGarurumon - MGarurumon* | L JMojyamon L Goburimon - Ogremon - WGarurumonB - Gulfmon L Minotarumon - Etemon - MetalEtemon L Nanimon * Requires Gabumon MACHINEDRAMON and Gulfmon or one half of Omnimon. fuckit. Machinedramon is so cool, but MESeadramon doesn't appear until lategame iirc. The PRETTY pack Wanyamon - Gaomon - Gaogamon - MGaogamon - MRGaogamon | | L DMGaogamon* L Leomon - GrapLeomon - SaberLeomon L Kumamon - Grizzmon - Monzaemon - Babamon | L Pandamon# L Mojyamon - Mammothmon - SMammothmon * Requires DMGaogamon # Requires Pandamon Tanemon - Palmon - Togemon - Lillymon | L MoriShellmon L Aruraumon - Weedmon - Blossomon | L Woodmon - Cherrymon L Floramon - Veggiemon Both kumamon and tanemon can be gotten early on through other means, so this option of kinda underwhelming. I will say that PANDA RANGER SENTAI looks cool. I'll put a poll up for you guys to vote on which version and which pack I'll use. Edited November 1, 2013 by Esme. Espinosa
How come they let you get an Ultimate digimon that early?
JSND Alter Dragon Boner
They will be reverted to Rookie early on, forcing the main digimon to become a "Jeigan" of the team, esp since Coronamon kinda falls off in late game And they also provides you with a "free Jeigan" if you know(and I mean know literally) your stuff It might make a good challenge to use an Action Replay to inflate your exp gain to evolve the main digi(Coronamon and Lunamon?) to make the early game much harder. And surprisingly the early game of these two games are pretty freaking difficult >_> Either way the Nihon pack and Guilmon pack is clearly the best for Dawn, while Dusk best pack is so lopsided its not even funny I vote use Patamon lol Edited November 1, 2013 by Choujin Sentai Chesnaught
Garland Chaos
Try Dawn and go with the speed pack so you can double pretty much everything.

MacLovin
If I do Dusk, the Angels will be virtually unobtainable. Dusk doesn't have a way to fill the 70k Holy exp the angels mega forms. Dawn's specialties are Holy/Dragon/Aqua/Bird, while Dusks is Dark/Beast/Machine/InsectPlant
JSND Alter Dragon Boner
Isn't Seraphimon the only one with that ABSURD HEXP requirements? I thought you can abuse sidequest for the EXP

MacLovin
stats are relevant. the lategame bosses get mean and you'd want to have a decent amount of HP. if there are enough Dawn votes, then Patamon is more or a less a given; if there are more Dusk votes then it's going to be DemiDevimon->Zanbamon/Myotismon. To be fair, there is a way to get a jagen 'mon through a password. [These guys fall off like fe4 Oifaye in the lategame]
