Despite being the most critically well received 3DS and nintendo game of the year according to metacritic by reviewers(though they don't have Mario 3D world yet), it was not nominated in the best Handheld (I've never even heard of Tearaway before) or Nintendo game category(I don't think Rayman should really be up there). http://www.polygon.com/2013/11/18/5118770/spike-vgx-award-2013-nominees-announced While the spike VG awards are by and large a joke, this is still a good sign for the franchises reputation.
