Wizard Posted December 22, 2013 Share Posted December 22, 2013 Heya!I was wondering if you guys would be interested in a free-form fantasy RP, set in a D&D-esque world.Standard rules for free-form RP would apply, but if you don't know about free-form, I'll tell you about it here.-Rules for this RP-1. Battles do NOT involve any stats of any kind, but you can't be overpowered. E.G: You can't just kill everything in a single hit, or anything like that, and you can't do weird stuff like fly or cheat death when in circumstances that would ordinarily kill any normal character, such as getting stabbed through the neck or being set alight with no magical protection that has been mentioned earlier.2. Characters can be anything you want them to be, basically, but as this is a fantasy setting you can't have light-sabers or ray-guns. Sorry. You also can't have god-like powers, unexplained abilities to fly, or immortality.3. Unless it has been discussed before hand, and agreed upon, player characters can't kill other characters. A player character can die in other ways, however, such as in a battle against a villain.4. We can make stuff up as we go along, but a set of locations should be decided upon beforehand. We would all start off in an area called 'Grimsdeep', a port-town filled with thieves and crime next to the Onyx Ocean. Player characters could arrive by ship, arrive from other towns or start off as a civillians. They could know each other already, or not know each other at all.5. Be BALANCED. As in, you can't be the master of every single weapon, or know every single spell. Also, if you wield a combination of things- say, you use magic AND weapons- you can't be the best in the group at either, if that makes any sense.Okay, now I'll give you some basic info about the world.As this is a D&D-esque in its setting, there are wizards, rogues, warriors, druids and the like. Has a thirst for knowledge. Can be kind, but is somewhat oblivious to the emotions of others. Appearance: (Human) A young man, of slightly below average height. Has mid length white hair, which occasionally gets in his eyes. Has several tattoos to channel his magical powers, and wears a dark blue hooded robe with white lining. Biography: Was sent to a renowned magical academy in his youth, but was expelled for a lack of ethics and morals. In truth he was not an unethical person, but believed that the ends justify the means. He traveled extensively, finding many texts on the use of ancient magic, which was frowned upon by the mages in official institutions. He came to Grimsdeep in search of a particular set of ancient scriptures. Skills: Dark magic (Conjuration, cursing, necromancy etc.), Fire magic, Sword (Used in conjunction with magic more that as a weapon in it's own right), decent understanding of languages, Physically unremarkable and weak compared to warriors. Has a strong sense of justice, despite being a thief.Appearance: (Human) A slim, tall young man with dark, messy hair that reaches half-way down his neck. He wears dark leather armor, and a hooded, dark-coloured cloak that conceals his appearance, mostly. Is about twenty-years old. Has a scar that runs from his left eye, diagonally down the cheek to his chin. Wears leather gloves to cover burns, which came from when his family's house was burned down in Grimsdeep.Biography: A local of Grimsdeep. He had to steal for his family to survive in the unforgiving town. His family's house was burned down by a group of corrupt politicians who were given a tip-off on him stealing from their houses. The fire killed his whole family, and burned Logan's hands. After this event, he lives in the ruin of his house. He still steals to survive, and occasionally helps innocent people who are getting attacked in the alleyways of Grimsdeep.Skills: Picking locks, sneaking, using short blades, keeping a poker-face, gambling and acrobatics. Appearance: (Snow Elf) A tall, skinny elf with short blonde hair that spikes out. Wears a dark blue robe, with the crest of his family emblazoned in gold on it. Looks as though he is around 24, but his real age is closer to 344. Has pale skin and bright blue eyes. Although he is tall and lean, he lacks in muscle and endurance Biography: A noble snow elf from far away lands, Lemuel was given a remarkable education, before being sent on the traditional nomadic journey that all elves travel on their 340th birthday. While on his trip, he was severally injured in an accident. He took refuge in Grimsdeep, and he has not left since (even though his injury has long since healed).
