peener weener
Story album. Quiet, sad. Highly recommended. every time i listen to this album i like it a little less. maybe if the mastering wasn't so awkward, and the vocals were better. it also strikes me as emotionally manipulative at times. i guess maybe it's time to listen to it again. Dwarfishh
[spoiler=Deaf Havana-I Will Try (Rock, with mild folk influence)] Love deaf havana, seeing as how all of their albums have a distinctive personality and sound, separate from the others. The first one is pretty much hardcore punk, and the third is really bluesy and folky. Plus the singers voice is beaut! [spoiler=The Wonder Years-The Devil In My Bloodstream (Pop punk, but better)] The Wonder Years are one of the few pop punk bands who actually write about interesting stuff, as opposed to the generic 'WOO! BOOZE & CHICKS!' party music, which I do like, but this is on a whole other level. Edit: Just wanna point out my soundcloud link in the sig... I've got some covers coming up in the next few weeks, on the off chance anyone's interested. Edited May 29, 2014 by Dwarven Darkness
intergalacticoh
Really started to love Sugar Ray and Weezer this past semester. Anyone got recommendations for other bands like those? I guess they're kind of alternative/rock?? My friend calls them "stoner bands." Anyway, Gold Motel is my favorite indie band. I'm also partial to The Black Keys, Muse, Fun, Lupe Fiasco...yeah. Dijon Mustard
and the hypest song ever Spoiler () https://soundcloud.c...uicy-j-2-chainz This is amazing and I love it. The Wonder Years are one of the few pop punk bands who actually write about interesting stuff, as opposed to the generic 'WOO! BOOZE & CHICKS!' party music, which I do like, but this is on a whole other level. Pop-punk isn't something I know much about, but I remember being into "There, There" by these guys. Cool narrative/storytime-y vibe. Anyone got recommendations for other bands like those? I guess they're kind of alternative/rock?? My friend calls them "stoner bands." This song sounds a bit like Weezer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frawo3M3qk8 Edited May 29, 2014 by BuddyBoy
