I disagree. Malon isn't in any way a fighter (Agitha isn't either, but she did have something to base a moveset off of: bugs. Malon has nothing) and has no basis for any kind of moveset. Pipit and Ashei are actual warriors. And OoT has more than one rep, so I can certainly see Agitha + Ashei for TP and Pipit + Groose for SS.

I don't know about you but I could imagine Malon wielding a Pitchfork or Spear, or using a rope. Something like that.

Though that merchandise looks really cool. Especially the Alarm Clock.

The Malon comment was clearly in regards to "even Malon", meaning she of course has less chance than Saria, Groose and Nabooru. Those three alone throw Malon, Ashei and especially Pipit out of the water. Although in defence of Malon - not that I think she'll be in or anything, creating a moveset from nothing has already been done for Agitha, Ruto and Fi. If Link's final fighting style is masks like people predict, then there'd be an open position for a character that uses horseback (in this case, Epona). Malon fighting on Epona would be great and it's not like people will complain if they project Cremia's archery skills onto Malon anyway.

So you're basically saying OoT can have a bunch of characters while SS and TP can only have one? That makes no sense.

Pipit has just as much chance for an SS rep as Groose and Ashei has just as much chance as any other possible second TP rep.

This game... When it was announced I thought the idea was cool but didn't love the graphics or gameplay. E3 totally changed my mind, and now that I've looked a bit into the Dynasty Warriors series it seems the braindead enemies are only on easy mode. Totally want to buy a Wii U when it comes out. Btw does anyone know if there will be a bundle?

Characters I still want are the rest of the OoT sages, Groose, the resistance members from TP, AGAHNIM AND SAHASRAHLA, Kafei, Fierce Deity (and Majora?), Vaati, Malon or Romani, Marin, the oracles, Ralph, Ravio and Hilda, and probably others I forgot. XD Zelda just has so many cool characters I want to play as!

The fans aren't even the weird weapons nowadays.

We now have a towel and a bench...

I mean, I'm not *THAT* big of a Dynasty Warriors fan because I've only played it at my friends' house... but people presuming a character can't get in because of "lack of weapons or fighting ability" is kind of... moot.

My favourite weapon so far are the gloves just from the footage. Love how Link just randomly grabs that black rock from OOT out of nowhere and starts spinning around with it.

I see... and I agree, though the bit about the newer weapons was just to add to the point.

personally I prefer the torpedo

Heh, that is a pretty cool weapon.

Even with all those exotic weapons though, I'm a sword guy myself.

Same, I really like the power gloves, this makes me wonder if you can increase the range of the weapons or are we stuck without range enhancements?

the more videos i see of this game, the more pumped i am to play it. This game looks hilarious and a lot of fun. Though smash 4 on the 3ds comes out like a week after or something. Have they stated if there was going to be online for this? I assume there will be.

There was a demo in Paris that supposedly had online co-op, and the newer dynasty warrior games (7, 8) have it, so I don't see why not. Dynasty warriors games are always fun even though the common complaint is that "push square forever hurr".

Not really that into Zelda myself, not like I have a Wii U either, but it looks good enough.

For anyone who hasn't played the Warriors games though there has always been two big problems that are probably still not fixed: enemies tend to be "invisible" sometimes because there's too many enemies on the screen, so sometimes the game will hide enemies and make them reappear. The second is that framerate is usually an issue.

I'm a Wing Zero kind of guy myself.

Seriously, they can get creative with this kind of game.

It makes you feel like a badass.

If you can say "ORE WA GUNDAM" in a Dynasty Warriors game... it just means the sky's the limit.

I'm just glad the Zelda fans will be able to try this.

Just like the previous hype for SMT x FE would get the fans of either franchises into the other.

If I recall, there is no online for this game.

I'll try to confirm that later.

I see what you did there.

I feel the exact same way about this actually.

I'm looking forward to see if KT and Nintendo do any more collabs like this.

A bunch of characters? If Saria and Nabooru get in (whom are much more fitting than Ashei or Pipit will ever be), that's only two more characters than SS and TP, not a 'bunch'. And heck, that's assuming both of them don't have a character hiding still, which is obviously not the case.

If OoT, SS and TP have only a single representative unrevealed, I'll say for certain that Groose has a lot more chance than Pipit does (I have no clue why you'd put them on the same level) and Ashei has about as much chance as Auru, Shad or Rusl. Really, the only distinct reason to choose her over Shad or Rusl is that she's female. Although out of them, I'd put my money on Ashei only because she's more popular with the fans.

Rather, I want to know if Majora Mask will get any other representation apart from being an attack with the hookshot.

Why is it that character representation is always a thing?

It's the same crap as in the SSB4 thread.

Just take it as a spin off and be happy whoever gets in?

I mean, the gameplay isn't even guaranteed to be something Zelda fans will enjoy.

In fact, it'll probably have some fans complaining like all hell just like what happened with Awakening.

How is Saria more fitting than Ashei? She's an eternal Loli with no on-screen fighting ability. Ashei on the other hand, is part of the group that helps Link in the final area of Twilight Princess. So in terms of "who's the most fitting", Ashei trumps Saria by miles.

Really, the only distinct reason to choose her over Shad or Rusl is that she's female.

You obviously haven't noticed this, but the vast majority of playable characters in this game are female, with only two of the playable cast being male (namely Link and Darunia). And since dudes are in the minority here, I would think that it would be the other way round.

yeah so like soc said if you are used to characters being chosen for their worth or popularity from SSB or otherwise, koei has something to say about that

considering there already is a fake vocaloid oc in the game

same thing happens with the Mario Kart community. It's pretty amusing to watch really.

And as we know with vocaloids... things happen.

"When you’re just scrolling and then you suddenly find porn"

tumblr_inline_n997aoZX481rbiqmj.gif

"When you scroll down and you keep seeing more and more"

tumblr_inline_n99r5inE3b1qcfsyl.gif

"What makes this so accurate is the amount of cocks"

Anyways... I am looking forward to Zelda Musou... both as a Zelda fan, and someone who likes Dynasty Warriors.

I appreciate my friends who are fans taking the time to introduce me to it.

And from that, I know for a fact it is not for everyone.

The gameplay... and all that.

And here we are, having Zelda fans argue character representation already.

It'll be hilarious when people who keep arguing get their hands on the game and brush it off because they simply do not like the "Dynasty Warriors" aspect of the game.

...The sad part is I see this happening when we see actual development on SMT x FE.

No offence, but it's quite clear the characters aren't chosen for ability to fight. Although there's no way to say for certain what decides the roster, from the current one we have, it's likely plot importance, recognition of the characters, popularity and appeal. Going by your logic, Ashei is more fitting than Ruto, Fi and Agitha. Saria has more plot importance than Ruto, Agitha and especially Ashei. In fact, if it weren't for Lana's second weapon to be the stick with using the Deku Tree/sapling, I would think Saria would be a very likely candidate. However, with it belonging to Lana, I don't see her playable.

Logically, yes. Actuality? No. Very little people care for Auru, Shad and Rusl, despite being equal in plot importance to that of Ashei. Why? Well, that's something for you to make your own conclusion for it. Ashei clearly appeals to the larger audience when compared to the rest.

I agree, the problem in both cases for me is people 'expecting' characters. As much as I think Groose will be in it, I will not be let down if he's not, but I know there'll be a whole bunch of people upset over this. Similarly, people will be upset over Skull Kid being excluded or Link's last fighting ability not being masks/Fierce Deity.

And here we are, having Zelda fans argue character representation already.

You and a few others are acting as if this is a bad thing. There's nothing wrong with a debate, the problem is with certain people it gets out of hand. They eventually boil down to personal insults, etc. Which is not the case here.

If you don't think character representation is an interesting discussion, then ignore it. The problem isn't the discussion here, it's you. I for one find it an interesting discussion regardless and will keep doing so.

Another thing, do we know just how many characters will be playable in Hyrule Warriors? If not, it's perfectly possible to have just about everyone that's been brought up as good possibilities. Ashei, Pipit, Groose, Saria, Malon, AND Nabooru. Kafei from MM sounds like a possibility to me as well. He could use the masks since he wears one of them. He'd also add to the low number of guys.

I've seen some speculation that there's five characters left to be unrevealled since on their site there's only space for five more slots in the playable category. Although I think they just edit the size of the page when they need to.

Just letting you know that it doesn't actually matter. I don't care about whatever you choose to debate, even if it is pointless.

For reference Dynasty Warriors 3 had over 30 characters and yet the One piece warriors game had around 13 playable, so it's all over the place. Edited by Tryhard

I see. And yeah, they could just edit the size of the page. I believe the Smash site has been doing that, so yeah.

We'll just have to find out when the game comes out. I wish they had the site in English though. >.>

I'd wish for Vaati and Ezlo to be in this game, but they only seem to be taking characters from the 3D Zeldas. Ezlo was a hat for most of his role in The Minish Cap anyway. But I hate how the Four Sword Zeldas are generally ignored. :(

If I recall correctly, there was a chance of a sequel (assuming this one does well?). I think it's a possibility for Vaati to be in the sequel - he's pretty deserving. Although, I actually can't imagine what some of the WW-style characters would look like in the current Hyrule Warriors art style. Then again, they did put Beelde in Skyward Sword.

Ezlo in his true form would look pretty cool, methinks. He's akin to Rauru in that he's an old sage type guy. He also has a staff of some sort. His true form isn't that big a spoiler either since you get to see it in a flashback long before the end of the game.

Another problem with the Four Sword games though, is that they don't have many notable characters. Besides Link and Zelda, there's really only Vaati and Ezlo. Sure, The Minish Cap has a buttload of NAMED characters, but none of them are notable in any way except for Swiftblade, perhaps, since he teaches Link a few sword tricks.

There's the human incarnations of Din and Farore who might make it in (Lana is most likely Lanayru). They could end up using the Minish Cap designs. But the reason why Minish Cap and Four Swords doesn't get touched upon too often by Nintendo is likely because Capcom made them under Nintendo's license. So while the games are considered canon, they aren't 1st party games.

Personally, I want to see Rauru, Saria, Nabooru (to fill out the OoT sages), Malon/Cremia, Anju (cuccoo attacks anyone?), Medli, Makar, Daphne, Ashei, Vaati, and Groose. I likely won't see all of them but if I had to pick out three, I would say Makar, Groose, and Nabooru are the three I want to see the most.

Edit: Somehow two REALLY obvious choices slipped my mind. Skull Kid and Tingle.
