NolanEdwardfFTW
Hey guys. I'm a little new to Serenes Forest, but I've been a FE fan for quite awhile. Does anyone agree with me that someone smart should program a Fire Emblem emulator for online multiplayer on PC? I live in a small town where only a few people I know actually play FE, but I think it would be cool to play multiplayer with other FE fans online. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only multiplayer I can think of in existence of FE is Shadow Dragon and that game was not made very well. Post your thoughts below, Thanks! NinjaMonkey
There was the Link Arena in the GBA games. Anyway, I think that Fire Emblem is better off suited to being left as a single player game.
Knight
Shadow Dragon/New Mystery have the best multiplayer of any of the games, but that's not saying much, at all.
Jotari
Online multiplayer would be cool but the issue I think would be about training the units. Would you have ultimate, max stats units going against each other? Would you have to train up a team up on a single player campaign? Or perhaps some way of loading in data from the official game. It certainly would be fun and interesting to play but I think balancing it would be an issue. Then again a lot of people here have managed to successfully pull off online, on paper, multiplayer so to speak using stats from their in game units. However I believe that's only like the link arena where everyone can attack anyone. I don't know if anyone's been ambitious enough to fully construct maps for the idea. Superfan959
I always thought it would be cool if they made a sort of system where you have to allocate a set number of "points" to pick amongst varying generic units and equipment, to the point where you'd essentially be setting a lineup. I'm not sure how this would incorporate the main game though.

It may work better in a game like X-COM, where stat growths are fixed (barring a specific gamemode), but one of the two Tellius games had a fixed growths mode, right? It could be like that. NolanEdwardfFTW
Yeah I guess there would be some logistical problems, but it would take a lot of time to develop. To bad Nintendo doesn't put much stock into online multiplayer for FE :p I just think it would be cool to face other people and different strategies as opposed to the cpu (which is still really fun).
