Find out the plan in Chapter 5! Which is right here! CHAPTER 5 - Nothing of any interest happens Alright, before the chapter starts... Djambo is on our team now! Ross is literally one of my favorite units EVER, so I hope that Djambo can live up to the Hype. He's got decent bases... except that he starts at Lv. 6 Rebel. Unfortunately, that means that he's got that many less levels to take advantage of his growths, and I think it makes him a little worse than Andre. However, he should grow into our best Axe user... so he'll be sticking around. Alright, this chapter starts off back in Hoikade, with what may be our first "villain talk". For those of you who haven't played, I will not spoil how (in my opinion) awesome this chapter is... until we get there. :D Back to this bitch back in the kingdom of Whorikade. Moonie: Understood. Let him in. I dunno if anybody else noticed, but most of the recolors have names that are anagrams of the original! Like, Saai was once Aias! Pretty cool, huh? M: Please tell me what you know, Saai. Saai: The Vassal has entered Lazulis. M: We’ve failed then. We couldn’t stop Fa… the Demon King in time. S: My apologies. I’ll take responsibility. M: That won’t be necessary, Commander. What’s the condition of the troops? Oops. S: When the main army arrived, the Demon King was nowhere to be found. Since we didn’t engage her in combat, the condition of the elite soldiers is good. However…. M: However? S: Strange creatures have been sighted around here since yesterday night. Whoops. M: What? If that’s true, then… The Demon King could have recovered most of His power already. The person we’re waiting for hasn’t arrived yet. F: It’s not a problem, Rya. I’ll use this time to make sure that everything is ready. Alright, this chapter doesn't look so tough! An armory, some houses, should be nice! NEXT TIME - Spoilers, its not! AND FINALLY GROWTHS Djambo HP 90 Pow 55 Skl 40 Spd 45 Luck 50 Def 35 Res 25 Well... these are actually REALLY GOOD. He's got really good growths in everything except the defenses, and even then his Def is high for a fighter. The main problem is that he starts with 0 Res, and it's hard for him to gain anymore. He does start at level 6, and (not including Chapter 5 and 5x), has 3 chapters to train up. It's not like, say, Ewan or Nino, who could come late in the game and be nearly impossible to train. However, our last trainee will be impossible for right now, so she'll just have to sit on the sidelines until the next patch. As you can see, I brought Menmus along. It'll become obvious soon... very soon... Whoa. This guy... He looks like a boss. BTW, this next conversation is so funny... it's hard to cut anything out! F: Er… nice to meet you, miss… Uh-oh. And a sassy one at that. *snaps fingers* Sassafrass, you're treading on thin ice here... Schwarz is my favorite-est character of ALL TIME. It's no different from Lunatic + in Awakening, or even hard mode in FE7, where you a have a pretty specific way of moving around. Moreover, it takes some time for the Vassalage to be prepared as well. But since the seal of the Demon King is broken, we dont have time to waste. Dammit Shiori! I just love the testing and trying to figure stuff out... and there's really no trial and error, except for the red houses. Next up! Chapter 5x! I cant believe that the Queen got permission to cross Lazulis borders! Shiori: Its impossible in fact. whoo boy. Things are REALLY starting to heat up around here... Shiori: I know it sounds crazy, but its what I can tell from those soldiers malice. Ceapana: This is a declaration of war! Are they going that far for the Vassal!? Captain Weiss: It seems so. What do we do, Shiori? Shiori: Isnt it obvious? Were going to stop them. We cant let them reach Faratrass. Yeah, Weiss? So? YOU CAN TAKE EM Captain Weiss: And you want to stop it alone!? Now, the only people who possess malice resembling that of a leader Two paladins and a General. I tried once... got him down to no Elixirs, and 14 Hp! But then, my last weapon broke.... DAMN YOU ALFREEEEDDDDD Ceapana: Two of them will be enough, anyway. Shiori: They havent seen us yet. Well make a surprise attack. Weiss, Ceapana, Im counting on you. Alright. Here we are. 3 vs. A lot. Here's the man himself. He's got an impressive array of weaponry... and decent stats. But he is a TANK. Cavaliers can use all sorts of weapons... and I will be taking advantage of that fact A LOT. My goal is to solo this map essentially with him.... get him to Level 20. HE CAN DO IT HE IS A BEAUTIFUL CREATURE AND WEISS WILL FOREVER BE MINE I WOULD PAINT HIM LIKE A FRENCH GIRL IN A HEART BEAT Next up is Ceapana. She comes with alright stats, a little weak on defenses... but eh. Her real catch is that Trobadour's can now use swords. It really adds to their functionality! I really like that Alfred did not give us any "defenseless" characters, such as a cleric. Even the healers can attack! That said, she comes with a Mend, a Barrier, and her own special sword. Just in case Weiss needs some help. Shiori is the same, so... on to the Bosses! Your general fare... not too strong, can take a few hits blah blah blah. I don't know if it's by accident, but Paladins can't use swords. Kinda a hinderance for these guys... Here's the main attraction. This guy can pack a PUNCH. I've gotten him to the point where he can't attack anymore... but GODDAMN GIANT SHIELD. Plus, that Soul Mirror is really tantalizing... guess we'll have to pick it up later. :/ Oh, and by the way? Don't even THINK about trying to take him out. It's 99% impossible now. And finally... here's this house. I can't tell you what's inside yet... but it's well worth your time. Anyways... NEXT TIME Weiss goes into the Avatar State and WRECKS SHIT UP Alright, the poll is still going, so get those votes in QUICK. WHO DO YOU WANT TO SEE?! Finally, here the growths of Schwarz and Shiori Schwarz Growths: HP 80 STR 50 SKL 40 SPD 60 LUCK 25 DEF 45 RES 38 Soo.... Schwarz. It's a shame his Skill starts so low, otherwise I think more people would use him! He's got terrific growths, with a really high Str and Def for a Pegasus knight, and he's even got great Res. But just look at that UNGODLY speed stat... He'll be doubling everybody! Plllluuussss since he can only use swords and has 8 con... he probably won't be weighed down by much. All in all, I love him as a unit, and will be using him quite a lot. (Plus, 15 Aid!) Shiori HP 80 Pow 40 Skl 50 Spd 60 Luck 60 Def 30 Res 45 Oh, Shiori... if only you WEREN'T LEVEL 20 SO I CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THESE. Seriously though, she is meant to be the opposite of Fa. Not super strong, but really speedy and with high Res instead of Def. It's a nice combo for these two, and they work really well together. The best part is her Spd growth... she pretty much just doubles EVERYTHING. .... .... ... OH TO HELL WITH IT. HERE'S CEAPANA AND WEISS TOO Weiss HP 85 Pow 45 Skl 50 Spd 40 Luck 35 Def 50 Res 25 Weiss is a goddamn Cavalier if I ever saw one. Just... Average all around, really. Res is his only weak spot, as even with 40 Speed he'll be gaining a few points. Honestly, before I post I play every chapter a few times, and he's NEVER turned out bad for me. I LOVE him, and always will. Favorite cavalier fo sho. Ceapana HP 75 Pow 40 Skl 50 Spd 45 Luck 50 Def 25 Res 45 Oh Ceapana.... Her growths are unfortunately low. She doesn't have ANY outstanding stats, which is a shame since she could turn out SO well. Even though she can use swords (YES) she should NEVER be in the front lines. A perfect healer if I ever saw one though, she should be a good replacement for Puledra... at least for a while. Also, I may be totally off base here... but I think Ceapana and Shiori kinda have a thing for each other. It'd be a cute pair for sure, and I've always been disappointed that there are no homosexual pairings in Fire Emblem games. I guess the closest would be Lucius and Raven... but I mean... come on. XD Whew. Alright, well next time round, prepare for a LOT of level up screens, plus a LO of fighting. It's pretty clear to me that Shiori is meant to be the "crutch character" in this map. Good defenses, strong spells, she gets an elixir.... all that good stuff. BUT WE'RE USING WEISS DAMMIT Alright, I move everybody into position...This area around Weiss is highly defensible.. so I try to stick around here at first. Shiori: It’s almost time to attack. Weiss, Ceapana, listen. HAH I will not rest until everybody but Saai is dead. Shiori: If we don’t flee, we’ll have the whole army after us. See that river down there? Alright, so I think every spot on the other side of the river is a "win spot" once you kill the two lieutenants. S: I have a plan to prevent them from following us, don’t worry. Ceapana is also able to (accidentally) make a dent in the forces. Good one, sister! Although, I must say... A pet peeve of mine in Fire Emblem is when a character mug show one character... and then the battle animation looks different. For the most part, these animations are great! But I really wish she had a red headband... It's REALLY bad for me in the next chapter; there's a character with a hat? And it's not in his animation and it just BUGS ME. I'm fine with like, Generals or Knights, but.... ughhhhhhh..... REGARDLESS She still has some great sword animations, i don't know if they're custom or what, but they look nice. More murder from Weiss. Strength is good. MURDER MACHINE WEISS IS IN ACTION BABY Ceapana gains an AWFUL level healing Weiss. Come on... be more like Weiss, Ceapana! AW SHIT. More Strength and Speed is NEVER BAD FOR A MURDER MACHINE Into the belly of the beast... Filthy Paladin! YOUVE GOT NOTHING ON THE GREAT AND GLORIOUS WEISS (he misses) BOOM! HEADSHOT Correction. WEISS got you. Raymur: Soldiers… be careful, these… are not common enemies… Haha! Now what, suckas?! Deja Vu AGAIN Saai: Soldiers, call the sixth and seventh platoons, and follow my lead! I’ll personally eliminate them! Shiori: Pant… Pant… We did it. Now, to the river! Weiss... you're fulfilling all my dreams! (He hit a sword guy by the way. With a halberd) Uhm... actually... we're not? Saai: Seventh platoon, block the path to the river! Well... it IS Strength... Silly Weapon triangle.... And a brilliant level to cap it off. Yep... that's right. I leveled him 10 times in this chapter. (also, he killed an axereaver guy here) LOOK AT THAT. HE CAPPED STRENGTH His only issue was Skill... but I think he did fine. I MEAN did you see those hit rates? And yet he still won! Unfortunately... this means he's no longer usable, except as backup... :'( Ceapana gets a GREAT level evading this Wyvern... SHIT Shiori: Ceapana! Oh Gods, no!! Don’t die! CEAPANA!! Oh. Oh no.... Ceapana... :'( Welp, savestates and VENGEANCE I suppose. Alternate timeline Ceapana, you will be avenged! Sigh... it's always like this... :( Weiss kills his final man. Shiori breaks the tree.... Oh, and I also spammed Barrier to gain Exp for Ceapana. And we made it! Only 4 enemies left on the map... Saai and 3 armor guys. It's clever chapter design, really. Have a puzzle chapter followed by all-out war. It's good pacing, and helps break things up! Weiss two-shotted him with the Lancereaver. Weiss is bae, Hellios is useless. (where they came from, WHO KNOWS) I really like how Saai is being portrayed as this benevolent, yet hard-fisted commander. He's very... perplexing, showing the player both sides of the story, that of Hoikade, and that of our Heroes. Saai: You, with the silver hair, answer. Who are you? Why did you attack us? Shiori: My name… Pant… is Shiori. You don’t need to know anything else… Saai: Fine, then, Shiori. I’m Commander Saai of the central army of the kingdom of Hoikade. And I shall end your life NOW! HOLY CRAP Thank goodness she dodged it.... but there's just.. no way... NOT SHIORI Unfortunately... she crits. Which is impossible. He's got the Soul Mirror (Hoplon Guard, Iron Rune, whatever)! He can't be critted. AH. What's cool about this fight is that it's "real" to a certain extent. I'm pretty sure that Saai has been tailor made in this chapter to deal 27 damage to Shiori, since neither can level up. Shiori: Ugh! So strong… Ceapana: Shiori!! Gods, I have to heal your wound! Saai: That won’t be necessary, because you’ll all die here now. Soldiers, finish them! Shiori: … I made a promise. I said that… I would’ve prepared the ritual… for her. Aww... this is why I still like you, even if you're a dick sometimes. WHITE FLASHES Saai: Aaah! Such bright light…! She’s blinded us! Shiori: … Captain Weiss: Shiori, hang in there! Ceapana, I’ll carry her. Let’s go, quickly! Alfred... i'm sorry. I just can't take this chapter name seriously! It sounds soooo.... pretentious. Well.. thus ends one of my favorite chapters. On to the next one! CHAPTER 6 - Where we fight for almost no reason Nararaararaartoroer: Her magic strengthened, she manages to keep the Demon under control… for now. In fact, as soon as the effect fades out, she’ll fall under the Demon’s pressure. Knowing that, Faratrass and her group plan to go to the Midnight Shrine, where Shiori should have prepared the ritual of Vassalage for her. However, their journey gets interrupted by some unexpected events… hmmmmm Hellios: Schwarz is late. Generic Mustache: Here’s the cider you ordered. Faratrass: …… Hellios: What’s wrong, Faratrass? Fa: It made me lose consciousness. And because of that, I nearly died. HAHA?! This is no laughing matter, asshole! The Demon King almost escaped! hmmm.... the plot thickens... Hmmm... alright. Apparently, one of their squad has found a bunch of corpses near here. Hmm? What's that? Why? Schwarz: They weren’t able to identify them, but they probably belonged to soldiers. Fa: …ah! Schwarz: Lazulis thinks that one of its squads that got attacked by bandits, so the King has dispatched some troops to investigate the area. Fa: Charred… bodies… Hellios: What’s wrong, Faratrass? You’re completely pale! Schwarz: Heh, those images must be too crude for a lordly little damsel like you. oh.... oh I get it... my god.... Schwarz: What? Fa: It’s… Hoikade, without a doubt. Schwarz: … Are you serious!? Since when does Hoikade burn its own soldiers!? Fa: It’s one of our emergency tactics. Hoikade probably followed us all the way here, but… They met Weiss all right. 50% GONE, just like that. Fa: Yes, I think that’s what happened. Secretly crossing Lazulis’ borders can be considered a stealth mission. If Lazulis were to discover that the Hoikadian army is here, then…! Schwarz: I’m starting to understand. They burnt the corpses so that the Lazuleans wouldn’t recognise them. Me neither... it really tarnishes the image that's been starting to build up. Fa: I never wanted that either! There are families that are waiting for their husbands and sons… Fa: Moonie, you fool… I can’t believe you sent the army here to Lazulis… Here, where I thought I could finally find some peace… Hellios: …. Mustache: Excuse me? Schwarz: Yes? Mustache: Can you possibly be soldiers? Fa: … Yes, we are. Why? OH YES! And he's a criminal... can Schwarz get any better?! It's too bad, I don't think we learn his backstory in this patch. :/ Schwarz: Shit! Run, RUN!! Ugh, finally! This is the first time in TWO WHOLE CHAPTERS that we'll be using the main force. It feels like, forever, don't it?! Schwarz: Nnngh… How could this happen? If YOU don’t know, then who!? What? So it is Christianity? Hmm... that's... odd. And if Schwarz is Judas... does that mean... The wisest solution would— uh-oh Fa: If those soldiers report to the capital, they’ll find out who we really are. Are we sure that Fa isn't possessed by the Demon King? This is such a heartless thing to say... :/ Rya: …Are you serious, Milady? I thought you didn’t want to kill innocents. Fa: … … Just get ready. Oh Cristoph. You make everything better. Alright... here is our setup! In the Polls, the final vote was 1 for Garion 2 for Cristoph (one was in comments and not the poll) 2 for Use Both 1 for Screw them both use Weiss In the end, I made the executive decision :P to use Cristoph for this run. When the next patch comes out, I'm planning to replay up until that point and I'll use Garion instead of/in addition to Cristoph. Along with two houses, two villages and two secret items (shhh) there are two enemies of interest. The first is Sae'rah She's our last trainee, and luckily she starts off at a decent level. Her stats are... okay, I suppose, but it's her ability to use lances that makes her INVALUABLE to the team. She'll essentially be "replacing" Menmus, so that's good. (Even though Menmus isn't a part of the team. He's only here to get items) Anyways, she's hard to recruit, but I'll show it off next update. Also.. I'll STILL don't know what's covering her moth. A scarf? A shadow? A veil? I have no idea. Well then. He's definitely a hard nut to crack. I'm PRETTY sure we're supposed to let a Green unit (who shows up later) beat the CRAP outta him, but I think Sae'rah can handle this idiot. The hardest part about him is that Killer Bow, and the effective damage from Zanbato. Don't want those to unexpectedly take out of our best units. NEXT TIME We get Weiss. 'Nuff said. Next time is a good time. The only thing I DON'T like about the next two chapters is the amount of Green Units. Seriously... theres WAY too many. Regardless, it will be exciting. Next up is Ceapana. She comes with alright stats, a little weak on defenses... but eh. Her real catch is that Trobadour's can now use swords. It really adds to their functionality! I really like that Alfred did not give us any "defenseless" characters, such as a cleric. Even the healers can attack! That said, she comes with a Mend, a Barrier, and her own special sword. Just in case Weiss needs some help. I really didn't like defenseless units. It makes them a pain to train because you're forced to use staves. It was simply too boring for me to handle. Finally, here the growths of Schwarz and Shiori Shiori HP 80 Pow 40 Skl 50 Spd 60 Luck 60 Def 30 Res 45 Oh, Shiori... if only you WEREN'T LEVEL 20 SO I CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THESE. Seriously though, she is meant to be the opposite of Fa. Not super strong, but really speedy and with high Res instead of Def. It's a nice combo for these two, and they work really well together. The best part is her Spd growth... she pretty much just doubles EVERYTHING. It'd be a cute pair for sure, and I've always been disappointed that there are no homosexual pairings in Fire Emblem games. I guess the closest would be Lucius and Raven... but I mean... come on. XD Whoa... Whoa whoa whoa whoa. Although, I must say... A pet peeve of mine in Fire Emblem is when a character mug show one character... and then the battle animation looks different. For the most part, these animations are great! But I really wish she had a red headband... It's REALLY bad for me in the next chapter; there's a character with a hat? And it's not in his animation and it just BUGS ME. I'm fine with like, Generals or Knights, but.... ughhhhhhh..... Every battle animation needs at least 40 hours of hard work (at least for me) so most of the times it isn't really worth the effort when you already have pre-made battle animations that you just need to recolor (and recoloring also takes a good amount of time, by the way). Also, there's a limited space for animations, and I fear I will need it for promoted classes. I understand what you say though. It often bugged me as well in the past. Strength? Really? That's what you gain? Actually.... hey Alfred? What do her staves work off of, are they Strength based? Or something else? In the newest patch, Str and Mag will be a unique stat called Pow. And yes, as of now her staves use the Str stat.
