Hard Mode Gecko Codes

By doing a quick search I was able to track down codes for unlocking enemy range, battle saves, weapon triangle, and map affinity on hard mode.

Here's the list:

Enable Enemy Range on Hard Mode
04191AC8 28000003
04052C98 28000003
04067C5C 28000003

Enable Weapon Triangle on Hard Mode
0402A8A8 28000003

Enable Map Affinity on Hard Mode
040F97D0 28000003
04119440 28000003

Enable Battle Save on Hard Mode*
04025DBC 2C000003
0404B664 28000003
04025468 28000003
04025720 28000003
04025814 2C000003

*When you save it works just like a battle save, but when you resume it, it says suspended data and deletes the save after loading it, so you have to re-save if you want to resume again.

This was a godsend for me because I really wanted to see what hard mode was like without "fake difficulty". You'll need Homebrew Channel on your Wii, and Gecko OS.

also i tried to use a code earlier to hack a shine barrier into micaiah's inventory and it didn't seem to work

do i apply this code directly, or do i have to use a button activator code?

Maybe that code is made for a specific version of RD. (Dunno?)

There are two versions for the NTSC-U Radiant Dawn... (v1.00 and v1.01)

It also won't work if you're using the European version. (If it's a US code)

---

You apply them directly.

Oh gawd, thanks so much for that. That does sound great, I just HAVE to try those out...except maybe Battle Saves. dondon gave a decent reasoning to using them. It's good when experimenting those kind of things.

i still can't get these codes to work. i'm playing RD via USBLoader, so i'm enabling ocarina in the game settings and turning the codes on. i'll have to figure out what's up.

EDIT: now the game crashes whenever i try to suspend, and the enable enemy range code doesn't seem to work, either.

  • 5 years later...

I know I'll probably get points for necro'ing this, but since I posted this myself under an alt, and this is still a top result on google, I thought I would clarify:

These are codes for Gecko OS from the Wii HBC (running the game from a disc). There are no "activators". I have not tested these with Dolphin, USB loader or anything else.
