Banned because you got any tips for someone going into Binding Blade blind after playing Blazing Blade?

  • Enemies on Clarine's first map will not attack her, even as a player unit (She self-recruits)
  • Roy is really bad
  • Ambush spawns are mean and all reinforcements are ambushes in this game; on chapter 5, make sure you camp some units on the first just north of your starting position because starting from about turn 12-ish, brigands will spawn from them until turn 20
  • On normal mode, you can really use whoever you want and generic enemies aren't SUPER terrifying, but on hard, Marcus is essential to success; do not be afraid of using prepromotes as everyone else will die in 2-3 rounds of combat
  • On Hard Mode, Rutger is amazingly good
  • Axes aren't very good, but can be serviceable
  • If the combined sum of exp gained from Sue and Shin is higher than Thea and Shanna, you will go to Sacae. Otherwise, you will go to Ilia; Sacae is MUCH harder.
  • You only get two hero crests other than from a secret shop in ch. 16 that is located where Zeiss spawns; Hugh is holding the member card. The two Hero crests are probably best used on Deke and Rutger, but (Mostly on hard mode) Fir is also a worthy candidate, since swordmasters gain 30% to crit rather than 15%. Ogier is good and sometimes better than Deke once trained but has a rough start, Lot is better than Wade, but both can be good. (If you can work around their bad hitrates)
  • Depending on which village you visit in chapter 9 decides which route you take on the western isles; you may want to reference a guide, as Echidna is only recruited on one, and I think that Klein and Thea are on the other, not to mention the different dancers. (Both can be hard to recruit; watch out, as Klein shows up with a bunch of enemy archers, and Klein can likely ORKO most of your units; talking to Thea with Shanna turns her into a green unit, and she will fly towards Klein.
  • Chapter 7 is really hard; it may be worth training Wolt, (even though he's quite bad) simply to help with the wyvern riders.
  • For the good ending, certain conditions must be fufilled. (You may want to check a guide for that, though.)
  • Have fun! There's some bad maps early on, but it gets better.

Banned for being insanely thorough. Thanks!

Ooh, forgot to mention that supports are quite slow in general and there is a cap to the amount of supports you can get every chapter. One's I'd reccomend are:

  • Noah and Fir's supports
  • Jerrot and Juno
  • Jerrot and Noah
  • Jerrot and Treck
  • Juno and Shanna
  • Shanna and Thea
  • Saul and anyone
  • Lot and Wade

In general, the Ilians have good supports; Lot and Wade's supports are very fast and quite good.

Two other things that are important:

Get the redux translation patch: It is much better. (You can find it here on the site in the Binding Blade subforum.)

Buyable boots in chapter 21! There's a secret shop there with buyable boots, and there is nothing more fun than a capped strength Fir with fifteen movement running around:

Banned because the final chapter of Blazing Blade ENM is ridiculously difficult for a terrible FE player like myself.

Banned because you could enemy phase chip the dragon with the help of a healer or elixirs. Thing doesn't actually move.

Banned because that'd be great if I could just get past the stupid berserk staff user and the resurrected past bosses.

Don't go after Uhai on turn 1, or sleep him if you want to rush him; Canas, Lucius, Pent, a high res/dodgy physical unit, (perhaps Raven)  or Athos should be able to handle Kenneth, Jerme could be handled by Jaffar or any bulky unit, Ursula will go down to any effective damage or a player phase unit, (Again, perhaps Raven) and you will likely need your strongest units to deal with Lloyd and Linus.

And yep, I really struggled with it in ENM too. It's hard.

Banned because beserk staves accuracy is affected by resistance and is lowered by distance. If you have anyone with enough resistance to bait out attacks, you could try burning out uses that way. Nini's grace can add a further 10 defense to help that. Just remember they need some kind of tome or weapon on them or the beserk user won't fall for it. As for the others.. it really depends what you have. If your Hector's good (strength defense and HPwise) and you have a swordslayer, he could be used to deal with Linus and Lloyd. A hammer or magic should work on Darin. Typically I use a FalcoKnight to deal with Kenneth. The Iron rune, if given to someone, can help them avoid being hit with a crit (particularly helpful for those twins).

Banned because the above advice is very helpful, from both Benice and Roger. Thanks.

This is my team:

Lvl 7 Eliwood - Knight Lord

Lvl 8 Hector - Great Lord

Lvl 10 Lyn - Blade Lord

Lvl 8 Druid - Canas

Lvl 20 Archsage - Athos

Lvl 18 Paladin - Marcus

Lvl 14 Berserker - Hawkeye

Lvl 9 General - Wallace

Lvl 16 Sage - Pent

Lvl 17 Swordmaster - Karel

Lvl 16 Wyvern Lord - Vaida

Lvl 11 Sniper - Louise

Not the best, but I'm sure it's still possible.
