Tequila
[spoiler=Chapter 17] Bartre, Priscilla, Lyn, Lowen, Hector, Eliwood, Wil, Marcus, Sain, and Rebecca make up today's team. Sain starts us off by failing to 1-hit something. Eliwood decides to double. Finally. Wil trades Sain's flux for a nosferatu to tank the eastern archer on EP, then finishes off the myrmidon for a barely tolerable level. Lyn clears the path... ...for Lowen to rain death and destruction and...oh, he didn't crit. Nuts! Bartre and Priscilla both fail to finish him off. End turn 1. Archer and Wil trade blows. #2 hits Sain, but he restores the HP and cripples the guy in the process. The other two archers went for Lowen and both missed; I don't know why, since they would have done 0 and 1 damage, respectively. A pretty successful phase. I've eliminated every threat... Except this one. But I prepared for him; only Lowen and Hector were in range. It's strange that it went for Lowen, since it could have crit-killed Hector. Whatevs. I can now breathe a little easier. End of turn 3. Nothing interesting happened last EP. This one, knight misses Hector, and he crits it for a THWOMPy level. Wil clears a path Hector takes the path, and fails to capitalize on it. Prissy makes up for him and gets a THWOMPy level. Despite that, my def tanks can hold the enemy off. Lowen was supposed to take that steel archer, not Sain. Raven was in the way and I didn't realize the archer could move to his square. Well, the problem is solved one way or another. Bartre and Priscilla took out the archer just to the west of our allies. I'm ok with this level; I need him to gain defense for the pirate ship mission, because Canas has the durability of a wet paper towel. End of player phase. I'm bunched up, waiting for Raven, and hoping I can still get those thieves before they escape. "'Sup?" I haven't been spamming him very much, but it's nice to have Eliwood be able to kill things (I refuse to buy Fires from the Ch 16 shop. That shit's way too expensive). End of phase. Eliwood's eager to try out his new Elfire tome. Lowen and Eliwood laugh in the face of this puny opposition; the latter getting a great level. MEANWHILE IN THE NORTH Time to wend our merry way up there, but first I need to get rid of these fuckers, since the green lads are going to come pouring out soon. Marcus generally being awesome. Prissy and Lowen are going to (hopefully) nab those thieves next turn. The archer has a choice between Eliwood and Lowen, both of which will ORKO him. He chose...poorly. Wil trading his steel lance to Prissy and some luck allow her to one-hit the thief, while Lowen gets a great level. Sure, why not? It's kind of nice to not have to worry about Merlinus; I can just tackle the reinforcements whenever I like. Whenever I like being right now. Greenies taking a hand and stealing my exps oh no. Prissy and Sain are clearing out the reinforcements in the middle room, although Sain missing forces Lowen to lend a spear. YOU WANKER Get that 50% res growth girl so you don't end up like Dorcas-lite. Which actually wouldn't be that bad. But still. You have a resistance growth. Use it. That knight is going to get one hell of a surprise when he tries to hit a hammer-wielding Rebecca. And those two are gonna get chipped by Wil. He actually has defense! As much as Eliwood, in fact. Oh no you didn't! That was a crit; soldier crits are really non-flashy. Knight tinks our knight and our knight hits back. She deals 28 damage back 1 hit, and doubles. Needless to say, he dies. He's OK, I swear. NONONONO GO AWAY NO BIRDS ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES "I..am your father." "NO WAY REALLY?" Sain :( Oh come on, not this again. Strength is good. Let's get this little bastards rescued, shall we? Eliwood shall tank the next wave. He crit-kills them both and gets a nice level out of it. The next way narrowly avoids the same fate, cause he can't hit! Which means Bartre gets a chance to get some exp. This was not worth it. Someone will get hit, but whoever it is can tank it. Meanwhile, the northern squad finds themselves bored, so they try to kill this bastard. It's hard. He doubles every single person. I'm extremely thankful Klok didn't have him start with a silver sword; he'd be impossible to kill without savestates. I figured Prissy might as well get some sword exp, since she's mostly using lances (iron swords too inaccurate for my taste). Clearing out the last few enemies. Bartre gets a much better level. Capped skill and resistance? I love this guy. This is slightly unexpected! WilxRebecca C support. Probably going to Fiora, assuming I use her. Hector has been steadily chipping the Extra!, he now kills it for a good level and a luna tome that Sain will adore. Prissy crits the last non-boss combatant. And...that's all the chests. Mine? Who needs a mine? I want money, damnit! He actually hit Bernard, but Bernard hit him back on EP, so now he's gone off to heal. Then he got crit-killed on the next EP. SUCH POWER Prissy gets the kill, cause why not? It should be noted I don't intend to abuse the mine or torch glitches. Hence why I took the gem. Tequila
[spoiler=Chapter 17x] Team: Marcus, Bartre, Sain, Hector, Serra, Lowen. "But Teq, you get a thief this chapter! Why'd you bring Bartre?" Shut up. I wanted to train Bartre too in preparation for next chapter. End of turn 1. Canas is luring an iron axe pirate, Lowen's got either halberd or swordslayer going after him, but every other time the swordslayer moved first, so I feel reasonably confident he will survive. See? End of turn 2. Swordslayer comin' in for round 2. I hate you so goddamn much. WHAT DID CANAS EVER DO TO YOU Resistance? Good heavens! Bartre traded his iron blade for Canas' killing edge, since I knew he'd get targeted. Wanted him to have a sporting chance. Not speed/10. Damien brought his entourage. This could be tricky. Actually, things just got a hell of a lot simpler. It means I don't have to risk Lowen dying. Dealing with some pests. Lowen also trades Sain's flux for the nosferatu. End of turn 2. Canas is in the corner to make Damien come as close to me as possible; I don't want to trigger the other reinforcements. Good man. Even better man. He'll just get back that HP, you know. Along with A dark. I think this is the first time I've ever seen this particular troubadour actually heal someone. Beastin'! Superfluous crit. Level not great. Great level, considering you capped 2 stats already. Only Damian left. I hope. Serra still refuses to gain HP. Ok, NOW we're good. I'm betting he'll go after Bartre or Serra, but I leave Canas in the corner anyway so that he doesn't have an excuse to retreat. Thankfully, he only had 6 speed. Even weighed down with the mani katti, Serra won't get doubled. Hardest part of the chapter is over. If I actually use you, you'd damn well better hit when you have to. Canas is going to lure the pirate you can barely see under the 'Reach Fargus' sign. Lure with his face, that is. No level is gained. Ok, let's go for the handaxe one this time. FFS STILL NOT SPEED A surprise attack fails to do much against my flying tank. Y'all know what this means, don't you? Now I'm having Canas chip away at the group of 6. I'm still hoping I can get him to 19 speed to steal Fargus' Earth Seal. The speed and con are much needed. You're beautiful Marcus. I do appreciate the skill, but c'mon already. The gods are kind, because that last hit... ...broke my last steel sword. Look at that glorious non-damage. Well, barely worth mentioning damage. Should be able to survive pegasi now, right? The loots. I sold the short bow and devil axe; I already have one of the former and since I can't restart, I do not want to suffer the embarrassment of losing one my units to a devil axe reversal. Might as well get some chip experience. And that's that! Next chapter will be probably the hardest so far, but I will definitely probably hopefully prevail. Tequila
[spoiler=Chapter 18] Priscilla, Canas, Marcus, Lyn, Wil, Hector, Eliwood, Lowen, Rebecca, Sain, and Dorcasa are the team. I had to take Canas because Bartre never got speed, so he couldn't steal the Elysian Whip. We start off by removing this knight in the way. Then Marcus sets himself up as a roadblock. Clearing out the middle. So close. And yet..so far. Becca was originally going to kill the guy with the emblem spear, but at the last minute I decided to have her sub Wil's slim lance for a horseslayer and they would tank the axe/lance duo together. Like...so. Also, DAYUM! Unfortunately, my foresight did not extend to giving him inventory space, but a vulnerary can be sacrificed for the greater good. I did not realize Lowen would get doubled by the longsword; I briefly panicked there. This one also doubles, and hits the second hit. Roadblock is blocking the road. So..the right side's looking a bit dangerous. First, let's let Canas do what I brought him here to do. Decent level; I can't complain. Some KOs and a weapon I'll probably never use, except maybe I will. I don't really know. Inventory space is a premium nowadays, after all. First time I've ever used a wind sword. It uses the excalibur animation, I believe. Looks pretty cool. Becca missed one of those hits. Sigh. Lyn wants to prove that she's the better berserker. If she keeps gaining strength I shall not deny that. Marcus just got 1-range ownage. That's the only thing to happen on EP. Some reinforcements appeared, and Prissy doesn't seem to want to double nowadays. So Canas lends a hand. The Wo Dao is, quite frankly, a hilarious weapon. Insane crit, yet it goes TINK the majority of the time. Lyn gets B axes. End of turn. I've whittled down the enemies quite a bit. Wil getting amazing, after his slightly-less-than-stellar beginning. Flying reinforcements; my favorite. The only noteworthy thing to happen this turn. Lyn and Wil are going to kill the boss ahead of time; the longer I wait, the bigger the risk that I'll lose someone. I hate Luna so much. These guys get 1-hit, of course. Becca kills this bad boy... And then I realize I have a bit of a problem. Neither Lyn nor Wil can kill the boss in one round. No one else is around to help. If I leave Wil in range, he will die. I take out some frustration by OHKOing some enemies. Eventual decision: Marcus heals Dorcas, who goes and picks up Rebecca. He's in range of Zoldam but has barely enough HP to tank 2 hits. Wil chugs a vulnerary, and Lyn will hopefully kick ass soon. Ouch ouch ouch. Don't worry, she survived. Since Lyn still can't miraculously 1-round Zoldam, Sain lends a hand and gets a great level. If you miss, I'm screwed. You will die. Fortunately, that doesn't happen. Klokinator
Bumrushing that chapter is really the best strategy in this run because that horde of units that spawns later is a death horde that will END one unit almost 100% of the time. Good move.
RandomSwordmaster
That "horde" is nearly impossible to tank out, and will push you back. Guaranteed.

Tequila
[spoiler=Chapter 19] Got a pretty large group here. Lyn, Canas, Eliwood, Hector, Serra, Wil, Sain, Priscilla, Marcus, Lowen, Bartre, Florina, and Dart. And of course, Fiora and Leila are going to show up later. We start things off nicely. If Canas had missed I probably wouldn't have been able to nab the staff. To the east, Bartre lights up the place, revealing a horde of nasty enemies. Well, not all of them are nasty. Lowen can tank pretty much all non-mages by now, so I'm not worried about throwing him in the middle of a bunch of units. End of turn 1. Canas is going to lure the pegasus with the axereaver, Sain's going to tank with nosferatu (not that he needs it), and everyone else tries to stay out of the way. Ya know, I'm not entirely sure why I was so worried. These guys SUCK. Start off turn 2 with a couple of crits; Prissy gets a nice level. More killing. Those 5 enemies on the center island are pretty much the only danger, and one of them can't attack. Florina and her short bow's extreme weight make for good steel sword bait. Ain't no uncounterable magic in MY house. This...could mean trouble. I decide to risk Dart dying; not sure why. I couldn't steal the angelic robe off the steel sword cav AND kill the other cavalier, so I'm hoping Florina will lure the cavalier again. She doesn't but he survives anyway. I did have a brief moment of panic, however. Also a pirate I forgot about decides to try out for the Lowen-hitting contest. Pirate reinforcements to the northwest say hi. Prissy's getting this one. Oh. Right. This is why I was worried about this chapter. 48 crit. If this guy gets lucky, he can 1-hit anyone on my team. However, I ignore the berserker in favor of roasting the steel sword cavalier, netting some needed skill, Prissy kills the valkyrie and gets a nice level. Canas is luring that peg; it has a goddess icon, but the cav was an unexpected event. Despite the fact she's stealing my exp, I'm kind of glad this happened, because I didn't have anyone around to deal with him. ...because Canas has a more important job to do. Probably benching Florina from now on. I think she's just too fragile. And...maybe Serra as well. Mainly because I gave the body ring of Eliwood way back when, so the mani katti kills her AS alot. Someone else took care of that pirate; I forgot who. Some rescue-dropping shenanigans to get Hector in range of the berserker. As he has the highest luck, plus Eliwood's B support, I'm hoping for the best. Oh. Right. Luna shaman in the southwest. Always forget about that guy. He missed the first hit thankfully, I didn't realize he can double. Yeah, Sain's still got the northeast corner under control. Hector's ashamed of being doubled, so he takes his ire out on this foolish nomad. Back on PP, Lyn chips and Wil kills the berserker for decent levels. Unfortunately, that leaves Lyn in short bow!nomad range, so Lowen flies in and blocks her off, killing this divine!monk at the same time. I didn't realize there was a horde of nomads hiding down there. Fortunately, Lowen's got this under control. And good riddance. Alas, he left that last nomad on 1 hp last EP, and no one's around to kill it. I just have to hope it doesn't crit. Just like that. On the next turn, Prissy chips and Eliwood finishes, netting Hector's promotion item... ...and access to the pegasus axereaver death squad.
