Hello,

This topic is for people to gather and confirm their participation in my first forum RP. I will be acting as the DM. I will be controlling all NPC characters, and enemies. I will also be granting roleplayers their levels, and giving out loot and items. The setting will take place in the Fire Emblem universe.

Rules:

1. You start between level 1-5 as a first tier class.
2. You cannot RP as existing FE characters, or their relatives.
3. You cannot use any known legendary or signature weapons/tomes/staves/etc.
4. Your character cannot have amnesia, or anything that impedes their ability to communicate or 'fight'.

5. You cannot take control of other people's characters or NPCs.

Guidelines:

- Be descriptive, but stay focused on the given situation.
- Try to work with other participants.
- Do not try to steal 'the spotlight'. RP is not about having the 'best' character. It is about being creative, and improvising well.

- Do not forget that there is a surrounding environment to play with, and not just your character.
- Those who follow the guidelines well, will be rewarded well (Levels, loot and promotions.).

- Try to work within the confines of your character.
- If you are unsure, send me a PM.

Template:

Age: (Minimum age of 16 years)

Class: (Mercenary, Myrmidon, Thief, Cavalier, Knight, Fighter, Pirate, Archer, Wyvern Knight, Pegasus Knight, Cleric, Troubadour, Monk, Mage, Shaman.)

Setting:

The RP will take place on the continent of Ylisse about 60 years after the events of Awakening. The party members have been hired as escorts for someone who is travelling from Ylisse to Plegia. The reasons are unknown. The truth will be revealed as the RP goes on, and the party members will find out why they have been hired as escorts.

4. Shadow the Myrmidon (Empoleon77)

People interested in participating will reply with a filled template. If you are interested in roleplaying with me, then you have to submit a minimum of two posts a week. If you do not respond in a week, then your character will be written out and your spot will be open for someone else. This thread will be used for questions, discussion, and also where people can collect their levels and loot once a week. This RP will end in 4 weeks or less.

If you have any questions, post them here or PM me.

Special note: If a participant is especially active, I might do a full custom mug of your character.

Erm, while I might be interested, could you be a bit more... informative? Like, how much can we have for stats at the start? How will they play in to the story? After all, if leveling-up is a reward, yet it holds nothing more than a 'you leveled up! Have a slice of cake' degree of reward, isn't it kind of... pointless? Will you be providing base stats or?...

You say the RP will end in 4 weeks, but how do you honestly expect that when someone could get by with just posting 8 times? Do you mean that the RP will be CLOSED FOR SIGN-UPS after 4 weeks? Cause that's entirely different.

Name: Edward

Age: 24

Class: Mercenary

Weapon Levels: Swords: Level D

Inventory: Steel Sword, Vulnerary, Dad's Sword(Non-usable).

Appearance: This describes his appearance perfectly:m43C1MJ.png

Biography: Son of a noble family, Edward grew like a spoiled child, always yelling when he wanted things, so because of that he didn't had many friends and was always playing alone in his family's big house. One day he was forced by his father to flee, carrying only the old sword of his family, because of a bandit attack at his home, orchestrated by his own uncle, who wanted his father's fortune.

After losing all his family because of his uncle's attack , Edward wandered alone from village to village, without having who to turn to. Over the years he became a mercenary, learned to fight and maybe one day he will get revenge on his uncle, with the sword that his father left for him, the only reminder of his family.

There are no stats, because I do not want to manage that as a DM and it is one less thing that roleplayers have to think about. The level up system gives the roleplayers a chance to promote or to change classes (and if I give them a seal as a reward.). The level serves as a way to measure the power and ability of a character.

To answer your second question: I would expect roleplayers to post more than 8 times. Why would you sign up if you only expect to do the bare minimum?

>No stats

Okay, I can speak for experience when say that FE-esque RPs without stats are a bad idea. I was in a rather noteworthy bad RP that had no stats, and the novelty wore out very quickly. Besides, that also shows general laziness that you're allegedly not wanting to even bother with them, as you're only willing to keep up your "story" and little else, and the plot isn't even all that interesting anyway.

The lack of stats also makes the reward incentive a bit more vague and not as appealing as it should be. Sure, reward people for good interactions and whatnot, but it'd be much better to have a concrete reward attached to what happens, as opposed to "oh I like your character here you suddenly have X more level(s)". That's not good GMing, that's setting your RPers up for bias, but that's a completely separate matter.

No-stat RPs tend to go really poorly here on SF, so I'm just saying that if you're willing to run the RP, go the full distance and add stats. It'll add to the longevity and the overall enjoyment of it, being able to see at least why combat goes as it does.

I wouldn't expect such a thing. I also wouldn't expect for the RP to be potentially over after potentially 8 posts.

Name: Blodwyn

Age: 16

Class: Pegasus Rider

Weapon Levels: Lance D

Inventory: Slim Lance, Iron Lance, Vulnerary, Horsie Treats, various things she does not enjoy discussing.

Appearance: Blodwyn is a tall girl with aquamarine hair bound tightly in a small bun behind her head with two small bangs that dangle down near her face, each one carefully braided with string. She is clearly no shrinking violet physically as she has both strong arms and legs and a decently strong figure on the whole. However this has not transferred to her face in the form of a hardened or world-weary look, but rather her face remains noticeably unblemished... VERY noticeably unblemished as she does not even have wear or tear from wind resistance despite flying often. Her armor, though of fairly stock color and design, has been carefully modified in the form of small carvings of flowers having been etched around the edges of each piece... poorly. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that they were both made by her and she does not hold much talent for the arts.

Biography: When Blodwyn was born her parents picked a name that, to them, spoke of beauty. A fair flower for them to behold and love. A name that they soon realized resulted in sneering remarks throughout Blodwyn's life as other girls mocked her name. It got through to her. For most of her childhood and early teen years she remained quiet and in-hiding, using fake names every time she was asked about who she was. That changed when she was soon discovered to be more than capable of riding the Pegasus. Finally she had a chance to be proud of something! So what if her name was a bit silly? Plenty of others had some weird names as well... But now SHE was a Pegasus rider! If the village girls wanted to mock her to her face they'd have to first fly up to her to see it.

As her training continued Blodwyn applied herself as hard as she could, trying to get even better to ensure no more mockery of her name was made or the like. However, with all the training came the price of equipment and maintained, and it wasn't long before she was broke and dependent on training stipends to try and improve herself which was simply not enough. Eventually she spent what little was left on as good armor as she could afford, a solid amount of weapons and healing items, and left to try and find more money as a mercenary, hoping to return one-day to be able to afford finishing her training.

A RP with no stats, in SF? This is new.

One of the reasons why I avoid RPs here is how they're so much stat gamey, so yes, I am interested. I might post a sign-up sheet tomorrow. Since the RP is simple, it will also be good as a warm up for my terrible roleplaying skills~ (I don't mean that I'll do a poor job, I mean that I'll take it easier)

Are thieves in? I have some inspirations for one.

Not really. There have been several attempts. Heck, Fate/Endeavor, though TECHNICALLY statted, is statless in functionality.

The only awakening OC I have who isn't a relation to someone...is of a class that you didn't list. I'll throw him out here anyway, if he's not allowed I might try making another, might not. Depends...

Name: Fivel

Age: 20

Class: Taguel

Inventory: Beaststone, concoction

Appearance: Short, light brown hair with cream colored rabbit ears, ice blue eyes. Tall and somewhat lanky, and wears typical taguel leather clothing. Shifted, he's light brown with cream ears and belly.

Bio: The taguel race was dying out during the events of Awakening, and what was left of them was keeping away from humans for fear of being wiped out entirely. One of them had enough courage to show herself and work with them. Today she is known as a folk hero among the taguel, and Ylisse's taguel friendly policies are gradually spreading. Fivel's parents are the leaders of one of the taguel tribes that live around the outskirts of Ylisstol, growing up, he enjoyed going with them on their ambassador trips. Now fully grown, he's next in line to lead the tribe.

Name: Shadow

Age: 27

Class: Myrmidon

Weapon levels: Sword D

Inventory: Iron Sword, Vulnerary

Biography: A wandering Myrmidon who used to travel with a band of mercenaries hunting down a murderer. After catching him, he left in search of his origins. His discoveries led to him hunting down the Grimleal, the cult that sacrificed his parents to the Fell Dragon. Armed with only an iron sword, he hopes to avenge them.

Appearance: Moderately tall, blue hair, blue eyes. Wears a black headband tied around his head, and black and grey Dread Fighter armor he obtained from a Grimleal general he killed. He rarely ever takes this armor off, and always fights in it.

(Sorry I was late with this;I was training for Apotheosis in FE13).

Shadow? That sounds like a name for a pokemon/animal character...if I were you I'd change it or shorten it to Shad, which would work.

Meh. Hate to gripe, I'm not the owner of this RP...but yeah.

Some quick questions:

Will legendary weapons be completely absent, or will some be found much later in the story?

Can your character be related to any of the FE13 cast? (That could be a gimmick, considering that this is supposed to be a sequel to it). Ex: Shadow's parents are Inigo and Morgan, and his grandparents are Robin and Lucina (Mother's side) and Vaike and Olivia (Father's side).

Will any "support conversation moments" occur in this story?

Read the OP for the answers to your first two questions.

I read it. That isn't what I meant. I meant to ask if it was possible to find legendary weapons LATER in the story, as part of events, and if your character's relatives could be existing characters.

Ahhh that name lol

Things are excruciatingly slow around here right now and I'm so bored I'm actually finishing projects and we can't have that, so I might just give this a shot ... at least if the sign ups are still open around this time tomorrow.

I'm honestly surprised at how much interest this topic garnished, especially considering that Bastion Online: Beta didn't even get a chastising remark.

I guess Fire Emblem RPs are popular on a Fire Emblem forum :P.

Looks like there are plenty of people in here as is, so I'll watch from the sidelines.

You can go'head and take my place. Nothing decent's coming to me character-wise.
