MisterIceTeaPeach
[spoiler=Chapter 10a part 1]Time to rescue Enjolras and Co!18th November Driscoll still can't stand snobby people. Character development Seren explained Arcus that not the rank, but the personality and the leadership ability makes a good leader. Arcus took these advices to heart. The two NPCs from the previous chapter are back. This douche-face is familar.Don't worry! I'll come to help you! The map of chapter 10a:It's another indoor map with lots of NPC units and two chests. There are plenty of enemies soldiers knights cavaliers archers magic users with all three magic types There are also a few promoted enemies:These two halberdiers, who have a titanium lance and a spear. Be careful! They can crit you!A sage with long range magic! What a pleasure... Godthanks he's stuck in this cell. A reason to bring Garath or Crowe to the map, because they can attack him from 3 range (= greatbow).Shaman with nosferatuSister with physicsThe boss is Narvanh, a level 2 general. He's pretty fast. No one can double him except for Renair and Chester. He has a spear and a hero lance (= brave lance). Arcus can deal with him, because he has pretty good defense. These NPCs have weapons. However Enjolras and his two assistants unfortunately not. They lost all their weapons after chapter 7a. So I must thank to all the people once more, who told me to bring all their weapons to Renair's team!I bring everyone to the map except for Crowe, Juan and Kolbane (no enemies with axes). Yeah, I bring Seren to this map! I've read your comments. Her two level ups were crap, but I'll give her a chance. I try to bring her to level 15 and then I'll use the knight sigil on her. So you can see a halberdier in my team.Rank:Not perfect anymore, but I can live with it!Augury:Always the same. Be fast!Probably reinforcements from the starting point.Like I mentioned already. The NPCs have weapons and will help you, if they're freed. An enemy thief will appear. There are an armory and a shop in the area, where you start.Next time the prison break will begin! TheMoniker
Whatever you do, don't delay SUPER super long in this chapter, there's an invisible time limit that eventually summons an absolutely INSANE wave of reinforcements.

MisterIceTeaPeach
[spoiler=Chapter 10a part 2]Chapter 10a is a defeat boss mission. If Narvanh is dead, this chapter will be over. This is my strategy how to deal with these NPCs:I want to keep my two partner units alive:They have a portrait and a name so I expect they'll join, if they survive in these chapters. If it becomes close, I'll rescue them.I'm pretty sure that Enjolras, Marius and Feuilly only will join, if I have opened the cell.I want to keep all the other NPCs alive too, because I hope to get a special reward, if all the prisoners will survive.Katrina is deployed. She's level 2 now.Turn 1Player phase:I buy a fire tome and a restore stave. Actually two restore staves would be better, if one of my healers will be silenced later... Damn it!There was nothing special in the armory. I needed a slim lance for Ilanica and Seren, but there were only iron and steel weapons.I must rescue the mercenary.Gabriel is in the attack range of the bolting, because he has the weapon advantage.Enemy phase:Forgot to turn on the battle animations. The halberdier could kill Garath with a crit, but he didn't do it. The bolting sage misses.NPC phase:Yeah, they help me a little bit!Turn 2Player phase:Now with animations! The other halberdier will attack Renair or Arcus. It's fine, because they've a weapon triangle advantage. Now Seren will take Gabriel's part. She's in a thicket. Asher will be next to her so he can heal her, if she gets hit. Still must rescue the archer. Now all these enemies are dead. Now the sage only can go for Seren. The awesomeness of a bard / dancer!Placement of my units.Enemy phase:41% hit. No problem! Asher will heal her.Turn 3Player phase:This archer has a sonic bow. It has nothing to do with the sonic sword! It's a bow, which is effective against cavaliers. Cool idea, but kinda pointless, because I've no cavalier in my team. It's also pretty heavy. Now she's full... and gets her worst level up at the end. It doesn't matter, because her stats are excellent. Excellent!R.I.P. sonic bowChester is in the attack range of a thunder mage and the bolting sage. With the pure water he can survive them.Ilanice is healed.Enemy phase:More tanky, but I really would like to see skill and speed! The sage goes for Seren again.Turn 3Player phase:Venom poisons the enemy. It's similar to valaura from FE10 only in the dark magic version. The NPCs are in my way.Arcus shall kill the dark mage with nosferatu. I must rescue Adrian after that, because he can't survive a bolting shot. Thanks take + drop I can use Adrian in the next turn too. Ilanice and Driscoll have rescued the NPCs and are in the attack rage of the sage. However they won't be doubled, because bolting weighs a ton.Chester uses a portion.Enemy phase:Arcus will get A LOT of kills in this chapter.Again for Seren. Only one bolting is left.Turn 4Player phase:The NPCs are dropped. I try to kill the bolting sage with Garath's greatbow in this turn. With Adrian's help he can reach him!YES! The biggest problem is gone! Not bad for a prepromote!Enemy phase:Turn 5Player phase:I send Garath, Driscoll, Asher, Gabriel and Seren to the left and everything else to the right path.A magic-bomb, but she tends to forget leveling the other stats.Enemy phase:NPC phase:This mercenary doubles the shaman. Nosferatu misses and he only has one HP left.Turn 6Player phase:First reinforcements! A cavalier with a steel lance. In the right path a soldier with a steel lance appeared.Arcus will deal with lots of enemies in the next enemy phase! The physical units can't do any damage to him so he's absolute safe.Chester uses the door key to rescue the first prisoners. It could be a bad idea. I must keep both eyes on the NPCs, if I will keep them alive!Ugh, not even HP and / or luck?! Bad bard! I really don't want to baby you for the rest of this hack!Time to rescue again. The bad thing: Driscoll will be in the attack range of a thunder mage. Godthanks he won't double him.Enemy phase: Time for "Arcus-Action": Killed 5 of 7 and only was hit by 1 of 7. Not bad! What a reward... He only tries to copy Renair. NPC phase; I must catch this guy immediately! @ The Moniker I've completed this chapter already so know what happened. It was very VERY close for me. There's also a VERY well hidden secret item that requires an unconventional action to obtain. Probably you're not talking about a certain tome for Enjolras. X-Naut
That's not unconventional at all. Also the NPCs don't give you anything and don't join you, they're just there for show (they make great decoys too).
MisterIceTeaPeach
[spoiler=Chapter 10a part 3]Turn 7Player phase:More reinforcements are on their way.Chester will use the lancereaver from now on, because Renair is only the panic button for the rest of this chapter.Enemy phaseIlanice can kill this soldier with a critical hit. The slim lance is broken so she can't use any lances without AS penalty no longer. Very bad!Gabriel is on a pillar.NPC phase:Maybe Seren can do something in the next turn.Turn 8Player phase:Yes she can!Damn, she misses! Now I probably must use the "panic button" already.Yes, I must... Arcus moves to the north to decoy two shamans with flux. Godthanks the ramvirus has so many uses. The mercenary shouldn't steal my kills anymore.Enemy phase:It will be very tedious to bring Seren to level 15. I'm not sure, if I have the patience. The upcoming chapters won't be easier and there's not much room to baby someone.MVP in this chapter: ArcusNPC phase:I forgot that the NPCs in the cells can fight too. Poor Seren...Turn 9Player phase:Now a thief appers (at the right time tbh). He has a flamberge, a 2 range sword which attacks the resistance of the opponent. You remember: The mercenary boss from chapter 3 had this weapon already. I won't fight him in this turn. He shall open the door for me so Chester can open a chest in the next turn already.Again "panic button". I see this coming: My rank in experience will be screwed.I let the soldier alive, because he can't kill anyone. The left side:There are by far less enemies than on the right side.Arcus will have fun with these knights.Enemy phase:This soldier attacks Ilanice. That's actually really bad, because the thief can't open the door now. I only can hope he doesn't decide to attack. He could kill her.NPC phase:No, he didn't attack! The NPC kills him. Pity, because I could have stolen lockpicks from him.Turn 10Player phase:Magic and speed - Nice!MoneyGarath and Driscoll will decoy the soldier and the knight (who's above of the soldier).Enemy phase:Turn 11Player phase:A decent powerful, light and accurate 2 range, which only can be used by cavaliers and knights unfortunately. If Ilanice or Seren could use it, it would be very nice. But the can't...Now Chester must free the remaining prisoners.AlrightAll the enemies excpet for an archer and the boss are dead => victory musicI accidently found out, it's from Touhou. So I must rescue the two so they won't do suicide on the boss. I have no idea, if he'll move. Since he's not on a throne, I expect he does! So the NPCs musn't cause me any unnecessary trouble!Nice, 6 defense isn't bad. However his resistance is kinda low for a priest.Lia will rescue the archer in the next turn and Ilanice the mercenary. I must keep both eyes on the attack range of the boss.I stopped the turncount. Chester needs some turn till he can open the two remaining cells.Chester can open Enjolras' cell in the next turn so Arcus will decoy Narvanh in this one.But he doesn't move! Even better for me!Player phase:Narvanh will probably go for the brave lance.Chester opens Enjolras' cell:I'll take this advice seriously! Now they have weapons as if by magic. Enjolras gets a fire tome.Asher and Gabriel can support. Gabriel will be atacked by the archer.Enemy phase:Yupp, he uses the hero lance. Very nice so I can attack him from the distance without getting a counterattack.Titanium weapons hurt seriously.Player phase:In enemy phase he'll go for her with his spear probably.Enemy phase:When this happens, you should have attacked or at least be very close to the boss...Player phase:... because TONS of reinforcements with very powerful weapons appear from different entrances . I don't care for them, because Narvanh will die in this turn!I don't know, if this happens, when the boss is weakend so much or a certain turnlimit is passed (probably the latter). But before I'll end this chapter, I must do two things before:1. Open the last cell.2. Arcus talks to Enjolras:Fitting to the month, you'll get maythunder. It's not only effective against armor knights, but it can also attack from 3 range. How awesome is that?! And it still has an accuracy of 90!So now time to finish this:Excellent! That 9 defense! A general thing: I always complete an entire chapter! If I have uploaded part 1 of a chapter, I usually can't follow your advices (except I reset). If you have important advices or suggestions for the next chapter, please post them in time! (at the latest, when I have completed the upload of the previous chapter) So if you must tell me any important things about chapter 11a, please post them now so that I can follow your instructions. Each advice and (improvement) suggestion by you is still appreciated. That's not unconventional at all. Also the NPCs don't give you anything and don't join you, they're just there for show (they make great decoys too). Well then, bad luck I guess... TheMoniker
First, I've always found those NPCs odd, I guess I appreciate the help, but the pair is never really mentioned after that, the game pretty much treats it as if they'd died in this battle. They could have at least politely left and given you some money or something if you preserved them. Second, the training lance is going to be useful since it's a brave weapon(though ironically doesn't seem to give much if any at all weapon XP), so be sure to give it to one of your cavaliers for next chapter. MisterIceTeaPeach
First, I've always found those NPCs odd, I guess I appreciate the help, but the pair is never really mentioned after that, the game pretty much treats it as if they'd died in this battle. They could have at least politely left and given you some money or something if you preserved them. It's ok for me that I didn't get rewarded for letting all the NPCs alive. Just hoped for it and tried to play perfectly. However these two partner units of Cullahan's battalion confused me! They don't only have an own portrait, but they also have a name! If I see a NPC with a name in a map, I always think at once it will be recruitable after this chapter. The reason, why I saved them. Shame that the NPCs don't join the party. They seem to be cool people! :) This level 15 mercenary had manly stats. I really wanted to have him in my team... [spoiler=Chapter 10a part 4] The happy reunion! Not much time for big talk. Where's my myrm chick? Chapter 10 ends. It's already mentioned in the comments. I gained absolutely nothing for letting all the NPCs alive. Of course I have rerecruited Enjolras, Marius and Feuilly, but all the other ones were worthless. I didn't even get the two partner units. They were totally pointless in this chapter. They appeared in some dialogues after chapter 8ax and had a portrait and even a name. Whenever I see a NPC with a portrait and name in a map, I always assume he'll be important. Either he'll recruitable later, or he'll give me a reward. However in this case these NPCs only should serve as canon fodder. It confused me and this made the chapter needlessly complicated for me. If I had known this, I wouldn't have rescued any of them! Now I know, how to deal with NPCs! MisterIceTeaPeach
[spoiler=Chapter 11a part 1]That's the point of the two partner units from the previous chapter. LOL!She always expects a consideration! At least Arcus became more human.Renair has won!Trouble!Of course we fight! The peg knight and the dark mage join - cool! The bossBattle preparations:Rank:UnchangedAugury:It's snowing. The movement range outside of the fortress is reduced.Strong magic usersShort introduction of the new allies.Hidden trapsThe map of chapter 11a:Chapter 11a begins as an indoor map and will end outside.Your entire team is split in three parts. You want to have at least one tanky unit in each group. So I highly recommend not to bring Renair and Arcus together. There are so many enemies with range and powerful weapons, who will chase you to death! It's snowing for a few turns so the units outside have a reduced movement range. There are also a few traps with poison like in the GBA games. If you fall into this trap, you get three damage and are poisoned for five turns. You can get three chests, but unfortunately Chester doesn't have enough lockpicks to open the doors and chests. I hope a thief will appear and Chester can steal the lockpicks from him. You also can steal a red gem from a soldier, which I won't do.I'm going to bring Enjorals and Marius to this map instead of Amelia and Ilanice. I also bring Juan instead of Seren, because I need a tank. I apologize to all Seren-Fans, but I'll go for a cavalier instead. My formation: left group: Renair (stationary), Enjolras, Marius, Annelise (stationary), River (stationary) central group: Arcus, Garath, Lia, Adrian right group: Driscoll, Juan, Gabriel, Chester, Asher Ballista. There's another one south-east of it.Long bow crapThere are a couple of prepromoted enemies with titanium lances, who hit you like trucks! However the general doesn't move.Sister with fortifyYou see, there are tons of enemies, who want to make your life miserable. These two bosses are only shown in the first turns. They're in an enclosed area so you can't attack them. The mage knight doesn't have a long range magic tome - godthanks! However Uther has a hero crest. Hopefully I'll get it later. The real boss is Prevalh, another hero. He has exact the same weapons as the berserker boss a couple of chapters ago, but he's not too tough. Renair would be excellent to weak him. He's placed in a thicket so stationary. If you have killed him, you must seize this spot with Renair. The new allies:River is another dark mage. Her magic, speed and resistance are pretty much as good as Gabriel's for being a few levels behind him. Her only downfalls are her lower HP, defense and con, which isn't a problem yet, because she can use her equipped dark spells without AS penalty. I'll try give to give a few levels to decide, whom of these two I'll use in the upcoming chapters.Annelise is another pegasus knight. Although she's lower level than Ilanice, she's better in almost much every stat except for HP and resistance. Her biggest advantages are her higher con (seven) and sword level ©. She can use the equipped killing edge. I'll definitely go for her!A few words to chapter 11a: This map was a pain in the ass for me! I needed four attempts (more than 2,5 hours) to beat it because of RNG screwness and stupid mistakes by myself. I lost Juan once and Garath twice (the latter caused me an instant Game Over). In the next parts I'll show you the "perfect" run. I also will mention all my failures.Turn 1In the central area you should block this entrance (red marked point) with a tanky unit. Arcus is the best contender, because all these enemies have lances and there's a mage.Failure 1:Unfortunately I played the first turn too aggressively once more. Adrian played for Arcus so he could oneshot the mage with his ramvirus in the first turn. The problem was that too many enemies came towards me and it wasn't possible anymore to block the red marked point to save Lia and Adrian. All the mounted enemies went for Garath. I overestimated him. His defense was actually pretty low. It wasn't possible to heal him with Lia, because she had to rescue Adrian and avoid any enemy attack ranges. The consequence: Garath died => Game OverHowever I learned the lesson and switched to the turtle-strategy. Arucs blocks the red marked point with the ramvirus and Garath behind him with an iron bow.In the left and ride side I also turtle so none of my units attacks an enemy.Enemy phase:Another titanium lance. Look how much damage they do to Driscoll. He would barely survive two hits.Be prepared - these enemies HIT HARD!Unfortunately no critOnce more Arcus will get lots of kills in this chapter! Godthanks I've a tanky unit. He's slow and can't hit for shit, but he's my lifeshield. Here's one of these poison traps.Turn 2Now I must kill stuff:As in FE7 Luna has no might, but rather ignores the resistance of the opponent. It also has a very good accuracy of 95.Goodbye titanium lanceUnfortunately Chester can't kill the monk. So I can't do anything except for waiting.Arcus can't kill him so just stands still. All these enemies have 1-2 range weapons.River's first victory!Same goes for Annelise"Panic button" is action alreadyThe awesomeness of maythunder: 3 range. It only can attack from 3 range, NOT from 2 range. The Moniker told me that the training lance has a brave effect: A 2 range brave lance. Awesome! However I should save it, because it only has 20 uses.Adrian makes the chapter much more bearable for me. TheMoniker
I've never liked this map either, honestly. It was kind of long and hard, without much happening... but some of the maps coming up are even longer and harder!
MisterIceTeaPeach
I've edited part 1. Added turn 1 and player phase of turn 2 so this part begins with the enemy phase of turn 2. [spoiler=Chapter 11a part 2]Enemy phase of turn 2:Shinebolt has a decent critrate. Not much is happened, but more enemies will come towards me soon.Marius is posioned by this trap.Turn 3Player phase:CritAttempt #1 fails! Now he can try it again.Changed my plans - Arcus shall get the kill.River has a pretty bad hitrate.Annelise uses a portion. In Renair's group is no healer.Enemy phase:Arcus' main problem: His terrible skill!Wasting my training lance! Turn 3Player phase:Arcus misses again. Arcus and Garath do an excellent job in failing so far. I gave the labrys to Driscoll. A huge mistake, because Arcus needs it much more.At least with the bow it works slightly better.Unchanged: Magic and one other statThe central area is done for now. There are still lots of enemies near by Renair's group:She misses once.Enjolras decoys the archer with the iron longbow. Thanks maythunder he can counterattack.Don't want to waste the training lance. After the end of turn 3 this happens:Uther leaves. Sanvanh is stationary so you still can't fight him.Enemy phase:Here's the paladin with the titanium lance. The wyvern rider is posioned.Turn 4Player phase:At least Driscoll has great hitrates with axes and gets more skill. 15 skill and 13 speed! Juan has to kill him with the javelin, because otherwise he'd be in the attack range of the ballista. Chester and Driscoll are in this range already. You see a thief. I will let him open the doors and then Chester tries to steal his lockpicks.TypicalI try to charge with these four units towards north to join Renair's group quickly. Now time for gambling:It works!Destroying the wall and decoying the archerFailure 2:I actually forgot to mention it in the previous part, but Annelise died too! She attacked the wall. I totally forgot that attacking a wall = attacking an enemy. So she didn't have canto of course. She was in the range of the archer and he killed her.Enemy phase:Ballista hitsTurn 5Player phase:The thief opened the door, where the sister with the fortify was in. She left the room, so I can kill her now. This cavalier next to her seems to be stationary. He didn't attack me, although Driscoll and Chester were in his attack range already.Good God! The first of many crappy level ups in this chapter! No more fortifyKill archers with peggies!Enemy phase:Enjo shows his manliness. It wasn't my intention to put him in this attack range. Another mistake by myself! Luckily he survived with 1 HP. Second ballista shot misses.Turn 6Player phase:Pollaxe (= hammer) # Polex - ridiculous heavy and inaccurate, but effective against knights. I forgot to give it to Driscoll... Damn it!Both are in the attack range of the ballista, but they have nice avoid boost for being on a pillar. The cavalier still doesn't move.Arcus' and Renair's group are combined! Now I have a healer for Renair's group. And again I was an idiot. I totally forgot to kill this cavalier. Renair must do it, because Annelise can't double him. Waste of experience and uses of kris...Enemy phase:Annelise has equipped the wrong weapon...Third ballista shot misses.Turn 7Player phase:Veritas does effective damage to dark mages. These aren't the stats I wanted to see.The two knights and the general are stationary so I don't need to worry about Asher. He only can be attacked by the ballista.Nice time for a crit! I'll regret it to waste all the staves only for gettilng little exp... Lia spend almost all her mend staves in this chapter and I don't have any heal / mend staves in my inventory. Garath can kill him in the enemy phase.Enemy phase:Fourth ballista shot. Only one should be left. @ The Moniker The worst part for me is coming up in the next part. Edited May 6, 2015 by Mister IceTeaPeach
X-Naut
Marius is posioned by this trap. nice tile counting guys Burning through all your staves isn't too bad here because you can buy more next map (and get a healer).

MisterIceTeaPeach
[spoiler=Chapter 11a part 3]Turn 8Player phase:There are two thieves. One of them must be alive, because I still need the lockpicks. He will be trapped till Chester is arrived:Now, he's a dead general!I take the strength.Enemy phase:Oh no! Don't care for it tbh. Have still enough weapons, only need staves for the next chapter. The fifth ballista shot goes for Arcus - no damageTurn 9Player phase:Now the worst part is coming:It has stopped snowing. Now this batallion of cavaliers can reach all my units in the fortress! Only Arcus can survive them so he must kill the ballista archer. Another problem is that reinforcements (mages and monks) are chasing me from behind. So I must clean out all the shit very soon so I'm not gonna be surrounded.Failure #3:Instead of using Arcus I killed the ballista archer with Garath. He was in the range of all the cavaliers. His defense wasn't high enough to survive all these attacks => Game OverEnemy phase:Arcus vs. cavaliers:Unfortuately Arcus can't do much to them. This "game" will last a few turns, because no other unit except for Renair would survive them. Meanwhile the second ballista can waste its shots on Arcus, because they don't do any damage to him.Turn 10Player phase:Lockpick stolenAs I promised in the previous part, the level ups are terrible!Nice formationEnemy phase:Ballista shot #2I will need lots of turn to kill all these cavs, because some of them have 2 range weapons and some of them have swords, which are bad news for Arcus with his axe. The hurbat is broken already so it changed to the ramvirus. However I don't want to waste it too much, because I'll need it against the mages. He shall use the hatchet instead.A good level up for Arcus' standards.Turn 11Player phase:Means I must rescue and heal her...OMG, three stats! You see, my units are in the attack range of the reinforcements already. Gabriel shall deal with them. The monk has smite, which can crit you!Failure #4:Juan was critted by the monk with smite.Enemy phase:Ballista shot #3A critical hit!!!However these are the only two kills.Turn 12Player phase:Annelise can only be attacked by the two reinforcements. She will be fine, when she's healed.Preparation for the great advance! Well, only for the ballista...Enemy phase:Her resistance isn't the best for being a peggie, but still enough.Turn 13Player phase:Too many cavaliers are still alive. I can't send my units out yet.I don't attack the two magic users. They shall go for Gabriel again.Enemy phase:Gabriel's first crit!No disappointment this time!Turn 14 Player phase:Now time for the great advance! I forgot that I still gave him the pollaxe... Yeah, more crap!More crap please! Tbh, I don't care for his level ups. Actually I only would like to see HP, defense and resistance against enemies with long range weapons. Enemy phase:The two remaining cavaliers go for Arcus and can't do any damage to him.Turn 15 Player phase:The worst stats I could get...Yeah, the cavalier army is defeated finally... after six turns. Why game, why?!Enemy phase:The last enemy on the map besides the boss.Turn 16Player phase:Only the boss is left - happy music now!Turn 17HorseslayerTurn 18Player phase:Renair challenges the boss because of weapon triangle advantage. He hits her. She'll equip the golden edge, because even a critical hit by the bloody axe can't kill Renair! (3x12 damage < 38 HP) Only she must be healed.Garath and Driscoll can support:At least 50% correctEnemy phase:So anyone else should be able to finish him.Turn 19Player phase:Gabriel does it and gets a good reward for it! At least his level ups weren't disappointing! Finally Renair seizes and this chapter is done... GODTHANKS!It was by far the most annoying one for me for several reasons. Difficulty, RNG-screwness and my bad playwise!

MisterIceTeaPeach
Good job! I hope you're ready for the next chapter, with more snowy landscapes, and more reinforcements from everywhere! Thanks! [spoiler=Chapter 12a part 1] Finally I will fight Uther Enjo's sister Fleur is the wife of Uther - Interesting. Savanh must report his loss from the previous chapter. Their final mission: Defending castle Brynth. Fleur Melissa is here too. Now the reunion of Enjo's family can take place... ... or maybe not. They follow different interests. Definitely not the best sibling-relationship. She has very ambitious goals. Melissa is in a mess. I get a "Sonia déjà -vu", when I read this: Heartless, ruthless and merciless. I would like to slain her at once. Enjo gives a few information what to expect in the castle. Map of chapter 12a: It's a huge map! This castle consists of some little fortresses. However it's an outdoor map for the most part. Again your army is split in three groups, but you can bring more units to the map than in the previous chapter. You have more room so you can handle these enemies better. However don't underrestimate the foe. They're a huge number and have lots of weapons, which can screw you (will mention it a few paragraphs below). There's an armory and shop next to your starting point. Buy, if you need something. It will be definitely a LONG and TEDIOUS chapter, so be prepared for that! Also a chest is waiting for you to be opened. My formation: left group: Juan, Ilanice, Annelise, Amelia, Chester central group: Renair (stationary), Enjo (stationary), Garath, Kolbane, Asher right group: Arcus, Driscoll, Gabriel, Lia, Adrian, Marius The enemies are mainly cavaliers, soldiers, magic users, healers and a few archers. A few prepromoted enemies: Paladin with titanium weapons. The enemies are more flexible in their weapons from now on! A couple of halberdiers Long bows - Godthanks no ballista Killer weapons Effective weapons And new weapons: vicious spear has higher critrate than the bloody lance lucindar is basically a light brand. 2 range sword, which attacks the resistance of the opponent. There are more nasty weapons like bloody lance, axereaver and nosferatu. Make sure to check all the weapons of them. I forgot it a couple of times so I got a bad surpise. This chapter features two bosses: Savanh and Uther Savanh and Uther have still the same stats and weapons like they had in the previous chapter. The reward for beating Savanh will be a bladed crest (= hero crest). Uther will drop a halberd. Both aren't placed on a throne, so I expect them to move, if someone's in their attack range. Savanh will be a victim of Gabriel. Arcus and Driscoll shall deal with Uther. Battle preparations will be continued in the next part. MisterIceTeaPeach
[spoiler=Chapter 12a part 2]Rank:Augury:Lots of cavaliers and magic users.Bring the horseslayer to the map you got in the previous chapter!Have enough weapons, because this will be long and intensive chapter.Enjo must talk to Melissa :Melissa is a level 12 sister (female version of the monk). Her stats especially magic and speed are pretty meh, although she's still faster than Asher, who's some levels higher than her. Asher and Lia will reach level 20 soon so she would be an excellent replacement for one of them. Her stave and light level are very good: Stave level A already! Her recruitment can be problematic, because she covers the attack range of Savanh. I guess he moves, so I must recruit Mellisa and kill Savanh in the same turn to avoid any problems.Chapter 12a is a defeat boss mission. SInce there are two bosses, you must kill both to finish this chapter.Don't expect it will be a short and easy run! Lots of enemies with powerful weapons are thrown to you and more reinforcements are on their way!Play very carefully! Turtling isn't a bad idea! The left group with all the fliers will join Renair's group very soon. In the first turns my fliers can go shopping. The right group should handle all these enemies. Arcus will be my wall again I also have more powerful units like Driscoll and Gabriel and my bard.Turn 1Player phase:Formation of the right group. Arcus decoys lots of enemies. One of them is the archer with the bloody bow.Buy a couple of hurbats, iron and steel swords.Enemy phase:Garath's first crit. Not his last one! It will be critted a lot in this chapter! My shieldTurn 2Player phase:Two kills in a row for Marius.Three stats are a rarity in this chapter. Arcus will be sent to the thicket to decoy the paladin with the titanium sword / lance.Look, how tanky the mages are! Even Kolbane can barely kill this one with a bloody edge. Another crit.Buy one heal, mend, restore and shinebolt. Asher can't use it yet, but Melissa.Enemy phase:They go for Gabriel instead of Marius. Excellent, because I have one enemy less to fight now! Gabriel is in the thicket.Garath's crit #2Weapon disadvantage only for this moment!Tornado?! How did I overlook it?Turn 3Player phase:This tornado sage appears in the beginning of turn 2 so I didn't overlook her in the map overview. Gust has the highest accuracy of all the weapons I've ever seen yet. Tornado makes the situation much more complicated for me. I must kill the paladin, but I also must make sure that Arcus or Adrian don't die. Tornado will oneshot Adrian.Arcus can't 2RKO him. Not good! But I have a plan!Actually a decent level up.Driscoll rescues Adrian so Gabriel can kill the paladin. Driscoll won't be doubled by tornado. Now everyone is safe! Now the misery begins!Don't worry - more crappy levels will come as reinforcements!Renair and Kolbane can support finally:Enemy phase:ExpectedTurn 4More reinforcements appeared: Two cavaliers in the fortress, where Renair and co are in. Player phase:I'll ignore this sage for the rest of this chapter.Enemy phase:Crit #3 He benefits by the C-support with Renair. The horseslayer isn't too great tbh.Magic doesn't work on Gabriel! He will decoy Savanh because of the weapon triangle advantage. And he can poison him.Turn 5Player phase:More reinforcements from the same spots like in the previous turn. Garath needs healing so badly. It's absolutely worth for nothing. It will be her last level up anyway. Even Juan is almost as fast as her.Otherwise Garath wouldn't survive it.Arcus's group will move to the west to join all the other units.Enemy phase:Yeah, he'd die.Wow, this cavalier does more damage than Kolbane. I'm regretting it already that I didn't bring him in the two previous chapters. He's frail. No crit!No more danger for Marius.Turn 6More reinforcementsPlayer phase: Attacking defenseless healers is fun! I use Enjo just because of maythunder. It's his personal tome. Otherwise I'd bench him already, because Amelia kicks ass. @ Fantasia Wait for part 3 or 4 or read the second spoiler! TheMoniker
1: Nice work on the map! But you should probably take those pictures after the prep screen is done(because sometimes stuff happens), and, you can turn off the terrain display in options(as well as the objective display too, then the only thing you'll have is the cursor!). 2: Did you notice that the sage's tower has a crack on the bottom? Smash it for special surprise... that is, if this advice isn't coming so late it's worthless.
MisterIceTeaPeach
[spoiler=Chapter 12a part 3]Continuing turn 6 player phase:Enemy phase:My units are better in doing critical hits. However it will change soon! Only one more exp. Kolbane needs more strength and defense.Turn 7Player phase:Is it kinda weird that's one of the best level ups in this chapter? And it even happened to the "Jagen"...Now I'm critted! But only 12 damage.I take the speed. Don't expect too many stats in the upcoming level ups. The average is about two stats. Two crits by an enemy in a row! Godthanks the last one! He copies Driscoll.Enemy phase:Garath can't dodge for shit. He always gets hit, although the enemies have a hitrate <50%.This cavalier is worse than the others, if Kolbane can do as much damage as him.Marius is on a pillar.Driscoll has even so much luck that shinebolt can't crit him anymore. I must admit he's one of the best fighters, I've ever used yet: Strong, not slow and has an incredibly good skill for a fighter.Lia gets hit. No big deal.Turn 8Cavalier and mage reinforcements appear from north and a monk with shinebolt appears from the east. They all come towards me. However no more cavalier reinforcements in the fortress. Garath and Kolbane can be moved to the north in the next turn.Player phase:Shall I be happy about four stats for an unit, which actually only needs three? (HP, defense and resistance)Garath's crit #4! Actually the horseslayer is pretty bad. Juan can't use it effectively and the other lanceusers would lose tons of speed due to their low con.Ilanice and Amelia can get the B-support. If you remember, the C-support was glitchy and so is the B-support.Enemy phase:Driscoll is in trouble again, because I forgot to check out the enemies' equipment once more!Marius has fun with the reinforcements. He's still placed on the pillar and won't leave it for a quite while.Amelia shall deal with these monks. Someone else can get the kill experience.Turn 9Player phase:He's level 19 already and still has 9 speed. The "two stats level ups" continue!I'm turtling this entrance with Juan and Arcus, because lots of reinforcements are coming from there.Enemy phase:Chester turtles too.Peggies ususally tend to have high luck and resistance. Annelise doesn't belong to them.Turn 10Player phase:No, it becomes even worse! At least his magic is maxed... Very risky, but it works. Dear God! What have I done to deserve this? ; [Lia and Juan can support:What a strange guy.My bard and healers will get lots of levels in this chapter.Enemy phase:Marius is still stuck on the pillar, because the appearing of reinforcements hasn't stopped yet. It's probably the first time that Juan has >90% hitrate. Thanks to Lia!Forgot to equip him the hurbat.Turn 11Player phase:I still can't move forward to the north, because reinforcements are still coming to me. I must clean them out till I can decoy the second halberdier in the west and then Savanh and Melissa. The mages are the largest problem, because they hit hard. This chapter requires much patience and concentration from you!Godthanks I've a great magekiller. At least these are the most wanted stats so I can be happy even about a two "stat level up".However Ilanice has much better hitrate than Annelise. Even without the B-support with Amelia she'd have almost a 20% better hitrate. Her main problem: Terrible speed! 1: Nice work on the map! But you should probably take those pictures after the prep screen is done(because sometimes stuff happens), and, you can turn off the terrain display in options(as well as the objective display too, then the only thing you'll have is the cursor!). Good idea, thanks!I always wanted to know how to turn off the display, because it covers my units in some cases. Really annoying. 2: Did you notice that the sage's tower has a crack on the bottom? Smash it for special surprise... that is, if this advice isn't coming so late it's worthless. Alright, have checked it out! (this was obviously the hint in the augury)Will show this secret! Blaze The Great
Every time I see Garath not counterattacking someone at range with the hatchet, it takes me about five seconds to remember that it isn't two range. Guess that comes naturally with being a huge Sacred Stones fan. Also, what does the Awl Pike do? Maybe you've explained it already and I missed it. X-Naut
I don't think it's in the description, but from observations the Awl Pike hits Resistance instead of Defense. It makes Uther pretty dangerous in tandem with his Spear and S Lances.
