Hardin
Nintendo has launched a third Fire Emblem website today, naturally it's the official site for IF. It doesn't have too much right now, but it does have some nice artwork and shows off a special edition version being sold.

MoonlitSonata
Anyone that understands Japanese can make out what all is included in the special edition? It looks like the last item on the list is an artbook, and the first item looks likely to be the game itself (duh) but what's the middle item? Special Edition 3DS? Bloo
So it looks like the two versions thing is official for Japan at least.
Quintessence
If it turns out to be pokemon fe i wont have a problem, I'll buy both versions. are they insinuating avatar genders are canonic respecting the country already? Thing is, if they're sold as separate versions, that means that one will have Hoshido's story and the other one Nohr's story, then where are the 'ifs' and the decision making? VincentASM
Anyone that understands Japanese can make out what all is included in the special edition? Also the official site is quite interesting... I'm trying to translate the blurbs. Here's the first part. At the heart of this world is a conflict between the peace-loving kingdom of Hoshido and the glory-seeking kingdom of Nohr. As the strained relationship between the two nations reaches its critical point, a large-scaled conflict breaks out. The protagonist was born in the Hoshidan royal family, but raised by the Nohrian royal family; he or she is faced with a great decision. The keyword for this new Fire Emblem is "if". With Hoshido and Nohr as the backdrops, the player must make choices, which will affect the story, battles and recruitable characters, while progressing two very extremely different stories. Fire Emblem if HoshidoA story focusing on protecting your Hoshidan birthland and royal relatives from the Nohrian invasion. Outside the main story, you can earn experience and funds and freely develop your characters; perfect for those who enjoy freedom. Fire Emblem if Nohr In this story, you work with the Nohrian royal family to battle the internal conflicts within Nohr itself. Compared to Hoshido, the difficulty is higher, with limited chances to earn experience and funds. Edited April 2, 2015 by VincentASM
Awakener_
So story-wise Hoshido is more traditional FE while gameplay style is more toward Awakening. Opposite for Nohr, a non-traditional FE story but more traditional gameplay style such as limited funds and experiences. Interesting... MoonlitSonata
I just hope Nohr isn't like Lunatic mode difficulty. I want to get all the story and I'm only an "okay" FE player dammit. Inb4 someone LTCs Nohr mode and its easier to LTC than Hoshido mode.
VincentASM
All the key official site stuff Some minor details about the 3rd path DLC. Hint: You don't side with Hoshido or Nohr.

I'm getting the feeling that the Hoshido path is more meant to cater to the newer fans brought in by Awakening, and the Nohr path is trying to cater more to fans of the older FE games. Just a feeling, I could be completely off the mark here. Edited April 2, 2015 by Monado Boy
