Thank you for the interesting find.

However, one thing perplexes me greatly: how can the guard stance have a 100% activation rate? I assume, then, that it doesn't block all damage like in Awakening, but do we know any specifics?

However, this new reclass info confuses me. It's effectively the amalgamation of the SD and Awakening systems with 2 class tress as opposed to 3. right? Like in SD, you don't lose your level. This is good and bad for a game with limited EXP. It's good that you can't reset levels and grind, but I'm curious what's stopping someone from reclassing into a class with higher growth rates, then classing back to base.

What's wrong with that? It could be a good strategical decision to help slightly patch up a certain stat for a unit who's normally lacking in that stat, at the possible expense of others. In Awakening, growth rates are determined mostly by the character's base growths, and class growths have relatively little variance so the difference wouldn't be that huge and definitely not gamebreaking.

I think there's a shield gauge that depletes over time until they can't guard. Hopefully the number is balanced so it's not too little nor too much.

If there's no level reset, you'd need to take care to not miss the skills you want too. And, in the Nohr campaign, you won't have infinite money to just change everyone's classes all the time anyway.

-Pegasus Knights are unisex, and the promotion is called Pegasus Warrior and their secondary weapon is bow.

That's weird. Weirder than Pegasus Knights now being unisex.

Wait, since Hoshido apparently doesn't have normal horses, and Pegasus Knight's promotion can now use bows, could it be that Archers don't promote to Bow Knight... but to that instead? Awesome!

Here's my report

TBH, I'm still kinda half-awake, so slap me if I messed anything up.

Finally, a tiny bit on the story.

Unlike previous games in the series, this game takes place in a “completely new world”, although there are familiar elements that are sure to bring a smile to those who have played Awakening.

As we’ve seen, Hoshido is based on ancient Japanese culture, while Nohr is built on the series’s traditional Western fantasy setting.

While Nohr is Western-themed, it also carries a dark atmosphere; its castle even stands in the middle of a giant hole in the ground. So there’s a feeling it’s not your typical Western fantasy nation.

In terms of the setting, Hoshido is a pacifist kingdom with exceptional peace and order. In contrast, Nohr is subject to terrible weather conditions, leading to poor crop yields and a lack of law and order. In order to expand Nohr’s influence, King Garon orders his children to invade Hoshido.

Thus the royal siblings fight for Nohr, although they each harbour their own hidden thoughts. Meanwhile the Hoshidan royals take up arms to repel the Nohrian invasion. As this happens, the hero–the Avatar–is stuck in between and forced to make a difficult choice…

I was thinking Hoshido might have some more special classes of their own. Samurai were traditionally skilled with both bow and spear/lance. And a sword but that's more of a sidearm for them.

Hell of a change, being able to snipe from mountains and other hard-to-reach terrain, though the image of pegasus warriors one-shotting each other amuses me to no end. lol

Sure, Dark Fliers could already do that, but magic being where it is on the new triangle would let them easily dodge axe users which they're traditionally weak against. They also probably nerfed Galeforce by making Dark Fliers no longer exist.

Apparently Javelins and similar ranged weapons cannot double attack. Presumably this only affects swords, axes and lances, not naturally ranged weapons (like tomes or hidden weapons).

:o

Guess that makes bows the best source of raw ranged physical damage now.

In case anyone was interested...

Going by this are Garon's motivations going along the line of Wind Waker Ganondorf?

I immediately went to Trabant v. Lenster from FE4-5...The main character may as well be called Altenna.

Maeda explains that when development started on the new game, one of the major challenges was to find ways to help newcomers enjoy the game without feeling too stressful.

One thing that came to mind was the timing of when to use valuable weapons (eg. saving them for a future mission), and it was perceived that this form of intense micro-management was too much for newcomers to properly enjoy.

Oh boy...

Thank for the info !

If Norh is really that crappy, it's understandable they want to have a better land, but it beg the question: if they have a hard time having anything, because if they have a hard getting food, they must have a hard time getting anything, how can they have an army, especially of that size ? How can they have that much of weapons and armors ?

Kind of the same coherence problems with Hoshido when I think about it.

It's maybe a second seal guys . In the screenshot , his level is 9 so how can he uses master seal or second seal . BTW , it's parallel proof. : ]

It looks more like a Master Seal, also I wonder if the max level of the Butler class isn't 10. because he seems to have a maxed stat. The green 14. Well, maybe it is the constitution ?.

EDIT: Never mind, I just realized that it was the stats for the class he was promoting to.

Wait, if it update the stats, why doesn't it update the level ?

I'm pretty sure Oboro is a dude, he/she isn't stacked like almost every other female character.

Oboro has dem moe eyes tho

because he seems to have a maxed stat. The green 14. Well, maybe it is the constitution ?.

Don't forget that green stats are stats boosted by weapons EDIT: though he doesn't have any equipped on that screen because Valk doesn't use knives....

Going by this are Garon's motivations going along the line of Wind Waker Ganondorf?

"My country lay within a vast desert. When the sun rose into the sky, a burning wind punished my lands, searing the world. And when the moon climbed into the dark of night, a frigid gale pierced our homes. No matter when it came, the wind always carried the same thing...Death. But the winds that blew across the green fields of Hyrule brought something other than suffering and ruin. I coveted that wind, I suppose."

Chills, man. That is such an awesome line coming from what I had always considered a one-sided character. I just hope they'll do him justice if he shows up in the next Zelda game.

Garon might turn out to be somewhat sympathetic after all, although I don't count on it.

Oh, good point L95, I forgot about that ! But... he doesn't have anything equipped, so why ?...
He seems to have a +2 skill, does green stats include skills ?

It reads Parallel Proof (not Master Proof), so it's more like reclassing that doesn't reset the level back to 1.

Ah, it could be the skill. But, ugh, them using green for boosts, I wonder how capped stats are indicated? (Maybe they have a glowing animation or something, idk)
