I'll get back to Super Thracia once I finish this one, if I manage to do so. Pursuit, the best ability of the game, allowing you to slaughter legions of enemy, which is basically needed for most of the children... I won't be using any characters with that. Too broken for me. Who are the chosen ones then? - Noish - Ardan - Lex - Ethlin - Cuan - Diadora - Levin - Sylvia - Unpromoted Dew - Unpromoted Lachesis - Aideen - Claude - Tiltyu That looks promising I guess. One half will be crap, the other will be great. Let's see what we get in gen 2, then! - Lester - Rana - Delmud - Arthur - Tinny - Leen or Laylea - Corple or Sharlow - Femina - Unpromoted Leaf - Unpromoted Altenna - Nanna - Unpromoted Patty - Hannibal Not that promising. +Pursuit Ring being banned. I cannot use Sigurd, nor Celice. I allow use of Julia only and only if I have no way of defeating Yurius at the Final Chapter (and I have an idea for killing him that doesn't imply the sleep sword) The potential fathers are : - Jamka - Holyn - Ardan - Noish - Claude - Levin - Dew - Lex The couples are probably going to be -UPDATED- : - HolynxBriggid. As I cannot promote Patty, I'll need her to do at least something in combat. She would be able to use Hero Swords. - FuryxDeath. I want Femina, so she's dead meat. Or maybe she'll be saved if I manage to pair Levin with Tiltyu before, which is unlikely to happen. - TiltyuxLevin. A no-brainer, I'll need holsety for those early game chapters. - Ayraxdeath or AyraxDew. She can get her hands on Lex if I'm not careful. I don't really care as long as I get the hero sword and that Dew does not steal any important wife. - LachesisxLex. Delmud is going to be my main hitter for the 2nd Gen along with Arthur, so I'll need to get him promoted fast. As the Elite Ring is going to Levin, it's obviously Lex that'll marry Lachesis. - SylviaxDeath. Barrier Sword + Berserk Staff. Plus Sharlow gets Elite, meaning he'll be less of a pain to train. - ClaudexAideen. I'll need as many staffs as possible on Lana. Earlygame is going to be the most painful G2 part, so the more staffs I can get, the better it will be. Lester is also a bow user, meaning he'll be less impactful than Delmud or Arthur. I'm probably going to do LexxLachesis (for Elite on my main combat unit on G2) and ClaudexAideen (Early Silence and Sleep are more valuable than a "good" bow unit). I think I'll sadly have to kill off Sylvia once I won't need her if she falls in love with someone. I hope I won't go mad too. Let's say that I think I'll face a lot of game overs though. [spoiler=To Jungby we ride! (part 1)] Story dump skipped, I mean, who cares about the story, right? I don't care about Midayle (he can even die in a fire because innate pursuit), but I'd like to have you. Could you join my team now? Time for the man to fight! Sigurd, stay in the castle and do something with Alec, I don't know... Playing cardgames? You can do anything as long as you don't annoy me. This is Noish, our first unit. His growths aren't astounding (20% in speed is meh and means he'll be doubled by any swordie with Pursuit without the speed ring) but he can use Swords, which are by far the best weapon type of this game. He can also use lances in case I enter Lance-land. He'll try to be a Sigurd-Lite, despite being 1000 light-years away from him because of Pursuit. His skillset is okay. Critical means he can pull out some unexpected OHKOes, but don't expect it to proc a lot now, simply because of his base skill. 7% of activating it for now, and my luck is... Really bad. This is Ardan. He has thwompy bases, along with one of the best skills in the game after pursuit : Ambush. Ambush is awesome because it allows unit to basically kill enemies before they get them. Here we go! See? That's why pursuit sucks! It does nothing if you're OHKOed! wait this is the case for all other skills in the game And here goes the first reset! Thanks Noish for your amazing dodge-rate! Resets : - Dodging is overrated : 1 Hopefully it goes better. Yes. Yes. GIMME. Lex is AWESOME. Definitely going to be my MVP on this run. Why? Ambush + Elite. Ambush is already great, and makes him an already good father. Add to that Neir Blood increasing the defense of his children. And now... Add to that Elite. That ability which doubles his xp gain. That means I can easily put him to lv10 at the end of this chapter, or even more, and promote him at the next one. Lex is awesome, even in a regular run. But on a run where my units won't double, he'll be top tier. Go to the bench, you pathetic excuse for a mage. but if you burn to death midir you might come into the team He starts his first fight by a dodge. I have a good feeling about him. wat it exists There is actually a tutorial on how to visit villages there, and why you should do this. I'm amazed I never noticed that until now. All you need to do is to send Sigurd back to the castle. Wait. Who would be stupid enough to send the unit who can solo the game back to the castle? Thwomp, ride! And Noish charges on him and kills him. Good boy. wait what how why oops FIRST GAME OVER GUYS! ON THE FIRST CHAPTER I'M SO PROUD OF MYSELF I DID IT I FAILED THE PROLOGUE AWESOME Resets : - Dodging is overrated : 1 - Roads suck : 1 NEW UNITS YEAAAAH Ethlin is... Pretty bad. Her innate skill is critical, and she has 11% to proc it. But her strength and defenses are quite awful. She'll be relegated to healbot duty. Cuan is... Alright. Being Lance-locked in Axe-land isn't that great, but I can make a man out of him I guess. Time for another strat. As you can see, I put Ardan to defend the castle from the bandits. Selling Sig's weapons, not that he'll need them. Thwomped. Cuan and Ethlin are an amazing Jeigan duo. Noish finishes this guy, and gains his first level up! Noish, lv4 : HP, Str, Luck, Def. Wait. 4 stats in an FE4 lv up? Something is wrong there. Another of these annoying bandits die. Funny how enemy AI prioritizes Ethlin because her defenses are trash. NOISH CAN DODGE. You know what's awesome with the church? All of your hps are back. Ardan kills this mook... And Cuan finishes another. Then Ethlin heals Noish. Who rides against the enemy! And Lex gets a lv up! Lex, lv5 : Hp, Str, Spd, Luck, Def. The game seems to be really nice with me. Excepted most of their hits actually hit my characters. Anna still hates me. How it's looking down there. So... Will Nin and his troup of Pursuitless characters manage to defeat this game? How many game overs shall be faced before heading to the end of this adventure? You'll see this later on Jungby, Part 2! Charge is awesome because I don't have pursuit, and Critical is always welcome. ARDAN WILL PROTECT THE CASTLE. Yay, lv up! Ardan, lv4 : HP, Str, Def. Again, 3rd good lv up in a row... Am I in FE4 or in FE13? COME. ON. She failed to dodge all the hits of AXEMEN. WITH A SLIM SWORD. Resets : - Dodging is overrated : 2 - Roads suck : 1 More defensive formation now to protect the one who can't dodge. Noish is seriously doing a great job. Unlike Cuan, he can dodge and hit back. Yay! Oh boy, what is it? Ethlin, lv2 : HP, Spd, Res. Decent enough for me, girl! This dude. He hit every time Ardan. With a 31%. See how bad my luck can get? Oh yeah, RIP citizens there. Noone is in range to save this, and truthfully, I don't care. It doesn't give anything of value to me, aside from MONEY. This one, however, gives me a speed ring. Despite the fact I don't get pursuit on any of my units, speed ring remains important for Noish not to get doubled by the Swordie Jerk on the arena. So I totally need that. Seriously, Noish is awesome there. Finally killing that jerk with the hand axe... To get another lv up! Lex, lv6 : HP, Str. Definitely looking good for one of my powerhouses. Two core stats out of three. (for this run, the core stats are HP, Str and Def. WHO NEEDS SPEED WHEN YOU HAVE HOLSETY) Ethlin dodging? LE GASP! Lex kills the bandit up there and gets another lv up, which is... Lex, lv7 : HP, Str, Mag, Luck and Def. Yep, a Magic stat increase. Why not. Great level up though. FINALLY. There you go, Cuan! And Noish gets the kill, along with a nice lv up! Noish, lv5 : PV, Skl, Spd, Def. No Str but I'll take it. Def is awesome. Healing Cuan so he doesn't get killed... But he still does because Javelin gives him negative speed and therefore he can't dodge anything. Resets : - Dodging is overrated : 2 - Roads suck : 1 - Lances suck : 1 Putting Cuan in a better position, then healing Noish for him not to get killed. Meanwhile, Lex is still doing a great job, killing anything that dares to stand in his way. While Cuan kills this guy and levels up! Cuan, lv5 : HP, Skill, Luck. SHIN LEVEL DELUXE. AWESOME. Ethlin also gets a lv up off-screen, which is : Ethlin, lv3 : HP. The first bad lv up of the run, and done by someone who fails at dodging, of course! *thanks Ethlin* Aaaaand Lex misses. I could have saved the village if it wasn't for that. BLAME IT ON 92% MISS GUYS. Ardan's move is awful. Seriously. And FINALLY this jerk gets killed. Noish kills another dude, and levels up! Noish, lv6 : Str, Skl, Spd, Lck. It's okay. Strength is always welcome, and speed is alright. The more he gets, the less doubled by Swordies he'll be. And Lex lives for another lv up! Lex, lv8 : HP, Str, Spd. Quite great. How can this happen, I'm in FE4... I think I'm getting luckblessed lv-wise and screwed for hit-rates. Yeah, Anna's annoying. And Ehtlin gets another lv from healing Ardan! Ethlin, lv4 : HP, Str, Spd, Lck, Def. ... All is forgiven. Ardan thwomps some dude and gets too a lv up! ALL HAIL THE THWOMP. Ardan, lv5 : HP, Str, Def. THE THWOMP DOES NOT CARE ABOUT SPEED. HE ONLY CARES ABOUT SMASHING STATS. And Noish levels up too! Noish, lv7 : HP, Skl. Man.. You got me awesome lv ups, and now that one... I guess I can allow that. Maybe. Don't disappoint me next time, else you'll be... Oh wait he's required because I can't get a lot of units. He also gets the speed ring to ensure he'll get past the Swordie in the Arena. Hey, guys, you know what I'm seeing there? A FARM-BOT. Yaaaay Not even shameful there. RIP in pieces DiMaggio. The result of the training session : Ethlin, lv5 : HP, Str, Skl, Spd (good) Lex, lv9 : HP, Def (2/3, so also good, but could see improvement) Lex, lv10 : HP, Str, Lck (2/3, good, but could still see improvement) Next time in the no-pursuit Run of FE4 : Ardan. JOIN ME JOIN ME JOIN ME JOIN ME The strategy : - Cuan chips - Ardan thwomps - Noish chips - Lex kills - Ethlin heals Rinse and repeat for EVERY. MOB. THERE. IS. Nice formation, guys! A+ for Effort, E for intelligence. TIME FOR SIGURD TO USE HIS AWESOME RECRUITEMENT POWARZ But these suck. No wonder why the only unit he'll be able to recruit without a special condition is Lachesis, and he doesn't even recruit her knights. You're bad at this job, Sigurdo. But Ethlin will take the Silver Sword. This fight goes on... And on... AND ON... DIE THIS BOSS. EVADE -4 MY BUTT. HE GETS +30 FORT BONUS Either my units' accuracy is horrendous (Cuan, Lex), either they don't end up doing efficient damage (Ardan, Noish, Ethlin). BOY I WISH I HAD SIGURD Therefore, I send the most reliable unit... I BELIEVE IN YOU, LEX. STOP DODGING I have only 12 uses of the Live staff... And Jungby clearly is way too far for me to reach it... I'm scared With this lv up, Gerard is down to 17 HP. Let's save her, pals! wherever she might be [spoiler=Da review] If the RNG keeps on being nice with him, I'm definitely sure he can be a great unit. His speed is great (for Noish), and he has great Str/Def/HP stats. No Res, but who cares, he'll get some when he promotes. He's a thwomp. Sadly, his speed isn't great and 16 def means you'll still take a hit. But 17 str is really good. I think I can work with him. This guy has "G1 MVP" written all over his face. 17 Str/14 Def with axes means he's gonna pack a lot of damage. And thanks to Elite, he'll probably promote at Chapter 1! Cuan = Chipping damage. I can't do more with him, because he never procs continue. (he has 12% with the Javelin and 18% with the steel lance, but it still fails to proc) Right now, she's a healbot. Her Str is too low to make her look like a frontline unit, and same goes for her defense stat. Maybe that would change once I buy her the Silver Sword. I also buy a couple of weapons for my characters, notably the Silver Sword for Ethlin. The end of the Arena. Ethlin got haxxed till death by the General (seriously, I've had dozen of times where it was just a lot of 78% misses coupled with 25% misses, with no Critical activation whatsoever), while Lex and Ardan couldn't get past the Mage without HAXX. As for Cuan, he's just bad and can't get past the Axe Armor. Both armies move, in order to clash each other! Don't order her around, you red unit. I hope we won't. Sad your class gets pursuit. Oh well. Why do you sent an army of Axe dudes where you could have sent bow users that will be able to touch Dew? We'll never know. And his other pocket army is spawning too. The place where I plan to join both armies. I don't want to get into Ayra's group "DEATH RANGE" and I don't know where do you trigger Gandolf's group. I want to play safe there. Something I love in FE4 are the wonderful formations ennemies make. Always sticking to each other, to form some beautiful thingy. Though strategy wise that totally sucks. I don't know if it's their bad luck or it's that they just suck. BEHOLD THE POWER OF THE FIVE DAMAGE BANDIT! ALONG WITH HIS ARCHER BROTHER WHO DEALS 3 DAMAGE! This is gonna be a massacre. "Keep the formation guys! They won't be able to defeat us if we stick together!" That is wrong in so many ways. Cute formation there, I guess? Ah, and these two blondies are Dew, and Aideen. Anyone on his first blind-playthrough will think that either Dew, either Midir is a girl. Just look at that hair and that face. Seriously. Dew is a bad unit before promotion, and there, he'll be just horrid. Sorry Dew, but without Pursuit, you're a way too bad unit for me to use! Aideen is awesome. Staffbotting is great, and she can pass all her staffs over to Lana if I get her to marry Claude. Die. This guy will deal only three damage to him, and he can't even dodge. Pathetic. You know these guys suck when I can put Ethlin as a Frontliner. Seriously, all this fight is about my units dodging and hitting back or taking almost no damage. Oh boy the boss! What is he gonna do! MISS LIKE A FAILURE, OF COURSE How to formation -FE4- The only thing I have to do is to outrange these failures. These guys really are unlucky to get continue'd by Cuan when he procs it only 1/1000 times. You know what's awful about these vermins? They don't give me that many xp. Lex doesn't get even one point off killing mooks. Kinbois packs a lot if he hits though. 10 damage on his hand axe. Guys, I think you should start getting serious and stop doing that. Checkpoint reached! Now I can just let Dew dodgetank anything not being the Captain. (who gets 6% on him) Teamwork! This guy hurts like a truck with his silver axe though. Time for the man to fin... That must be the smartest AI I've ever seen in fire emblem. Healing shenanigans Sadly, while these guys won't attack Dew, he hits them like a fly. 3 on the bandit, 1 on the captain. Awesome. Go home, Captain. You're drunk. Our army is here to rescue the damsel in distress! wait Dew is not a lady More patheticness. Thankfully he just calls 2 bandits who move. If his whole pack got aggro'ed that might have had annoyed me at best. Teamwork again saves the day! RIP Village. I know I won't be able to save you and that I also WON'T save you. This is the range I don't wanna get in till my army is ready. Return staff, yay! *free grinding staff for Lachesis* NOW TIME TO TAKE ON GENOA I got to position my units as such so I would get a clear shot at the boss. TIME FOR ZIGURDO'S PHASE The strat : - Chip the boss with Lex - Then with Cuan, attack him and put him at low health SCREW YOU CUAN Resets : - Dodging is overrated : 2 - Lances suck SCREW YOU CUAN : 2 - Roads suck : 1 - Castle's Avoid Bonus suck : 1 - Hitting is overrated : 1 Erm. Where was I again? - Chip with Cuan And then, finish with Noish! - Wait for the reader's question "But, Nin, Noish can't use canto because his mvt is bad, so how are you gonna Dew?" - Return Noish back to the castle - Seize with ZIGURDO On next turn, Ayra's going to attack Sigurd. Don't know if it's because he's the one "guarding" Genoa or just because he's weaponless though. I don't care about that one. It's an unit I won't use getting attacked by an unit I won't use too. And as I do not allow myself to use the units I can't use to burn RNs, that means I would have had to redo the chapter if Ayra Astra'd him in the face. Thankfully that did not happen. Of flipping course. Don't forget I can't promote him. Doing this. Aideen will need a lot of money later on to buy all the staffs so she can give those to Lana. Of course, I always fight bosses with Lex so he can get xp. AAAAAND At last, he gets to lv20! And now, he gets 0 speed with other axes than Hand-ones! Isn't that fabulous? Moving on. wait wait I have forgotten something! I think this is the first time I ever think of getting this village in all of my FE4 playthroughs Oh yeah... That Sigyun, uh... Okay, we'll know that when we see her, I guess.
