Porn and gambling apparently.

Don't worry, it's SFW, barely.

And people complain about the direction FE is headed.

This is so bad, like so laughably bad. The complete disrespect for the fans, for their own creators, for the medium of art in general. This is enough to make me want to boycott Konami, I'll get MGSV used, even if I have to wait.

So glad Bloodstained exists at least. The sad fact is, unlike Capcom and Sega, who are dependant on video games to sustain themselves and are making an effort to fix themselves, Konami makes enough money on bullshit like this to sustain their avarice, never having to owe up to their mistakes.

Is it bad that I knew exactly what this was about just from reading the title?

As bad as this is I think things will naturally happen all the skilled developers like Kojima and the guy making Bloodstained leave and do other good things that people buy into. It may not seem like it now but things like this add up and after enough bad decisions they fall apart. Things run their course.

Sure, but I'd rather an IP just... End than die. You know? That's just embarrassing to look at.

If I must pay 60$ for that it must be of good quality... Because I can use google for free.

It's a pachinko machine, i.e. a slot machine with fancy graphics. You could end up spending a lot more than $60.

^Couldn't agree more.

I really hope that the promo is fake or something because it just cannot be... they can't go in that way with "Erotic and Violence" for Castlevania, after the disastrous Castlevania: LoD 2. I'm trying to think that this was just a nightmare and it will never happen... if not, then Konami is really going full R-tard.

Guess the only chance for another Castlevania game is to support Bloodstained.

No surprise here. Konami is sustaining itself on pachinko machines and spa/fitness centres and abandoning video games pretty much, so they'll use their old IPs in whatever way sees them fit. They'd already started using Castlevania for pachinko machines like seven years ago, but yeesh it wasn't this bad.

hum wait a minute... Is that Richter ? the Richter Belmont ? Why didn't they used another hero to make trash out of the serie (i don't know like gabriel, Alucard or the new "Simon") why it has to be Richter :(

Okay calm down, i must be positive a least they have retconned lord of shadow and Richter is the hero of a new "game", i guess... Ahh i can't be positive about this.

Smh.. it's the fellings about recent Fire Emblem games all over again.

Just why?

Really hope they don't go that way with Bloodstained. but I'm a little concerned since they already said something about "appealing to the players eye" in a video they released.

Konami is really getting into gear to ram it's teeth deep into Castlevania, ready to suck it dry until nothing is left but an empty husk. The willingness of companies to see their very own legacy as nothing but an expandable resource in the pursuit of the moneys is a lot more scary then Dracula could ever hope to be. I mean, how beneficial is a video game IP even going to be for this kind of thing? Especially one that obviously failed to earn the big cash that Konami wanted to get.

It really goes to show what a treasure it was that Nintendo was lead by an actual programmer. At least I can't imagine that someone like Iwata would have ever stopped valuing the names of games that he and his colleagues created through their own sweet and tears. Obviously you always need to get them moneys and sometimes you have to do things for it that you aren't proud of, that is a sad fact of life. But needless to say, Konami is giving me the impression that they care about absolutely nothing but the money. Not their name, not their legacy, not the hard work of their staff and most definitely not the fans of their franchises. And I really don't think that you have to succumb to this level of cynicism.

Hey, I liked Lord of Shadow too !

So, this trailer is for a Panchiko ? Eeeeh.. why ?... :/
... Why is there somekind of ... female Grant/Trevor ?

Erotic Violence... dear, I have internet for that.

Well, being a themed pachinko machine is nothing new. Even Berserk, Metroid and AoT has one. But having it named "Erotic Violence" is the new low. Castlevania is dead the moment they focus on the 3D games, at least for me.

Konami are being total creeps right now, complete with monitoring the social media accounts of their employees for grousing, forcing developers to act as janitors in their health clubs, constantly shuffling employees around in an effort to get them to quit, shaming people who take lunch breaks over loudspeaker...

They're basically gaslighting their entire Digital Entertainment division until they up and quit so they don't have to pay compensation.

Guess what guys!

New Silent Hill game!

...

...

...

And it's a pachinko machine.

On top of this Castlevania one, Konami really has just given up on gaming; MGS5 will be the last console offering from them, barring a miracle.

They still sell soccer games too (PES). I remember when they were hyping up their Fox Engine (the one that MGSV and Silent Hills runs on) and they showed a lot of promise and cool ways to employ its flexibility, but it turns out MGSV is gonna be the only game that uses it.

So, what do you guys think the inevitable Hideo Kojima Kickstarter will be?

Sucker bet, we already know he and Del Toro have decided to team up and finish what they started

Time to support Bloodstained more.

This so much. Iga is already doing another project and got funded for it not too long ago. The spirit of Castlevania will not die. Konami is just....well...I guess its time to put them to bed.

This is a horrible night to have a curse indeed.

To this I say let them. If they want to destroy their company let them drive talented and capable personel like Kojima away and let their products and profits suffer. As bad as this all is I just say let em die.

Have you read a certain report?

Basically, it came through one of MGS5's composers. In it, she stated that Konami was growing frustrated with Kojima due to his perfectionist nature; he wanted a delay to work on this, or that, or to polish the Fox Engine for better lighting, and so on. He would give the composer, say, a dozen ideas for in-game songs and then use maybe three of them. And then there's the licensing fees for some of the trailer music.

All that is to say, Kojima is a perfectionist; he couldn't work in a set, (small) budget. I'm pretty certain he's not going to be hitting up Kickstarter any time soon, with that in mind.

Is everyone's issue with the design or the focus? I honestly don't see how the design is any worse than, say, the Succubus from Symphony of the Night or one of the Camillas.

I was making a joke, I dunno if he'll do it, but I can see it happening if another company doesn't take him in. If anyone can raise a ton of money for a big-budget project on Kickstarter, it'd probably be him.

The focus. Sexy women have always been in Castlevania, but that's never been exploited in this way. Every Castlevania game leading up to this was at least a game that could be enjoyed, and perhaps a lot of guys will enjoy this pachinko machine, but it has no worth to Castlevania fans, no substance, just the sign of a company selling-out.
