Introduction

Good evening world! I come before you with a new RP for this site, one aimed at new and less experienced players. How fitting! For this will be the first Fire Emblem RP I shall have the honor of hosting! Fear not though, for this RP has an...experienced volunteer to assist, the great and mighty Shin!

Below, you shall find all the information you need to sign up and begin your journey!

This is a spreadsheet. It will contain a lot of useful numeric information. In addition to the spreadsheet, there will be a skype room set up for this RP, in which planning and discussion will take place. In-Character actions will be done in a dedicated In-Character thread.

As that might imply, you will need a skype for this. But really, that’s not a problem, because if you don’t have one, you really should get one anyway. It’s a really useful and jolly good fun. I got it, my grandmother has it, it’s good stuff.

I am looking for a relatively small group of people. I reiterate that this RP is meant for less experienced roleplayers, meaning having never participated in an RP before, or having only participated in one, and not necessarily extensively. In addition to offering a gateway to the roleplaying community, Treasure also aims to provide a place for these roleplayers to grow and improve their roleplaying skill.

Currently, there is no limit to how many players I'm looking to participate, but I would like to have at least six before beginning.

General Gameplay

Supports will be awarded when I deem appropriate.

Effective weapons will have triple might against the appropriate foe.

Each weapon level has a certain amount weapon experience required to reach it. Weapon experience is maintained when increasing weapon rank.

D- 30 WEXP

C- 70 WEXP

B- 120 WEXP

A- 180 WEXP

S- 250 WEXP

All weapons will have customized stats which can be found on the spreadsheet. While the initial list on shows the basics, more weapons will be added as we go along.

Hit = Luck + (2 x Skill) + Weapon Hit

Avoid = Luck + (2 x Speed)

Critical Hit = Skill + Weapon Critical

Critical Evade = Luck

Staves grant double the EXP per heal they would in FE7.

Other calculations are stolen borrowed from FE7.

Even if your unit is defeated in battle, that doesn't necessarily mean they die or are out of the game. There are indeed penalties, but you'll usually be able to continue, unless you die a lot.

If the RNG screws you over, you'll get some compensation to help you keep up.

World:

History of the World

Far beyond the horizon lies a small group of islands, the Torini Islands, who themselves have no lands but their own visible from shore. There are three main islands, each a few miles apart. Two are of comparable size, Ios and Sikinos. However, the ‘capital’ of the islands, so to speak, is the largest, Thira. These islands are simpler places, filled with people of simple lifestyle. They live in villages and towns, grow and fish for what food they need, and live in relative peace. There isn’t really a central government, the towns govern themselves through meetings whenever an issue presents itself. Travel and trade between the islands is done freely. The weather is pleasant, the people are pleasant, and life is pleasant, and also boring.

These islands have never been subject to colonization or conquering. War has been almost unknown to them, but not fully. One hundred years ago, explorers from Hellas, the name of both a continent and the nation controlling it, first discovered the island, bringing with them the secrets of their wartime technologies, both metal and magic. Healing magic was already existent on the island though, which has remained along with their traditional natural medicines as the most common means of doctoring on the islands.

Despite not taking over the islands, some people from the more crowded, dirty, and medieval world of Hellas have moved to the fresher, quieter respite of the islands. It has also become something of a vacation spot the Hellenes as well, who lodge with the natives in exchange for money or, sometimes, as the Torinis are a charitable people to foreigners. Inns are rarely free however, and some inns are run by Hellenes immigrants seeking to make a profit from their former countrymen. Hellenic and Torini are different languages, though no reasonably intelligent Hellene would go to the islands without an idea of how to speak their language. However, the Torini might have had other exposure to the outside world before that…

Old scrolls found on the mainland and paintings uncovered in the Torini’s uncover that a legendary treasure hunter, adventurer, friend of many powerful maguses and protagonist of more tales and stories than can be counted, Talibo, might have visited the islands, being recorded by them as the legendary figure Tahvo. This evidence brings up the possibility, and rumors have risen, that four centuries ago, Talibo came to the islands, and there hid a treasure of his greater than any other he’d brought into his collection. As Talibo’s legends put him as among the wealthiest men in the world, this has enticed many treasure hunters to make a journey to the islands. In the past few months, an influx of Hellenes have come to the islands, though not enough to flood or crowd the society. Most leave after only a month or two, not having brought the resources to make much progress.

Mythology of the World

Native Torini beliefs state that there is a supreme creator, creatively called the Supreme One. This genderless being rules over the universe, accompanied by a multitude of spirits. All of these spirits were once humans, though they proved themselves worthy in one way or another. As reward, the Supreme One offered them a deal so that they would have great favor in life, and when they died, they would become immortal spirits of something pertaining to their worthiness. Great soldiers became spirits of weapons and warfare, great farmers became spirits of field and vine, great artists became spirits of creativity and inspiration. Sometimes, these spirits take up muse-like roles, offering subtle assistance when a worthy man invokes them, such as turning things to their favor or granting them ideas.

One of the most famous stories is of Kauli, a vine grower who gave a large portion of grapes to a village king, and in exchange, was given a servant named Pika. However, this servant was physically feeble and of less than average mind. When Kauli discovered this, he forgave the king, and instead took care of Pika. Pika insisted however that he work for Kauli, as he was a servant and that was his duty. Impressed by Pika’s loyalty, Kauli allowed his daughter to marry him and favored him greatly. Because his kindness, Kauli was made a spirit of the vine, and because of his work ethic, Pika was made a spirit of workmen. Though the idea of servants and kings are long lost on the Torini people, the story remains popular.

Certain trinkets are idols are said to carry the presence of spirits, increasing their power over a person’s life if they have one. It is not uncommon for many spirits to be of the same thing, though the stories are rather consistent across the islands. However, while these beliefs are popular, beliefs from Hellas have also gained some popularity. These are largely secular beliefs, without any concept of creation, instead that the universe has always existed. In addition, these beliefs hold that the cosmos has a sort of power where those who work hard are benefited with greater yields and those who are lazy are given lesser production, regardless of their morals.

Places Of Interest:
Thira: The largest Torini island, the first to be discovered by the Hellas and the most common for them to visit today. It’s terrain is the most diverse, with jungles in the east, an elevated peninsula in the west, deserts, long beaches and open fields.

Perissa (1): A port town on the South Beaches of Thira. The most populous community on the island in terms of both Hellenes and Torinis. While the South Beaches in general are the most popular landing place for foreigners, Perissa is especially so. Some structures, usually foreign businesses, are made of stone, though traditional wooden huts are most popular.

Fira (2): Expansive, if spread out villages on the cliffs which make up the edges of Thira’s peninsula. It’s rather isolated, seeing little tourism, and the land has been cleared for the wood which makes up its structures. As a result, it’s a wide open area with an abundance of wind.

Oia (3): A small fishing village and port on the northern side of Thira, connected to Perissa by road. Those traveling from Thira to other islands most often go through Oia.

Ios: An island which is mostly hills and valleys. There do indeed exist woodlands, but most of the land is clear, and much of that clear land is in use for growing grapes, grain, and sheep.

Chora (4): A port city on Ios which is most commonly how travelers arrive to the island. It’s the largest town on the island of Ios, and flourishes on the free trade between the islands.

Skarkos (5): Atop a hill lies a village which is close to the Hellas concept of a manor: a large group of people who are either of the Skarkos family or in service to them. The reach of this family in terms of land is quite wide, as much of northern Ios is seen as their farmland.

Sikinos: An island with is most grown over with jungles and forests, the latter occurring in the north east because of water currents affecting climate. Mountains in the east have also created a rain shadow over part of the island, resulting in an arid desert.

Allopronia (6): A settlement on the west of Sikinos, how most people arrive at the island, and also a place more affected by the influence of Hellas than others. Sikinos was sparsely populated compared to the other islands, so it became a popular place for Hellenes to hunt, move or visit. Allopronia began as a very, very small village, but off the influx of visitors grew into a city of stone, taverns and lodges.

How You Come In

Two Hellenes have come to Thira in search of treasure. Compared to their rivals, they seem quite a noble, quite a determined, and quite a confident pair. They arrive on a village on the southern coast called Perissa, coming off of a ship with naught but a heavily stocked wagon. They come to the center of the town, and their proclaim this message.

“Gentlemen, ladies, hark! My name is Saban-”

“And mine Nasba!”

“We come here with an offer which has no equal to anything in our lifetimes! We two come looking for competent healers, warriors and adventures! What need have we for these people? To find the treasure of Talibo, of course! Oh, but rest assured people, this is no scam, and we are no quitters! No, we are going to find that treasure, and it’s spoils we will share with those who accompany us to find it! Now, I know many have come before and left these fine islands empty handed, but rest assured people, we have something they did not! Nasba?”

“We have a map!”

With those words, the one named Nasba raised his hand high into the air, a cylindrical contained clasped in it. Some members of the crowd gasped, other’s scoffed. A month ago, another Hellene, Betram, came through, claiming to have a map as well. He wasn’t asking for help though, instead boasting that he and his rude troop would find the treasure. Though they were on the island still and known to be alive, they’d found nothing, instead camping in the eastern forest.

How will you react to that? Keep your answer in mind, you’ll need it for the In-Character Thread.

Character Creation:

Step 1: Pick a Class. Your options are Foot Unit, Mounted Unit, Pegasus Rider, Wyvern Rider, Thwomp and Thief.

Step 2: Allocate your base and growth points. Usually, each Base Point translates into one point of any stat and 1 growth point translates into 1% growth in any stat. However-

1 Base Point = 2 HP

1 Base Point = 2 Luck

1 Base Point = 1 HP and 1 Luck

1 Growth Point = 2% HP Growth

1 Growth Point = 1.5% Luck Growth

1 Growth Point = 1% HP Growth and .75% Luck Growth

Additional Movement and SP cannot be obtained.

Outside of the bonuses from your weapon, all non-HP stats cap at 9. HP caps at 26.

Growth Rates will be rounded to multiples of five by me. For the purposes of character creation, please post the exact values for me to work with.

Step 3: Pick your weapon type. Each weapon type grants a certain set of boosts to your bases, as listed below.

Axe: +3 HP, +2 Strength

Lance: +1 Defense, +1 Resistance

Sword: +1 Skill, +1 Speed

Bow: +1 Strength, +2 Skill, +1 Speed

Tome: +1 Magic, +1 Skill, +1 Resistance

Dark Tome: +2 Magic, +1 Defense

Staff: +2 Luck, +2 Resistance

You get one weapon type for free, starting at D rank.

Additional weapon types, starting at E rank, can be gained in exchange for 4 Base Points and 25 Growth Points.

If your primary weapon is a tome, dark tome or staff, +3 magic is added to your bases.

If your primary weapon is an axe, lance, sword or bow, +3 strength is added to your bases.

If you pick a secondary weapon, the above +3 bonus is not given for it.

Step 4: You are done. Do a little victory jig.

Skills:

As you might have seen, every unit has a certain amount of SP. These are the unit’s Skill Points. Throughout your journey, skill scrolls will be found, each of which teach a different skill and take up a certain amount of SP to equip, similar to the Tellius games. These skills can be equipped, de-equiped, and traded around freely, though they will be limited in supply, and only certain types of units can equip certain skills.

Promotion:

Upon using a Master Seal item, a character who is at least level ten will promote. This will change their class, as it typically does, and improve their combat abilities.

Upon promotion, a unit automatically gains +1 HP, +5 SP and +1 movement.

In addition, they gain 15 ‘Base Points’ to spend on boosting their non-luck stats as they please. However, they may be spent on more things than were available at character creation.

2 Points may be spent to increase a unit’s weapon rank in any weapon by 1.

3 Points may be spent to gain an entirely new weapon type at D rank, though the statistical bonuses of that weapon will not be gained.

Wyvern Riders, Pegasus Riders and Thieves may select Staves upon promotion, and Wyvern Riders and Pegasus Riders may select Dark Tomes upon promotion. Otherwise, the same weapon limits apply.

How to Sign Up

Simply adhere to the character creation rules, and follow the following format!

Name: The name of your character.

Affinity: Your character’s affinity. Affinity determines the bonuses given by their supports.

Class: The name of your character’s class. Note that this is not class type, it is completely up to you.

Biography: An overview of your character’s origin and history. Put at least a few healthy sentences.

Appearance: An overview of what your character looks like. Put at least a few healthy sentences.

Personality: An overview of how your character acts and what their mannerisms are. Put at least a few healthy sentences.

Class Type: List your character’s class type.

Statistics: List your characters stats in the same format as is used in the class types. Instead of Growth Points, Base Points, Weapon Types and Effects, instead list their weapon ranks. SP and Movement do not need to be listed.

I will work with you to decide starting inventory.

Name: Helena Randa

Affinity: Wind

Class: Pegasus Knight.

Biography: Daughter to a fairly well known Torinian rancher, Helena grew up alongside horses and pegasus in Fira. Given Fira's expansive and fairly flat and isolated area, it made it a great area for raising horses, and the strong winds proved to make good training for raising strong pegasus. Her father has a taste for both business and tradition, and as such, Helena has been brought up like a proper lady, despite also serving as a farm hand for the stables. She has learned basic magic and weapon handling as a part of her self defense and traditional upbringing. As a young woman, she's grown to be quite rebellious of her father and his machinations, as he has attempted to set up a traditional and arranged marriage with the son of a wealthy noble from Hellenes. She and the boy, Kasus, do not get along and the feeling of betrayal leading up to day of the supposed wedding grew and grew. Taking one of the stable's best pegasus, Garen, she feels from Fira, eventually landing in Perissa. With her father and husband-to-be on her tail, she quickly throws what little coin she has in with the merchant brothers in order to escape her family and hide amongst the adventurers.

Appearance: A petite woman with average bust. She has red hair that curls at the back, which she has put into a ponytail, giving her one long, thick strand of red hair curling like a drill down the side of her head to about her shoulder. Having discarded the ceremonial bride's dress and the expensive idols that adorned it, she instead wears basic clothes purchased in Perissa and dons extra Pegasus Knight armor provided by the two brothers in exchange for her help.

Personality: Helena can be moody, but also caring. She gets worked up fairly easily, but this often leads her to push herself hard as necessary. She doesn't really like to talk much about her past, at least not until forced to, and always seems worried about something off in the distance. She cares deeply for Garen, and finds taking care of him and the other animals of caravaan soothing after a long day of battle and emotional stress. Given the recent events with her father and Kasus, her arranged Husband, she constantly looks at men as if piercing through them, looking for qualities that make her attracted to them. This causes her to be cold and outright rude to many of the male members of the party at first, or at least until she warms up to them or her past gets resolved.

Class Type: Pegasus Knight

Statistics:

HP: 15 (50%)

Strength: 7 (40%)

Magic: 3 (30%)

Skill: 6 (60%)

Speed: 6 (50%)

Luck: 0 (0%)

Defense: 2 (10%)

Resistance: 4 (30%)

Lance Rank D

Tome Rank E

This is including all stat alterations from primary weapons and such.

@Thany: did you apply your stat points? It doesn't look like you did there.

hopefully this is satisfactory for you. (hope i didn't mess anything up.)

Well, this is for the education of the novices, so welcome aboard!

Now, as far as your character goes, the first thing I want to point out is that you used none of the bonuses to the bases of the class. Remember, since you picked a foot unit, you have 15 points to add to your bases, and 180 points to add to your growths. In addition, since you picked lances as your primary weapon, you gain +1 to your defense base and +1 to your resistance base.

Reserving a Slot for my own grand idiocy till I can figure out how these gosh darn stat growths worth :3

The growth is the percent chance of a stat to increase upon level up, just like in the games.

so i have to add what stats get the points and add the growths to the percentages? ill try to do that right now then.

edit: and fixed. hopefully these growths dont mess me up to bad in the future. XP

Hey, just stopping by to give a bit of advice. Thany, the character you're signing up seems pretty much identical to the one you're playing in RotE. While doing the same character over and over can seem like a safe option, if you want to grow as an RPer, you're better off challenging yourself and trying a character that's out of your comfort zone a bit. If you just keep playing the same character over and over, you're never going to learn, you'll just stay stuck in the same spot you started in. Just a thought.

that is a good thought,i just thought id try using her again since i havent really gotten a chance to try her in a battle on ROTE, and i feel i wont be able to use her in battle till a much longer time, tho i will try a new character the next time i enter a new roleplay. thanks for the advice.

You'd still be better off trying a new character now. Even though you haven't fought much in RotE, you're still RPing with her and doing the same character in two different games, and especially since they seem to be literal carbon copies of each other, you're not learning anything new about rping

Link to comment

Well, look at it this way. This game is all about giving new RPers a chance to learn and grow. The only way you'll do that is if you push yourself. Doing the same exact character you're already doing isn't pushing yourself. So why not try something new if that's the whole point of this game?

Helena has been created! I was torn about the backstory, but felt this backstory complements her as a character and may even be useful as far as character development goes!

Lovely!

...apparently everyone hates luck, in a game where crit rates are, on average, doubled.

I have a question. Are we only allowed to make one character at max, or as many as we feel comfortable with?

Uh...in concept everyone had one, but...why, might I ask? Did you have an idea for a group or something? I suppose it's fine, if it's not like...four people.

hmm.... anonymousSpeed, can i rewrite my character sheet? scorri made a decent point to me.

Sure, go ahead. No sense in locking you to your first draft.

I was just planning on going with two, but I can just go with one if you'd prefer it that way.

More friendly advice! I'd suggest staying with one, to help focus and learn with just one character. Once people are comfortable, then maybe allow more

I think I might just stick with one, or make the second later, if making characters later on is alright with you AnonymousSpeed.

Name: Leon Alvarise

Affinity: Wind

Class: Sword Knight

Biography: Leon was born in a land far from the islands, the son of a former Knight who had worked under a noble for a time. As such, he received training from his father, however, it was generally harsh for Leon, but he pulled through, and at the age of 20, he left his hometown and traveled the lands beyond his home. He would often fight in arenas for money, however, one fight in one went wrong, and an injury caused his left eye to become blind, leaving him with his right to see with. This would not stop Leon, however, as he would work around this injury. His travels would take him to the islands, as he decided to stay there for a while.

Appearance: Leon stands at 5 foot 9, with the average build for a man around his age(22). He has short, green hair. His eyes are a dark shade of blue, though he wears an eyepatch over his left eye. He wears a green variant on the armor that many Knights that ride mounts prefer.

Personality: Leon is almost always cool-headed, and rarely know to panic. He is also a quick thinker, that prefers to plan out instead of recklessly going in. He also has a somewhat stern demeanor to himself, although he is a nice guy, if you get to know him. He doesn't like nonsense that much, but doesn't hate it, as a good childhood friend of his behaves just like that.

Class Type: Mounted Unit

Statistics:

HP: 20(2 base points) (60%)

Strength: 6(1 base points) (45%)

Magic: 2 (10%)

Skill: 7(4 base points) (50%)

Speed: 6 (3 base points (60%)

Luck:4(2 base points) (45%)

Defense: 3 (30%)

Resistance: 0 (10%)

Swords rank D

I believe I have the base stats and growth rates correct as the way it's wanted, but tell me if I made any mistakes with the statistics.

Just so its clear, I wasn't necessarily making Kasus a "villain" in terms of Helena's backstory, but her father and the merchant from Hellas could perhaps be X-chapter characters. Maybe even have Kasus be a secondary char that joins later on. I dunno, I'm making it open to Anon here to decide and such.

Alright, questions, time for le answers.

My skype:ZeroTheMageKnight

Danke, just to clarify for others though, you don't need to give your skype in the thread.

I'll see what happens.

ALSO, do mounter/flying units have Cantor?

Not at this moment, no. If mounts seem to be struggling I might change that, but for now, no.

Moving onto numbers...

Class Type: Pegasus rider.

Statistics:

HP: 16 (60%)

Strength: 7 (50%)

Magic: 1 (10%)

Skill: 5 (50%)

Speed: 6 (55%)

Luck: 0 (5%)

Defense: 6 (50%)

Resistance: 5 (50%)

Bow rank D

As is, the Pegasus Rider class type cannot use bows.

Your bases are most calculated correctly aside from that though, minus having 16 HP instead of 15. However, your growths are higher than they should be.

Class Type: Pegasus Knight

Statistics:

HP: 15 (50%)

Strength: 7 (40%)

Magic: 3 (30%)

Skill: 6 (60%)

Speed: 6 (50%)

Luck: 0 (0%)

Defense: 2 (10%)

Resistance: 4 (30%)

Lance Rank D

Tome Rank E

Unfortunately, Pegasus Knight is not a class type.

Your stats check out otherwise, though...you do have literally zero luck. As such, I advise you watch out for enemies with a skill stat greater than 0.

Class Type: Mounted Unit
Statistics:
HP: 20(2 base points) (60%)
Strength: 6(1 base points) (45%)
Magic: 2 (10%)
Skill: 7(4 base points) (50%)
Speed: 6 (3 base points (60%)
Luck:4(2 base points) (45%)
Defense: 3 (30%)
Resistance: 0 (10%)
Swords rank D

Holy crap, a luck stat!

Showing points was not necessary, but you know what? I appreciate it. Your bases are correct and your growths are as well, though you do have very little resistance. As such, I recommend you watch out for mages.
