Who else does enjoy being bad at a videogame more than being good at?

Recommended Posts

there's nothing funnier than fast falling to your doom all four stocks in Super Smash Bros. Melee after not touching it for a decade

that being said it gets old pretty quickly for me, and being skilled has rewards of its own

Overall, I prefer being good or at least competent

Pretty much the only reason I play Mario games, I'm just so bad. Put it this way if there is a pit I will fall in said pit 4-6 times. At the time I'm raging but later I laugh about the past.

The best is with friends that are good at it. Lots of laughter going around.

In any games, when I make a mistaske or something bad happened to me, I try to always laugh instead of raging.

Ok, to specify, how bad I really was / still am:

My mom owned me in Mario Kart 64 and Diddy Kong Racing (even beat this one) and my dad had to complete the Zelda games for the N64.

I only was good at the 2D platformers (Mario, Kirby, DK...). Though I suck at 3D platformers as well.

Currently I only can play round based strategy games like Fire Emblem and Advance Wars, puzzle games and economic simulations like Sim City.

I'm trying to get into (S)RPGs as well.

Whenever I stream sth. for other people, external shame guaranteed.

I generally find my own failure always funny.. Especially if it's Dark Souls or SSBB.

I don't find failing at a Zelda game or RPG very funny though, not dynamic, thus, less implication on your part.

I usually want to at most be competent in the games I play. That being said, trying to become the greatest player ever in a single game imo is too much effort for little reward. Sure there are gaming tournaments nowadays with money on the line but usually the risk is too much and there are more losses than wins in the end.

I enjoyed being bad.... its inherently more enjoyable than being good simply because of knowing how much better you could get later on.

Doing something you thought WAS impossible before is the most satisfying moments in playing video games

I suck a lot at 2D platformers not named Megaman, but I enjoy them anyways. Actually, I suck at 3D platformers too. I don't really like losing in other games though, but I don't like winning effortlessly either. Die a couple times at a hard part, that's fine, die a whole bunch at every part, not for me, unless it's a platformer.

I enjoy being bad at games I don't mind being bad at. A bunch of brits playing Madden NFL is pretty amusing.

Strangely sports games inlcuding NFL were games I didn't suck so hard.

I don't find failing at a Zelda game or RPG very funny though.

It's not funny, but rather embarassing for me, if I can't solve the easiest puzzles.

Actually I'm good at puzzles, but not in videogames for some strange reason.

Sadly I never ever will try out a MegaMan game in my life, because this game has so many difficult passages, which requires excellent reaction time from you.

And my reaction time isn't the best anymore because of my advanced age. The reason, why I can't play platformers well anymore.
