I know this class of characters isn't the most popular, at least for the GBA games, and I know this is a short list. But, here it is! I'd have to say Bartre is probably my favorite of this bunch, he actually always ends up pretty beastly for me. And he's an entertaining character, at least in my opinion. I like his conversations! I like Geitz a lot too, I like him as a character but I don't like him as a unit as much as Bartre. And before anyone says I forgot Ross...I did not forget Ross. Don't worry about it. He'd go on another (very short) list.

 

NOTE:

 

1: A character's starting class determines which list they go on. For prepromotes, what would have been their starting class in their game determines which list they go on. For example, Renault is a Bishop, but his starting class would have been a Monk if he wasn't a prepromote, so he goes on the Monk/Bishop list. Yodel, on the other hand, goes on the Priest/Cleric/Bishop list, he is a Bishop but in Binding Blade Monk was not a class so his starting class would have been a Priest.

 

2: If a character is not playable in the main story, they are not included.

Geitz, of course. He actually has two things everyone else lacks - a good speed base, and a respectable speed growth. Of course, the fact that I like him most isn't saying much when, for one, everyone else is a bunch of scrubs, and second, fighters are still my least favorite class in the franchise (or at least, damn near close to it)...

My vote would be Bartre, but Geitz didn't require babying but was kind of useful. The EXP used on Bartre, I could give to someone else, and Geitz would be ready for me to use.

Well, that's because I was originally going to write about Bartre because he's the only one I've ever significantly used past the point I can just toss him out.

But then I realized that even he's pretty bad. Seriously, his starting stats are pretty awful. His speed especially, if I remember correctly.

I've attempted using the FE6 guys but both of them are pretty bad. Their supports are... almost interesting?

Geitz actually has some decent supports, seems to be a decent unit, and has a cool name. But I haven't really ever used him much past his joining chapter, despite usually getting his map.

Geitz with his awesome character, being a good unit, a design I can only call great and good supports. The fact that he's one of those characters I would get along with in real life also helps.

Indeed! My numbers are fine, nonbeliever! Like I said, FE7/Bartre always ends up as a beastly unit, even when I'm doing Eliwood Mode and can't recruit Karla. I don't even mean to use him that often, not in EM anyway, and yet he somehow always just becomes this monstrous beast of destruction. Geitz is good and useful and good over Bartre should you decide not to use Bartre but still want a Warrior. I say Dorcas is decent, even though he's good some playthroughs but bad others. And Garcia is like Bartre, I have never tried to purposefully use him and level him up, but for some reason he becomes such a beast. YOU MUST BELIEVE!

Dorcas, Garcia, and Bartre are the reason why I have a low opinion of fighters in the first place. Their speed growths (or in Bartre's case, speed base) make me wanna puke. And you're trying to sell Bartre as a good unit based on your own personal experience... Double lol.
