Clarinets
Hello, and welcome to Supershyguy94s playthrough of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War!!!!! We know what were here for.LUTE GET OUTI will not be doing just any run, though. I am going to be doing a Nuzlocke, or no resets run. I am mainly doing this for self-torture enjoyment. : ] Here are the rules: If someone dies, I dont reset and cover up their death with lies. If Sigurd/Seliph dies, I reset and send others who had died in the failed attempt to their doom. NO abuse of the second rule. EVER. I can use one use of the Valkyrie Staff, but only to revive a future mother in Generation 1. Those are the rules! I think they seem fair enough I hope[spoiler=Jungby Castle]Wow, the run is starting!Obligatory history class. The only important part is the Lopt. Sect killing people and the 12 crusaders stopping them. These two are the rulers of Freege and Dozel. They dont like theyre good guys, thoughOh hey, its Alvis the most OP Mage in the game! (that mains fire, anyway)A crisis? Well, its to be expected in Fire Emblem games. Also, this guy can see the future. The previously peaceful country attacking? WHO WOULDVE THOUGHT. In all seriousness, though, any country with ugly rulers is probably evil.Id use them as a wall.See? Even Midir wants to be a wall!Whoa. Theyre violent. Alec, by the way, youre wrong. They burn the place first. Its a gameplay element.Oh hey! Its Oifaye! (that sounded more clever in my head.) Oifaye is the best! Hes our tactician! Without him, this playthrough wouldnt happen! Basically, we play as Oifaye! We start! Also, Turn one formation and the like. ; ] Wow, Ardan is slow. He has vantage, or charge, or whatever they call it these days, but not pursuit. BenchedNow we look at someone quite the opposite of Ardan. Sigurd, the somewhat OP main lord of this generation, has pursuit. That means he can double. No pursuit :/ He has critical, though, which might earn him a loverYes criticals are a skill in this game (with two exceptions)Alec is better than Noish in practically every way. He has Pursuit and Nihil, which negates critical and, I believe, the special sword effects of death. Hes not staying on the team for long though.Midir got criticaled? No fair, Gandolf didnt have the ability.Thank you. this cutscene would take forever without this. Also, Aideens ONE guard didnt do so well so shes not exactly NOT being kidnapped right now.Man, the enemy phase theme is so catchy We meet our two new characters, both of which will get a lover (because theyre both good). Lex, the guy on the right, is really good and hopefully wont die. Azel Well, hes pretty good.Aw, Azel likes Aideen. He is not marrying her. Definitely not.Oh, and he can ORKO these bandits too. Thanks, clever level design.Azel mains fire magic, the worst in the game. He has pursuit, though.Lex doesnt have pursuit, but I can solve that problem he does have vantage and Paragon, though. That, with my plan, will make him top tier.Lex visits the village Azel saved, and a turn later these guys show up. Theyre Cuan and Ethlin, and they rock. Also, theyre married. Yay lovers critical!Poor Fin. Only gets one forced line of dialogue (and is still really good)Ethlin has critical, but no pursuit. At least she uses staves thoughFin, meanwhile, has pursuit and an extra prayer skill! Thatll be helpful in a pinch.Cuan has continue, which is like pursuit but doesnt always trigger and attacks more.Ooh, close. Noish was severely injured by these fighters and Ethlin couldnt heal him this turn, so I built a wall. The healer animations are cool. But why doesnt she have a stave?Getting Fin experience![spoiler=O.O]Or not I forgot about that village, so Noish and Alec go around the long way and build up their love points. Azels mission is to save these two villages in six turns. Good luck, Azel.Azel isnt the fastest, so Lex heads over for some help.We dont need it here, after all. Also, I had Noish visit the speed ring village -.-One village down. Only one more left.Fin versus the boss! Who will win?Whoa. Fin, get out of there. I decide Fin isnt worthy of defeating the boss. Lex can instead.Meanwhile, Alec and Noish block the chokepoint and rack up them love points. Azel isnt far behind. Also, Lex saved that village in the nick of time.Lex dodged : ] And hit him One round of combat later, Lex gets the kill!Jungby Castle is seized! Then we recruit Midir. Gandolf, if you wouldve have cheated to get a critical, this wouldnt have happened.Yikes. That pursuit is nice, but those stats Well, thats all for now. I hope you enjoyed so far (I promise, this will get exciting) I would like any feedback you have, because I have no idea if Im Lets Playing well or not. Thanks! Alex95
Usually in a Nuzlocke, if you get a Game Over, that's it! Meaning if Sigurd or Seliph dies, your run ends. But I guess it's up to you if you wanna tweak some rules to see this through. :)
Clarinets
Usually in a Nuzlocke, if you get a Game Over, that's it! Meaning if Sigurd or Seliph dies, your run ends. But I guess it's up to you if you wanna tweak some rules to see this through. :) I would let myself lose if Sigurd/ Seliph dies, but Seliph can die pretty easily before being trained and the RNG is sort of troll in this game. Granted, I also tend to overestimate lords, getting them killed... I just realized how often I spam ellipses. Whoa. Not to mention, I haven't actually played through this game past Chapter 3 yet. So it's sort of a blind run. (I'm doomed, basically) Edited September 5, 2015 by Supershyguy94
Clarinets
And we’re back! That didn’t take too long. [spoiler=Evans Castle has scary guards] Title is a summary of this segment. Good luck, self. Alvis, you’re talking about one of the best lords in the series. do not insult him. Ethlin heals Sigurd and walks away. I say Sigurd earned it. Here’s the formation. Ha, you’re doomed. Lute, pls. I think I know that. Naturally, the formation runs and we’re left with this. ;-; This will not be pleasant. At least Azel’s safe, though… Midir chips and Ethlin heals Alec. And yes, I’m using Midir. :D Run away like a coward, Azel. And Midir misses. Got the enemy down to one health in a single round, though, so his/her’s (just kidding, Midir’s a girly looking guy) pursuit might not be pursuit. I will not be checking, though, because I didn’t notice. XD it’s a dodge-fest! And what Cuan’s doing. Sigurd, get there NOW Feel the wrath of Sigurd (inb4 he doesn’t have enough strength to kill) Meanwhile, Fin runs and I almost feed a kill to Ardan. Don’t worry, though, the kill went to Cuan. Then I heal him. Seeing how he failed to dodge last round, he’ll probably need it. Azel wants to chat with his big brother. (Cute, but I’m definitely not using that pairing.) The dodge-fest continues! This time, with a lot more Ethlin! (use her in your walls, people) Ya, Cuan didn’t dodge either of those. On the bright side, Ethlin healing him saved his life (so I get to keep Ethlin :D) Midir has evolved from chip-damager to kill-stealer. And I’m so proud of the guy. Ardan is in the wall. I thought you benched him. I did, but I need him now. I’m really grasping for wall members. OH NOES HE’S IN KILL STEALING RANGE (and isn’t Midir) Yes, Sigurd leaves the wall to talk to him. Yes, someone will probably die. But I can’t have a loss of 30 exp. It’s insane. Also, Silver Sword : ] Meet the new member of my wall. (I wouldn’t have my hopes up for his survival) Ya… He’s probably gonna die. [spoiler=Will he die?] Yep, everything goes for the one dodge tank we have. And you thought I made a bad choice, having Sigurd leave the wall. XD We surround the only remaining member of the Evans army because Ethlin hungers for tasty axe-fighter flesh. To the left we have the ‘Please heal me!’ club. to the right, we have Ethlin’s Servants. Ethlin finishes her lunch. Ethlin heals EVERYONE. (Well, except for Ardan.) I agree. Sigurd could’ve soloed this map if I got some friendly RNG. This talk conversation was worth clicking just for this line. I give 10/10 to the translation crew. But the most important part of that heal-fest was… [spoiler=The Beautiful Level] I am loving this, Ethlin. I’m having Azel solo the boss. (What could go wrong ) Yes, Azel just dodged and hit twice. :D Azel you are a god XD Also, what kind of last words is that? At least put an ellipse in front of it… Anyway, we seize the castle and somehow don’t die! Last words ignored/10 Hey, two unimportant people are coming. One of them looks like Eltshan. (We’ll get to him later.) Whoa. I’m astonished at how all of my dialogue (so to speak) was so much better than last post. That’s it for now, guys. I hope you enjoyed. Clarinets
I’m back! And with a new segment, too. [spoiler=Aira Craves My Blood] If he’s so peaceful, how come he’s trying to kill me? See? He wants death for Grandbell! Game, please explain! Guys, it’s Eltshan! Let’s all applaud. The first of three brothers reveals himself. He’s actually going to die right now! Oh, also, AIRA AND SHANAN ARE INTRODUCED OMG 10/10 TAKE MY MONEY The castle is introduced! I wonder what we have here… A repair shop for our weapons, A trade system that costs cash, >:( An arena, A way to monitor your lovers, I don’t actually know what the storage does, And, most importantly, an item shop! (Actually, arena is probably more important) Here’s how well the team did in clearing the seven arena battles. Their scores are in the second row of numbers. Turn one formation. About time. Lute, please don’t be so rude. Your starting magic is terrible in this game. I use anima magic. Thunder isn’t bad in this game, is it? You guys don’t even HAVE wind, and fire and thunder are the two worst types of magic in this game. Touche. The second brother appears! And he’s helping Aideen escape! Why not? I want to make a Star Wars reference/10. Oh, hey, a thief! I plan on using him occasionally. GEE, I WONDER IF HE’S RECRUITABLE *shot* I have Dew, our thief, visit the village. It pretty much always results in profit, after all. Cuan and Fin chat, and Fin gets a new lance! No, he just gets a few stats. : [ Azel doesn’t double this archer. Noish gets the kill, then. (I will main him) Their’s a new dodgefest in town, and Noish wants in on the action! Wait, Ethlin? [spoiler=Ethlin?!?] Keep dodging, PLEASE (don’t use her in your walls, guys, DON’T USE HER IN YOUR WALLS I didn’t capture the picture at the right time, but she dodged :D Next turn, and we have another dodgefest. Midir is the main event. [spoiler=Someone didn't dodge.] Ya… I was pushing my luck during Evans Castle anyway. Plus, Aideen has a backup lover. Wait, what Dew, you basically quoted my mind right now. A SIX PERCENT? REALLY? We clear out those Midir-killers and Cuan visits the village. Also, Aideen is reunited with the group! Yay! The strategy. Also, Aira, stay over with Sigurd’s taking of Genoa please. PLEASE! This plan is working easily. Also, AIRA PLEASE STOP (She’s really good, guys. She wants my blood!) I almost give Alec exp. Oops! We clear the vast majority of their troops. Aira, please leave. Meanwhile, Sigurd is ready to take Genoa Castle (and save us from Aira) Our first zero percent hit chance, not counting Dew! (shudders in memory of Dew’s death) Sigurd takes the castle! (I thought for sure I screenshotted this better.) We save Shanan and Aira won’t kill me now! Aw… he calls Aira auntie. That’s so kawaii~ You said it, Oifaye. Also, your tactics got Midir killed! >:( Oh, hey, I’m done! Guess we’re at a ‘Will Aira kill me?’ cliffhanger! I would’ve continued on Sunday, but I got a new Rubik’s Cube and was addicted all day. XD Edited September 7, 2015 by Supershyguy94
Ansem
damn midir you would have been so good. also @alec/noish discussion, i prefer the latter. sure alec has pursuit but often times noish is doing more damage in one hit than alec is doing in two hits. critical is pretty great as well. Clarinets
Actually, I decided that would I train Noish for the lolz, so this run I get to do something new. You're also probably right, haven't really used either of them that much before so I'm basing it off my limited experience with them.Midir would've been pretty good with luck (dem Gen 1 growths) and I would've paired him with Aideen. I guess Jamka will have to marry her... inb4 she diesThank you guys for commenting, by the way.Edit: Accidentally messed up the rules trying to fix the font (I blame my I Pad) I hope nobody cares about that. Edit 2: Not going to bother with the font, but the rules look better now :D Edited September 12, 2015 by Supershyguy94
Alex95
No, Midir! Never played the game, so I don't know who that is. But still... Not Midir!
Clarinets
Too... lazy... refuses too... continue... In all seriousness, I think I'll just update it right now. :) [spoiler=The Easy Castle] The goal: reach this village in six turns. Also, we can just walk around Aira now. :D Five turns left O.O Wait… why… OH NOEZ NOISH [spoiler=Noish might die] This is the reason Aira is so intimidating. Luckily, this doesn’t activate. :D Meanwhile, some horrifying threats start heading straight towards the castle! Oh no! Four turns. I don't know if I'll make it Cuan, risk your life to save the village. Ardan, luckily, was busy camping at the castle, ready to block the intruders. (Could’ve saved Midir, maybe…) Of course I didn’t leave Ardan there alone! Eltshan to the exp. stealing rescue! They’re very powerful, too. Aw, one died… Well, good job, Cross Knights! Aira get! Elliot, the cruel guy who wanted to kill me, is retreating ‘with his men’. Meanwhile, Cuan REALLY wants to save that village. (so much he’s suicidal) Oh, so NOW you dodge. I won’t make it Darn it, Azel still can’t double those archers. Noish is just ONE strength away… After clearing those guys out (for Azel) I realize Azel is in the range of two fighters and close to death, so I fix it! (With Alec :/) Sigurd stands in front of Gandolf. Good night, you fool. I cri everytiem I may have tried to have Azel double him… again… (It’s been so long I don’t remember) Lex goes to avenge the poor souls in that village. After all, revenge is a dish best served with a side of axes! (Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise unless it’s FE6) Fin still can’t kill bosses. My new strategy, give Aira the kill. :D Granted, she didn’t really need that… Wait, how do we get to the next castle? O.O YES HE’S DEAD Also, since I forgot to show it last time, Aideen has no skills. She’s basically a staffbot or something. Ethlin and Aideen chat-- oooh, Return Staff! Healing! Yay! Hmmm, Aira and Cuan have a talk conversation. Why not? Whoa. Now this is interesting. By the way, I got some feels from that. gg. (Would ship if Ethlin and him were married) Anyway, we seize. Oh hey, DiMaggio is back! (jk it’s a recolor) Also, Sigurd meets Deirdre. Ah, they were kidnapped together. Anyway, she leaves and rudely doesn’t tell Sigurd her name. It’s Deirdre, as I said before. GEE, I WONDER IF THEY’LL BECOME LOVERS AND BE USED AS AN EFFECTIVE TUTORIAL FOR LOVERDOM Ha. In your face, old guy! Sigurd marries who he wants! Ugh, please listen Wait, huh? How come this was never monologued to us? Gasp, a secret REAL villain behind this! And he lied to the king about Grandbell? How rude. Whoa, the king is dead. Well, that’s… a thing. Why do I care again? Manfloy, the main bad guy behind most of the battles in this game, is here! He wants to kill me, too. He won’t though. His battle against me is MUCH later. (Maybe even never) Yep, because Sigurd is awesome. Ohhhhhh. You started a war to kidnap Deirdre and have her have children with her brother because it creates Major Lopt Blood? That’s just… a plan… I guess… Who’s her brother? Also, the forest is now somehow open. I guess Deirdre used the magical power of NO ROADBLOCKS FOOL to open it? Well, that’s all for now. :) Edited September 12, 2015 by Supershyguy94
