Hi everyone ! I'm starting a LP!

You have no idea, who I am? Well, why do you care? I'm not important here. The game is, so let's talk about it.

So Aëdemphia is a (unfinished) RPG maker (2003) game you can download here.

So... if you have taken a look at the previous image, you might have noticed the game is not in english.

Indeed, it's french and don't have a translation because of the sheer size of it and the... not so warm reception of the english speaking RPG maker community.

But don't worry, I'll be there to translate the most important of it. Woohoo!

So... it's a RPG. What else?

Aëdemphia distinguish itself by blending the two main groups of RPGs, japanese and western.

Like a JRPG it has a developped story, a turn by turn battle system and people with gravity defying hair.

And like a WRPG, it has an extensive world with lots of optional quests and loads of choices to make (and they do have consequences.)

The actual demo contains around two thirds of the game and propose more than 30 hours of gameplay (for the average player)

And more importantly, it's very good, yep I said it. And if you don't believe me... Read a bit more.

So let's start, I guess.

Part 1 : Introduction and dialogue

All right, let's start the game !

The launcher of the game. Make sure to install the font before playing for the first time ("Installer les polices").

Now, just click on "Jouer" (play).

The title screen! It is... different than the one I posted before... Yep, it's animated and change between several landscapes.

Let's detail the options!

"Démarrer" is to start a new game. We'll be doing that soon.

"Charger" is to load a saved game. Yes, this game has a save feature, hooray!

"Résumé" is to learn about what happened before the start of the game. We won't really need the game will give us a short summary soon.

"Didacticiel" teaches you the bases of RPGs

"Crédits" shows the... credits.

"Bonus" contains some bonus images : images from the first version of the game and some artworks.

"Quitter" lets you leave the game.

Let's start the game then!

Warning! There are some violent and immoral scenes in this game

It is really true.

Now, the game asks us to configure some thingies.

Your walking speed : Normal or Slow.

I'll stay with normal.

You can deactivate the battle musics. In that case, the music of the place you are currently in will continue.

(Also note, that some places will keep their music in battle, notably the start of the game, so don't panic if your choice doesn't seem to be taken into account)

I'll keep battle musics on.

Some animations may slow down the game if your computer is old. Mine is but the animations still work fine so... yeah.

Difficulty level!

From very easy to very hard. i'll stay to normal difficulty myself. (Difficulty doesn't change experience and rewards and can be changed at any time. In fact, all those options can)

Which button do what. I'll explain everything if someone to play the game alongside.^^

Enter/Space bar : validation

Escape/0/X : cancelation

+ : Next character in the menu / Maps

- : Previous character in the menu / Reputation

* : Help / Statistics in the status menu

/ : Pause

. : Talk to your vokoni (if you have one)

Shift : Discretion mode (hold)

5 : Free camera (hold, be careful it uses MP!)

9 : Free magic menu

7 : Quest log

Erfanan is a small town of Osfade, the northern continent. We essentially live from hunting. There are vast natural frozen areas around. At the northwest, there is Ankatas, Osfade's capital. We are quite secluded from the rest of the world. You will quickly see everything there is here. The most important place here is the temple. I hope you are recalling all that. My name is Aïnam, I will let you rest. Meet me again at the temple later.

Hey, I actually tried it a while ago when I deiscovered RPG Maker.
But I didn't get really that far.

All right, I'm gonna end up what i first considered to do for the first update (but time taken and image limit disagreed with me)

Let's go to that temple and see what we will have to do.

We left just outside Aïnam's house last time.

Let's take those stairs and...

This guy starts a conversation.

We can either thank him or gently ask him to leave.

He then propose ta answer our questions about the city. Let's just summarize this time :

- The town is kinda boring. There is a book shop at the north and an hunter is ill and needs someone to fill in or heal him.

- The temple is at the east (as we knew)

- Aïnam is a sympathetic old priest. We were lucky he found us instead of the mountain's beasts.

So it's really the case... I was transported in another world, once again.

Irzyka muses one last time about her predicament.

Children don't understand the importance of believing in Aëdemphia and salvation.To think we were like them before.

Title drop! You weren't expecting it this soon, were you? And especially not by a random NPC.

So is Aëdemphia a religion or a god? Let's ask the little girl.

My parents want me to go to Aëdemphia after my death. But I don't want to waste my life for that!

Summary time :

When one dies, if he is in peace with himself, believe in Aëdemphia and is a good person he will go to Aëdemphia that is a wonderful place where our wishes take form.

The others become wandering souls and stay in this world eternally.

Where does this religion come from?

A woman named Inalisse teached it several hundreds of Kahls ago. (a kahl is propably ~ a year)

It was popularized by the first Great Oracle and adopted by all people.

Are there any other religion?

There are some minoritary believes that venerate the wandering souls or the degenerates.
