  1. 1. Should I do Chapter 14 or head to Nah's paralogue to get second seals?

    • Do chapter 14 and wait until chapter 16 to get second seals
      6
    • Go and get Nah and second seals
      11
    • Keep relying on luck to get second seals from Anna until chapter 16

Chapter 6:

So before I started Chapter 6 I did something that I forgot to do in chapter 5. That's right, it's time for the S-Supports :XD: considering that I have finally gotten to them, it's going to be a lot of fun especially since this is some of my favourite conversations that I have had unlocked before chapter 5. Of course there are probably people that will say that my pairs don't work, but in the end I guess that is to be expected from those that are playing more competively than I do. That said this is a re-run of an accidently deleted run that was never meant for apo, so there is that to consider. Pairings are being chosen based on their supports (except Chrom and Chloey as we all know because I will repeat that C-A is just terrible and should have been like M!Robin's, then it would have made more sense :/) as well as intial pairings that I have had. This is because I have found what works for me and I kind of like it that way. Of course there will be a run that would feature a what could have been but we'll leave that for another day. (I have gotten a couple of DLC packs that I will be playing later for obvious reasons *cough limitbreaker cough* *cough bride cough* *cough dread fighter cough*. Now for a more formal introduction of the Tactician we met back in chapter 5 because reasons :XD:

amelia_by_thesilentchloey-d9siakj.png

Name: Amelia

Stat Asset: Magic

Stat Flaw: Strength

Build: Female 2

Face: 1

Hair: 4

Hair Colour: 17

Birthday: 5th of May

So now that we have her introduced we can go on with the story for Chapter 6.

[spoiler=Chapter 6 Foreseer Story Notes]

chpt_6_01_by_thesilentchloey-d9ssseb.jpg

So we open to what must be late at night because Chrom is out in the darkness and by the looks of his face he is clearly duelling with unplesant thoughts. Poor guy, I know that isn't fun at all. Still it makes sense that Chrom would be the one lost in thought. After all Gangrel did start a war with Ylisse for what was obvious reasons to him. Of course for some reason it seems that Chloey is also up. How is not the issue. I can never work out why the avatar is up as late as it is, but then again I never really tried to think of a reason why he/she would be. All I know is that Robin (or in our case Chloey) turns up when the game calls for it. Then we get some exposition about Plegia and Ylisse being at war with one another. Of course Chrom paints his father's actions as potentially wrong, which in most lights it is, however there is one thing that a ot of people have agreed on (and I don't mean in game) is that there are a few theories out there to explain WHY Chrom's father made war on Plegia in the first place. All Chrom tells us is that his father died when Emmeryn was 10. And thinking about how Emmeryn treated others after the rough treatment and simply gave a peaceful response...I'll admit it seems a bit surprising, but with that sort of nature it makes sense. Too bad then that Gangrel wants her dead. Interesting that Chrom litterally takes the words out of my mouth with regards to Emm. Of course as Chrom and Chloey are talking about Emm we have a familiar face who appears. And what do you know, it's our good friend Marth. Who has somehow managed to get into the palace unseen by the guards and Frederick.

chpt_6_06_by_thesilentchloey-d9sssr8.jpg

Add to that Chloey doesn't seem too surprised, and neither does Chrom. Marth as we find out is one of the most polite characters that I have encountered so far...if evesdropping isn't considered rude. Of course it is at this time that Chrom asks the fair question of how Marth got into the palace grounds and Math reveals that "he" got in through the cleft in the castle walls behind the maple grove. Of course Chrom doesn't know HOW Marth used that spot because he thought that it was hidden to which Marth states thhat said secret is safe with him and that he came to warn Chrom. Of course Chrom is a little bit dense, but then given how vague Marth was/is being you really can't blame him. Although this is the point where Marth is actually being crystal clear. Emmeryn's life is genuinely in danger. Although Chrom is certain that she's safe because she's kept under guard all the time. To which Marth asks a question. A very valid question. Marth suggests that "he" had seen the future. Of course Chrom isn't so certain, and Marth expected it. So then Marth exposes the assassin trying to kill Chrom. And we find out

that Marth is actually a woman. Well she had me fooled the first time around I can tell you! However when you listen carefully and look a little closer you begin to notice that all is not as it first appears.

[spoiler=Tactical Notes]

So with all of that action, we now move onto the battle field. This is the chapter for fun and games. Doubtless I will need Lissa AND Maribelle in equal measure to help the team on this map. Since Chloey is not being magical, I'll have to have her and Chrom working on the left of the map. Trust me to forget about those that we need. The next map will feature Chrom snowballing the map because I want him to give Lucina the best stats possible (as well as giving him and Chloey second seal priority at the moment at least until I recuit Lucina and can get a chapter with infinate second seals with my only limit being gold). So now we move onto my preparations.

Units deployed:

~Chrom

~Chloey

~Amelia

~Lissa

~Lon'qu

~Miriel

~Maribelle

~Ricken

~Vaike

~Donnel

Turn 1:

We interrupt your regular program with a short bout of story. Validar demands that he wants the Fire Emblem and Emmeryn dead. Of course we soon find out that a thief in the group is none to happy about this development and for the most part only wants to line his pockets with gold, not kill anybody. Chrom and Emmeryn have a brief conversation where he tells his sister to stay where it's safe. Of course we know that if I pull this off without a hitch, Emmeryn will be completely unharmed. Which means that the ssassins must be taken down before they get to Emmeryn as Chloey so stellarly points out.

Validar grumbles that two assassins were not enough to even wound Chrom, not even knowing that Marth had warned us earlier, so we were well aware of what was going on. This is about the point that Validar realises that something is actually wrong, there are "actors" that do not belong on the stage. After which Chloey is highlighted and Validar states that fate is truly piling the gifts at his feet, after what he calls years of searching. Now I wonder why that would be? Oh well I guess that it isn't that important at all. What is important is the fact that Marth's falchion is glowing. Chrom asks her what is wrong and Marth says it's not for him to worry about. Chrom says that it seems that nothing is with Marth and Marth apologises.

Chrom suggests that Marth stays put near the door while the rest of the shepherds handle the assassins. Emmeryn insists that we flee while we still can as she doesn't want our lives against hers. However that is not the plan.

~Moved Lon'qu 3 squares down, 2 squares right. Killed the fighter

~Moved Amelia 1 square right and 4 squares down

~Moved Lissa 2 squares down and 2 squares right

~Moved Chloey 3 squares down

~Moved Vaike 3 squares down

~Moved Donny 4 squares down

~Pair up Ricken and Miriel with Ricken leading moved Ricken down

~Moved Maribelle 4 squares down 1 square right

Enemy Phase:

~Fighter went for Chloey and Chrom dual guarded and dual struck. He must really love his new waifu

~A thief went for Vaike thinking that he was weak, Vaike one shot him taking minor damage in the process

~Fighter goes for Vaike and while he took some damage, Vaike gains a level

~Fighter goes for Vaike and misses, Vaike kills fighter

~A thief goes for Lon'qu and Lon'qu one shots it (which he could have done without Amelia) Lon'qu gains a level

~A dark mage goes for Vaike and while Vaike gets hurt but kills the mage all the same

Turn 2:

We cut your regular tactical notations to bring you more story. A stranger arrives and Chrom wonders if this stranger is an enemy, to which Marth tells us Panne is not. So we have another helper on this map!! Of course Chrom and Frederick have to have their discussion about Panne, but they treat her fairly because Marth has proven that she means no harm and despite hiding her gender Chrom is willing to trust her. Of course we now return to the tactical notes

~Paired up Chloey with Chrom in the lead, moved Chrom to talk to Gaius and kill the dark mage. And this is the point where I bring up Gauis' recruitment conversation. Of course he wants gold, but the way he says "sugar" is just too much as well as the change of music. Ok we get it, Gaius loves his sugar. Also Chrom gives us his second critical hit, "Now I'm angry!"

chpt_6_11_by_thesilentchloey-d9sst10.jpg

~Healed Vaike with the easily placed Maribelle

~Moved Lon'qu 1 square to the right to take out a fighter and create a solid block

~Moved Lissa to heal Lon'qu

~Moved Ricken/Miriel 4 squares down (support grinding)

~Moved Gaius to safety 5 squares to the right

~Moved Panne towards Emmeryn 2 squares down and 1 square right

~Moved Amelia 1 square right

~Moved Donny 1 square down

Enemy Phase:

~Dark Mage went for Chrom and missed and Chrom dual struck and we got a wind tome.

~Dark Mage went for Lon'qu and misses

~Thief goes for Lon'qu does 3 damage and easily gets 1HKO

~Fighter goes for Lon'qu and misses and Lon'qu asks "How well will you die?!" and gets a critical hit (one of his many I might add)

chpt_6_14_by_thesilentchloey-d9ssu0i.jpg

~Cavalier goes for Vaike and does minor damage, Vaike kills the Cavalier with ease, which means that we get an iron lance

~Second Cavalier went for Vaike, missed and was killed

Turn 3:

~ Moved Gaius 1 square right, 2 squares up and 2 squares right

~Moved Ricken/Miriel 1 square left and 1 square down and took out the dark mage hovering down the bottom of the map

~Moved Donnel 1 square down and 1 to the left

~Used Lissa to heal Lon'qu

~Moved Amelia 3 squares down to take out that most annoying of dark mages, even though she left the mage with 2 health

~Moved Chrom down 3 squares and put the wind tome in the convoy and let Chrom attack the cavalier Chrom gained a level

Enemy Phase

~Dark mage went for Chrom and Chrom took minor damage

~The fighter went for Ricken and Ricken took the hardest hit in all of his chapters so far (ouch)

~Dark mage went for Lon'qu again

Turn 4:

~Moved Maribelle to heal Ricken

~Moved Gaius to get the chest that was on the map

~Moved Ricken/Miriel 1 square up and 1 square to the left

~Paired up Vaike with Maribelle

~Switched Chrom for Chloey to lead and had Chloey attack the dark mage that was trying to hurt Chrom and Chrom dual strike Chloey gains a level up:

+1 HP

+1 Str

+1 Skill

+1 Lck

Enemy Phase:

~Thief attacks Ricken and Ricken kills him

~Dark Mage goes for Ricken and Ricken gains a level

~Fighter goes for Chloey and Chloey kills him with a dual strike

Turn 5:

~Moved Gaius 1 square down 2 left

~Moved Chloey/Chrom down 6 squares

~Moved all of the shepherds to surround Validar

Enemy Phase:

~Validar goes for Chloey/Chrom and claims that he knows her and says that if she lets him win, he'll honour her with the truth...although I don't think he will. Chloey takes 13 damage and Chrom dual strikes to kill. Validar claims that this is all wrong and wonders how we could have known his plan. And Chloey gains another level up, catching up to Chrom.

[spoiler=Post Chapter Notes]

So with that we have what is the end of chapter 6 with Chrom and Chloey as the heroes of the chapter. Most though it was Chrom and not really Chloey, although she supported him. I have a few comments to make about this chapter and I guess that this all will compile here. So we realise that Emmeryn is perfectly safe and sound, which is a relief. Chrom of course ends up being thanked by his sister, who if the plan to assassinate her had worked would have been dead. Pretty hard to think about that, and of course Phila has to beg for forgiveness because she failed to once again actually protect her Exalt. I get that she was skilled during peace, but to have the captain of your pegasus knights look so incompetent at her duty would make me want to change things up a lot, like for example firing said commander and getting a new one. This is also the second time that Phila feels guilty that her job hasn't been done properly, so what gives. Chrom is however kind towards the woman and tells her that she could not have known what was to come. Emmeryn stalls a little on the mention of "Marth" the lovely lady that had helped us and has since dissappeared after Emmeryn was saved. Chrom asks Chloey if she's seen Marth and Chloey notes that Marth was there a second ago. Chrom races off to find Marth leaving behind Chloey to talk with Emmeryn to Panne, the taguel who bravely helped take out the assassins :P: and I say this very much sarcastically. However Panne will be joining us in other chapters and I'll be certain to grow her out as best I can, as well as the other shepherds once I get to second seal madness.

And even as we have the fun of celebrating our first real victory it seems that Grima is very much what I like to call a sore loser. Right to the point of childish and downright wasteful. Of course I have to point out that Grima's voice is litterally one of the most creepy voices I have ever heard. I really don't like it and even so it still gives me the chills hearing it.

After all of that we finally come to the most important part of the story, what happens next. Phila says that it's going to take a while to work out how the assassination plot got as far as it did *cough* insider with knowledge of Emmeryn's daily rituals*cough*. Most likely it was someone who was supposed to be on the side of Ylisse but turn coated (I kind of thought that in the beginning when I first played the game). Of course there are no real leads, but Chrom suggests that it was Plegia, which might be a case. Either way Chrom is convinced that Emmeryn is not safe where she is, so he thinks it best that she comes with the shepherds to Regna Ferox. Emmeryn points out that the people would be undefended with the war that is now at Ylisse's borders. Emmeryn wants to stay with the people and Chrom is concerned that something will happen to Emmeryn. Frederick suggests that Emmeryn relocates to the Eastern Palace for the time being. Chrom agrees to the plan wanting to keep Emmeryn out of harms way. He suggests that the shepherds escort her to the palace. And we cut to the end of the chapter

This is starting to look like my longest ever playthrough, although given that my first playthrough took two years to get past Marth, I'd say I'm doing great for time this go :D: I still apologise if it is a little long winded between chapters though.

So now onto Chapter 7 and the continued snowballing of Chrom and Chloey :P:

  • 2 weeks later...
So here we are paralogue 2. Anna appears for the first time and we have all sorts of fun and games now. So why am I doing this chapter now? Well I have a couple that I want to make before we get Cordelia and I want to make absolutely certain that she will be ready for her husband when I get to him. That said this is going to be most interesting as to how I go about this chapter.

I guess I should open with what happens and I will. Here we go!

[spoiler=Story Notes]We open to what is a merchent talking to a solider who obviously tried to take on a group of bandits and was left worse for wear and the soldier dies on the spot. Chrom arrives and asks to know what is going on. We find out that there are bandits that are taking control over a road that is responsible for supplies to a local village. Chrom decides that we have to secure the supply line. So that we shall do. We are after all going to help as best we can!

[spoiler=Tactician Notes]

So while we're waiting for the chapter to begin, we get introduced to Vicent and Victor who are talking about their profits (what else is new) and we see that Anna declares that the village is closed. And so Victor says that she'll fetch a lot of coin and net Vincent a fine home to which Anna replies that traders are known to cut more than prices.

Turn 1:

Our attention is at once bought to the little village by the ever observant Frederick that we need to get there, and I have a plan that will not only get us there, but also help us save Anna, because she needs saving!

~Paired up Chrom with Chloey, Chrom lead

~Paired up Maribelle and Vaike with Maribelle lead

~Paired up Panne with Gaius with Gaius lead

~Paired up Lon'qu with Lissa leading

~Paired up Frederick with Sumia lead

~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 4 squares up

~Moved Maribelle/Vaike 1 square up

~Moved Gaius/Panne 2 squres up and 2 squares right

~Moved Sumia/Frederick 2 squares to the right and took out the barbarian on the bridge

~Moved Chrom/Chloey 3 squares right

The archer went for Anna and the two bottom mages went for Sumia and the barbarians went for Gaius and Maribelle respectively. Anna went for the closest barbarian.

Turn 2:

~Moved Lissa to heal Maribelle

~Moved Maribelle 1 square down to attack the barbarian and Vaike dual strikes for us

~Moved Gaius/Panne 3 squares to the left and 2 squares up to tackle the barbarian. Gaius makes short work of the barbarian

~Moved Chrom 2 square up, 4 squares to the right and a further square up

~Moved Sumia/Frederick 3 squares up

Again the enemy focus on Anna and the village with our archer friends going for Anna like no tomorrow. The sooner we reach her the better. That of course will fall to Chrom and Chloey to get to the village with Chrom getting to the archer class and Chloey getting probably to cleric before she hits the Pegasus Knight class or perhaps remaining a cleric, depending on how she goes for levels and or seals.

Turn 3:

~Moved Chrom/Chloey 4 squares right and 2 squares up

~Moved Gaius/Panne 2 squares right to take out the archer and Panne dual strikes for me. Gaius gains a level and we may see a support conversation unlocked post chaper

~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu to heal Gaius

~Moved Maribelle/Vaike 3 squares to the right

~Moved Sumia/Frederick 4 squares up and 1 square to the left

An archer goes for Anna and does some damage and Chrom scores a critical hit. Of course we're going to have some fun with this...*sarcastic clapping*

Turn 4:

~Moved Chrom Chloey 1 square right and 4 squares up to tackle the archer that keeps going after Anna. Likely we'll hit the village soon, if everything is going to plan

~Moved Maribelle/Vaike 1 square up and 4 squares right

~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 1 square down and 6 squares right

~Moved Gaius/Panne 1 square down and 4 squares right

~Moved Sumia/Frederick 8 squares right

~Anna ends the barbarian that got too close to her

Turn 5:

~Moved Chrom/Chloey 3 squares to the right

~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 3 squares right and 4 sqaures up

~Moved Maribelle/Vaike 1 square right and 3 squares down

~Moved Gaius/Panne 4 squares down

~Moved Sumia/Frederick 3 squares left and 5 squares down

Turn 6:

~Moved Chrom/Chloey up 3 squares to talk to Anna

~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu down 5 squares

~Moved Gaius left 1 square and down 1 square

~Moved Sumia/Frederick 3 squares left 2 squares down

Turn 7:

~Moved Chrom/Chloey down 1 square and got a phsyic staff

~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 4 squares left and 2 squares down

~Kept everyone in place

Gaius gets a kill count as barbarians go for him like no tomorrow. Maribelle is the next target of Victor and takes the 15 damage.

Turn 8:

~Moved Chrom 3 squares down 2 squares left

~Used Lissa to heal Maribelle

~Moved Maribelle 1 square right and took out the archer that would have caused trouble. Vaike dual struck again...I may have another support unlocked :XD:

~Moved Gaius down 1 square to take out Victor. Gaius says "So long Sucker!" and makes the dual strike and ends the map...without a death I might add!! O.O And Gaius gains another level.

And Panne and Gaius are the heroes of the map. A map done without ANY deaths what so ever. I can pat myself on the back for completing what would be one of the most difficult maps for me to do.

Oh and we have happy merchants as well, so it is a win/win! And I unlocked supports like I thought I would :XD:

Welcome to what is the next chapter of Fire Emblem Awakening the Chloey fails version. After a fair amount of level grinding and support grinding, I am now well on my way to having fun with this run. Of course both Chrom and Chloey have used the last of the second seals, Chrom into an archer and Chloey into a pegasus knight against my better judgement. This is the simple reason that I want both Chrom and Chloey to have good stats when we get Lucina (both will be in their first promotion by that stage and hopefully Lucina will get double digit stats...). This time I am not going to comment on the story because well we have the script for it and you can easily replace names...at least if you wanted to. So story notes are going to be minimal. That said I will start this by saying that I have (for the most part) been working within the Golden Gaffe map so I will have plenty of gold for whatever is needed.
And now we come to my tactician notes, which for this post will be fully notes.

:XD: Got ya! Why would I ditch story notes when it's so much fun? Alrighty so we travel with Chrom, Lissa and Frederick who are all obviously leading the convoy with Emmeryn some where in the middle/back of the main force. Chloey has reclassed to Pegasus Knight and Chrom has gone into the archer class, so when he master seals he'll be a sniper, which won't be any time soon D:
We of course have Frederick and some guy who wasn't present in the previous chapter (chapter 6 for those of you who are paying attention) and we find out that he is supposed to be a friend of the House Ylisse...except he seems damn shady to me, but we don't get a chance to say that as the Plegians decide that it's a great time to start a fight with us.

[spoiler=Tactician's Notes]Given that this map has wyverns, archer Chrom is going to have a lot of fun...if I can get him to them...and we have Cordelia to blame for joining us this chapter as well. At least she's got some training on her and starts at level 7. And growing her shouldn't be too difficult...although trying to get her hitched will be fun, especially since her husband doesn't come until chapter 8. Yeah this is going to be a while for rapid support builder me :XD:

Cordelia was killed by an archer so I had to start all over again. This is why I can't go to classic mode :/ or even go for hard mode come to that. So yes this is the worst chapter and now we begin again:

So after finishing chapter 7 I am now able to do two maps. Paralogue 3 and chapter 8. I am leaning towards getting my suffering out of the way and doing paralogue 3 before I swing to do chapter 8. I will try to make a deathless chapter although having lost Cordelia to an archer (casual mode, but still a loss and reset required) I will have to re-think my playing style again :(: I am at least glad that the second attempt was deathless however I am going to have to make extra sure that no one dies again. I know that pegasus knights will be the most useful units come paralogue 3 because this will be about make the villagers get out of the map alive. I won't actually premote Cordelia and Sumia yet until I play base class reclassing as I don't need them to get levels as badly as Chrom and Chloey (for obvious reasons). I have done some outer realm training and now have Chrom as a sniper, and will have to make him grow some more to get to bowknight. Of course I will have to make sure Lucina heads though bowknight as well since she'll need bowbreaker if I am going to do pegasus knight training with her.

Here are a list of the married pairs I have so far on this run:

~Chrom x Chloey

~Lissa x Lon'qu

~Frederick x Sumia

~Sully x Stahl

~Vaike x Maribelle (as far as I know these two are on their A support)

~Miriel x Ricken

~Panne x Gaius

Part of me is actually pleased that this will work out nicely and is following the run that was deleted, and another part of me is eager to see this run completed. I would like to appologise for the lack of images for the last few chapters however it pains me to say that I am having internet issues that so far have put a real damper on this playthrough. I will however try to get as much of the playthough listed up as I can.

Thank you everyone for following this whacky playthough. Who knows I might just post a few other playthroughs for fun :XD:

I just finished paralogue 3, so here it is:
[spoiler=Chapter Comments]So rather than go onto Chapter 8 I have decided that I will deal with the farmers as best I can. Namely Pegasus knights are going to be my saving grace this chapter and we all know that it is purely to help increase the chance that the villagers survive. So I guess that I will be deploying my entire team of Pegasus Knight ladies (Chloey, Sumia and Cordelia). And of course we have Sniper Chrom as well to help us out. Chrom will doubtless help us out, but that is how he is. So now that we have my basic comments now we move onto the story of chapter...er paralogue 3. Wow I am damn good at mixing those up D:

Chap-Paralogue 3 is the first time that we see that risen are actually a problem and a local village has a very unique way of dealing with the problem...i.e they decided that the best idea is to place up barriers to protect themselves from the risen. Dumb on many levels I am just beyond commenting but I will say this; if the villagers showed kindness then it would have been returned to them. We all know that I'll be the first to state that true peace is when the fighting ends for good. Also that village got bad karma so watch it come back and bite them in the ass.

[spoiler=Tactician's Notes]Units deployed:
~Chrom
~Chloey
~Frederick
~Sumia
~Cordelia
~Lon'qu
~Lissa
~Virion
~Sully
~Stahl

For those who are paying attention you'll have noticed that there are a LOT of pegasus knights (well 3) and cavaliers. The reason being that this map relies a lot on being as mobile as possible with a couple of stragglers to help keep at least the village protected :/. Of course in this chapter Lissa spots a rescue staff so I'll be pulling the villagers to safety. This will be a test of deathless run...which I have already failed at, but I will continue to try.

Turn 1:
This turn is pretty important so I'll keep this short and sweet as best as I can.
~Pair up Frederick with Sumia lead moved Sumia/Frederick 3 squares right 3 squares down to attack the javalin wielding knight
~Pair up Chrom with Chloey leading, moved Chloey/Chrom 1 square down and 6 squares left to take out the only archer of the map...err 1 of 2 archers of the map...^^'
~Pair up Virion with Cordelia leading
~Pair up Stahl with Sully leading moved 3 squares right Stahl dual struck and gained a level to boot
~Moved Lon'qu 3 squares up and 2 squaes left and took out the risen myrmidon taking minor damage.
~Moved Cordelia/Virion 3 squares right to take out the risen mercenary
~Moved Lissa to rescue the villager in range of our iron lance wielding knight risen (because I switched her starting position with Stahl. Lissa gains a level as well

:XD:

Turn 2:
~Moved Chloey/Chrom 7 squares down
~Moved Lon'qu 2 right and 3 down
~Moved Cordelia/Virion 3 squares down and 4 squares right and we got a Blessed Bow from the village :/
~Moved Sully/Stahl 1 square right taking out the knight with a Sully dual strike and Stahl finishing the fun
~Moved Sumia/Frederick 8 squares down to take out the mercenary (see Pegasus knights are awesome!)
~Moved Lissa 4 squares right to heal Cordelia

Turn 3:
~Moved Chloey/Chrom 1 square right 3 squares down to take out the risen knight with a lovely dual strike from Chrom
~Moved Sumia/Frederick 4 squares right 2 squares up to take out the other archer of the map with a dual strike from Frederick, who also gained an A weapon

level as well.
~Moved Cordelia/Virion 6 squares down to take out the risen fighter
~Moved Lon'qu 4 squares right and 1 square down
~Moved Lissa 6 squares left to heal Lon'qu Lissa gains another level
~Moved Sully/Stahl 1 square right and 6 squares down

Turn 4:
~Moved Chloey/Chrom to talk to villager 1 had Chloey wait
~Moved Sully/Stahl 2 squares up
~Moved Sumia/Frederick 5 squares left
~Moved Cordelia/Virion 5 squares up and 2 squares left
~Moved Lissa 5 squares right to heal Cordelia
~Pair up Lon'qu with Lissa lead

Turn 5:
~Moved Chloey/Chrom 7 squares right

Turn 6:
~Moved Chloey/Chrom 5 squares right to take out the leading risen who simply says "Raaaah". Chrom finishes the risen with a smooth dual strike and Chloey is so close to another level up it is not funny. She did grow nicely during the enemy phases though. And Chrom and Chloey are the heroes of paralogue 3 :P:

[spoiler=Conclusion Notes]And I saved all of the villagers. I was quite pleased with the results. The villagers are also very happy; a good ending for what was one of the hardest maps that I'd done in the past. Nice to know that I can pass a stage without losing anyone. A nice turn around from chapter 7. Also Frederick asks Chrom why the village locked its gates to the refugees. And Chrom says about the most honest line about the entire thing. The village is very hypocritical.
Items obtained:
~Seraph Robe
~Log
~Ladle

And that ladies and gentlemen is the end of paralogue 3. :XD:

Ah so now we enter chapter 8. After paralogue 3's success I suppose it is now time for the match ups to be made. We don't have any healers (Lissa reclassed to a Pegasus knight) but we should be able to have some fun with this map. If not well, I tried.

[spoiler=Story Notes...]Chrom and Chloey are conversing together about the fact that they so far haven't been spotted by the Plegian army and Chrom is beginning to wonder what sort of trap Gangrel is saving for us. Knowing what I know I shudder to think about who or what is going to go down. Worst part of this is that our units are now going to be unable to move as far as I'd like due to the sand which Frederick points out ever so obviously, which will also affect our enemies. We are of course going to have to deal with a fight this chapter so lets get to it!

[spoiler=Tactician's Notes]Units deployed:
~Chrom
~Chloey
~Sumia
~Frederick
~Cordelia
~Donnel
~Lissa
~Lon'qu
~Amelia
~Maribelle

Turn 1:
~Pair up Donnel with Cordelia
~Pair up Chrom with Chloey
~Pair up Amelia with Maribelle
~Pair up Frederick with Sumia
~Pair up Lon'qu with Lissa
~Pair up Nowi with Gregor Moved Gregor 3 squares up 2 squares right switched for a Nowi lead
~Moved Maribelle/Amelia switched for a Amelia lead
~Moved Chloey/Chrom 8 squares down
~Moved Sumia/Frederick 5 squares down 3 squares right to take out the dark mage, Frederick made a dual strike for us
~Moved Cordelia/Donnel down 7 squares and separated them
~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 3 squares right and Lissa gets both a critical hit and a level

Turn 2:
~Had Amelia/Maribelle take out 1 of two dark mages
~Moved Nowi/Gregor 1 square up and transfered Nowi to Donnel
~Pair up Cordelia with Gregor
~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 5 squares down 2 squares right
~Moved Sumia/Frederick 6 squares down Sumia gets lance level B
~Moved Chloey/Chrom 3 squares down and 4 squares left
~Moved Donnel/Nowi left 2 squares and improved their relationship

Turn 3:
~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu dpwn 7 squares
~Moved Donnel/Nowi 1 square right and switched for a Nowi lead. Nowi deals with the grimleal guy that Donnel chipped last turn and Chloey suddenly realises that the girl is a dragon! Chrom corrects Chloey calling Nowi a manakete. Also that he thought that he'd never see one. Chloey thinks that perhaps we need Nowi's help more so than her needing our help!
~Moved Amelia/Maribelle down 3 squares (damn the lack of movement)
~Had Gregor/Cordelia take out the myrmidon that attacked him last turn
~Moved Chloey/Chrom 5 squares down and 4 squares right (Chrom is a bow knight) Chloey gets some practice and improves her weapon rank
~Moved Sumia/Frederick 2 squares down 4 squares left

Turn 4:
~Moved Amelia 2 squares down 1 square right
~Had Gregor self heal
~Had Nowi/Donnel stay out and attack the dark mage
~Moved Chloey/Chrom 3 squares right 2 squares down
~Moved Sumia/Frederick 4 squares down 4 squares right
~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 4 squares down 2 squares right

Turn 5:
~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 3 squares down 2 squares left
~Used Nowi to attack the dark mage and finish what was last turn. Nowi gains a good level up
~Moved Chloey/Chrom 1 square right to end the map, Chloey getting a critical hit.
The map ends with Chloey and Chrom as the map heroes.

[spoiler=Ending Notes]Nowi cries that it is the worst day ever and Gregor tells her that at least the bad guys are no longer going to do anything and Nowi thanks and apologises to him. Of course Nowi states that she is uncomfortable with others outside her age group, but Gregor states calmly that he is closer to her age than the others. Chrom asks if Gregor can take care of Nowi. Of course he is of the mindset that we need to get a move on and save Emmeryn. Gregor suggests that we hire him instead and Nowi needs a place to be. Especially since she was sold as a slave previously. We find out that Nowi's about a thousand years old. As a manakete she will be quite strong.
Frederick tells us that manaketes are more resilient than humans, and honestly I can say that Nowi needs to grow a bit more first. Thankfully I can help her grow and get her a husband in the same token. Of course this is when the Grimleal come up and once again we get amnesia plot line as poor Chloey has no idea who the Grimleal actually are. We find out that they are worshipers of Grima and want the dragon to return. Which we do not. So that is that.

So I am now up to Chapter 9...and we all know what is going to happen...D:

Chapter 9
So we reach the nineth chapter in my current let's play fail run this is going to be a running joke I swear, like the running gag of Sumia falling on her face:

96_by_thesilentchloey-d9h8lh6.jpg

Poor Sumia, but still you can't blame her because that is "all she is good for" according to her. Any who, that is not what this is about this is about Aversa and her muderous behaviour. Why else would fun be had...

That said this is where we don't have the time to act silly. Chloey has been reclassed as she has galeforce now. However seeing that Maribelle and Lissa are no longer healers, I am sure that Chloey will do fine especially since she seems to have been magically gifted in this run, Chrom is a great knight and has speed, skill and luck all capped. Not bad for frantic training that I've been doing with him.
Oh I forgot about the story notes! How could I have done that. Well there isn't much to actually say about the story except that Aversa kills a guy while Gangrel demands that she make sure that there are at least some soldiers that are there to greet the Ylisseans. Of course we all know that this is not going to end well and I shudder to think what is going to happen next.

~Had Chloey use her rescue staff breaking it

Turn 8:
~Moved Nowi/Donnel 2 squares down
~Moved Chloey/Chrom to heal Nowi

Durring the enemy phase Nowi and Donnel ended the map with a lovely double dual strike and Nowi gains a level. The heroes of the map is Lissa and Lon'qu...although how is most interesting.

Now comes the most painful part of this chapter. I am of course refering to the most painful cutscene that there is in Fire Emblem history that I know of having only played Awakening and I hate it. Everytime I see that cutscene I actually cry. So I will leave this here because we all know what happens. And I hate Gangrel for it. Especially since Emmeryn had done nothing to him personally. All she did was stop a useless war. And I'd better stop before I get too serious.

So now we now come onto what is the aftermarth of Emmeryn's death and I mean death. Ugh it is not fun at all worst chapter of the game, that and I almost lost Marth :/ and now we have fun trying to get Anna!

[spoiler=Side Story 4 Notes]Anna seems to me to be a love her or hate her character but I could be wrong. If I am that would be funny. I think the best way to discribe this chapter is nothing short of a vengance chapter. Vincent wants revenge for his err brother Victor that the shepherds ended in Side Story 2. Of course there is some random merchant to let us know what is happening. Of course Anna is skilled at picking locks which reminds me that we need Gaius in this chapter (damn it!) and I doubt that the standard Chrom/Chloey combo is going to help us here like normal. Double damn.

At least Chrom is of a mind set that helping Anna is for the best. :D:

[spoiler=Tactician's Notes]We interupt your scheduled Tactician's notes for some minor story...at least in theory So as mentioned before we're going to need Gaius because this map has some lovely items that Chloey wants for the convoy...let's see if we can get 'em!

Units deployed:

~Chrom

~Chloey

~Gaius

~Panne

~Lissa

~Lon'qu

~Prince Marth

~Amelia

~Sumia

~Frederick

~Libra

~Tharja

Positions:

unit_placement_by_thesilentchloey-d9varm

These are important as I want Gaius to moved up the right hand side of the map while Frederick/Sumia will cover him alongside Panne. Marth will help Chrom get to Anna for a swift two turn recruit...at least I hope so. And Chloey is there to make sure we get all of the healing we need :D: I like being a healer more so than a fighter.

Turn 1:

~Pair up Panne with Gaius

~Pair up Sumia with Frederick

~Pair up Amelia with Marth

~Pair up Lon'qu with Lissa

~Moved Tharja 1 square up and 2 right

~Moved Marth/Amelia 1 square right and 1 square up

~Moved Frederick/Sumia 1 square right 3 squares up and Sumia gives us a lovely dual strike

~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 1 squre right 7 squares up Lon'qu gives a lovely dual strike

~Pair up Chloey with Chrom, moved Chrom/Chloey 5 squares up 2 squares left 1 square down

~Pair up Libra with Tharja

~Moved Gaius/Panne 5 squares up

Turn 2:

~Moved Gaius/Panne 2 squares left to unlock the door

~Moved Frederick/Sumia 1 square left and 5 squares up

~Moved Marth/Amelia 5 squares up

~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 3 squares right 3 squares up

~Had Tharja end the myrmidon

~Moved Chrom/Chloey 5 squares up and switched for a Chloey lead

Turn 3

~Moved Chloey/Chrom down 1 square and switched for a Chrom lead to recruit Anna

~Moved Anna 4 squares right

~Had Tharja take out the mage

~Moved Marth/Amelia down 6 squares

~Moved Gaius/Panne 1 square right 4 squares up

~Moved Frederick/Sumia 3 squares up

~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 3 squares down

Turn 4:

~Moved Anna 4 squares left 1 square up

~Moved Tharja/Libra 1 square right 4 squares up and separated

~Moved Marth/Amelia 4 squares up

~Moved Chrom/Chloey 3 squares up 5 squares across and switched for a Chloey lead

~Moved Gaius/Panne 1 square right 4 squares up

Turn 5:

~Moved Anna 2 squares up

~Moved Chloey 3 squares up 1 squre left

~Pair up Libra with Tharja moved Tharja 5 sqaures right separated

~Moved Gaius/Panne 1 square up

~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 5 sqaures up

~Moved Marth/Amelia 4 squares up

~Moved Frederick/Sumia 3 squares up

Turn 6:

~Moved Anna 5 squares up

~Moved Libra 4 squares up

~Moved Frederick/Sumia 3 squares up

~Moved Gaius 1 square left 2 squares up

~Moved Chloey 4 squares right

~Moved Lissa 4 squares up and 4 squares right

Lissa and Lon'qu are the heroes of the map and Anna thanks us for our help, although I am pretty certain that we have already helped her out before...and of course as it turns out we actually helped out one of her sisters and poor Chrom feels quite uncomfortable and Anna ends the chapter stating that we won't make a loss with her in toe...well I hope so at least...

And an extra chapter before I get some much needed rest...>.>

On a much anticipated side note, Chrom is now a Great Lord and will (for now) stay that way while he's got stats capping left and right at least until I get him both limitbreaker and into the dread fighter class. I have Chloey in the Grandmaster class (like Amelia who I will eventually reclass to get the set up she needs for when she goes into a dark flier) and for now we are set for the next chapter. I think though that I will be reclassing Chloey soon into Bride just because I want to see it and see how it works out for her :D:. I will let you know how I go and I'll be sure to take a few screenshots for the fun :XD:

Don t be shame about your pairs, first playthough and first Fire Emblem you can do whatever you want and noone can blame you. But when you get it, tell me the int cap of your sage Laurent. Miriel x Ricken let very limited class poll but I hope worth for support duo if he have very high int.

If you need some advice, feel free too ask. I will tell less possible to let your fully engoy your playthough.

I'll be sure to answer this as I do this playthrough (I believe that Laurent has a +6 Magic stat cap with Ricken, but we'll see)

Now onto chapter 10. We have Anna but I'll be shaking up the deployed units this time around because there are some guys that we haven't seen in a few chapters and growth is good!

[spoiler=Renewal]So after watching Emmeryn die I thought that I would take a moment and point out that this is a low point for Chrom and Chloey. Our couple have been through a rough patch in their relationship. For Chloey at least this is the lowest point. She failed to save Emmeryn...WE failed to save Emmeryn. I know that it is scripted and it is horrible to witness, but it still doesn't take the sting out of the chapter, regardless of the implications of the spotpass chapters.

Even so Chrom is not exactly in what I'd call a good place right about now, it isn't until Chloey makes a plea with him that he sort of comes around but even then it takes a Plegian to bring Chrom out of his slump.

Turn 5:

~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 5 squares up 1 square left Lissa ending the turn with a critical hit

The heroes of the map are Lissa and Lon'qu

[spoiler=End of Map Notes]So with the map being ended with Lissa and Lon'qu as the heroes it seems that we must now make haste to Ferox. Of course the lovely Olivia is helping with this escape to fight another day. Thankfully we arrive in Ferox without further casulties. Only our battered pride and wounded hearts.

Chloey natually takes the blame for her plan to save Emmeryn, even though Chrom says it wasn't her fault. He lays the blame at his own feet, and Chloey isn't having a bar of it and does what she can to lift the man's spirit. And along comes the most powerful line that Chloey has said to date,
"I don't think that either of us is half the person your sister [Emmeryn] was. But together...maybe we can be something more. If you fall, I'll be there to pull you back up. When you fight for your sister's ideals, I'll be by your side. You don't have to become your sister, you know. You can still be true to yourself. You just have to give people hope in whatever way you can"

Although Chrom has his doubts Chloey end the debate with the following,

"If you aren't worthy, you'll keep at it until you are. And if we both fall down, well, that's what friends are for, isn't it?"

And everyone does their best to help Chrom gain strength again to face Gangrel in the next chapter

And that is the end of chapter 10. It was a bit hair-raising as everyone took a fair amount of damage this chapter (Panne and Kellam) but at least I ended the map in a reasonable length of time. The time it took me to write this post up actually...or maybe a bit shorter than that :XD:

Chapter 11
This is the chapter in which, most obviously Chrom has to be married by, or at least getting enough support to marry whoever it is that you want him to marry. Most people go for Sumia however this is a run that miss Sumia is married to another.
[spoiler=Chapter 11 Comments...]We open to see Gangrel chatting with Aversa, mostly unaffected by Emmeryn's sacrifice, they note that the "enemy" has returned. It is of course now that Gangrel states that he could beat us by breaking wind. Of course this goes on to Gangrel being one cocky man. Really cocky. Which is then ended as he is informed that the men are leaving the field and chanting Emmeryn's name as they do so. Chrom naturally finds out and we see Chloey smile. Obviously this turn of events are what she was hoping for...not Emmeryn's death but the end of all the fighting without bloodshed. I know that is what I would want.

And Vaike and Maribelle ended up being the heroes of the map :XD: well I suppose that they did get a lot of attention from the enemies in between turns so it was only natural that this would happen!

[spoiler=Post Chapter comments]Now that we've beaten Gangrel the people of Plegia are surrendering quite quickly and Chrom calls for an end to hostilities. With the war at its end we can at last turn our attention to more important things...namely reclassing Chloey yet again because of Lucina and hitting up Sorcerer to hopefully lift Lucina's magic stat...hopefully :XD:

Chapter 12
So we're back again for another chapter of Awakening. Today's efforts is the 12th chapter in the game and I can only hope that Virion is trained up enough to keep up with Cherche. And yes I'm going for the greyish haired Gerome...
Anyway we find out that the Valmese are causing a huge lot of trouble and we need to stop them from attacking our allies from Regna Ferox. So now that we have the back story, it's time to tip the scales!

Ah yes, chapter 13 the one in which Aversa creeps me out with her somewhat smug tone that makes me want to hurl everytime I hear it and it seems that Chrom shares my sentiment on the matter being quite surprised to see her there. Of course she makes him uneasy to say the least knowing that she's served Gangrel...

But I digress. Talk turns to Validar and the fact that obviously he's Grimleal. And so too is Aversa...funnily enough. As if I'd not have guessed that before.

[spoiler=Chapter notes]

So we meet Validar who is of course the same bastard that tried to kill Emmeryn way back in chapter 6 and Chloey and Chrom killed his ass. Of course it's not surprising to see Chrom has a slightly negative reaction, but as Validar talks to Chloey I get chills down my spine everytime I hear his voice. I also like how Chrom's reaction here is to try not to draw attention to his tactician and try to explain what he's trying to wrap his head around. And the funny thing is that Chloey doesn't have an answer to Chrom's question/response to Validar. Chloey asks Chrom what to do and Chrom tells her to keep her guard up and stay close. And this is the part where Grima decides to show its face...which is ironically the same face as...you guessed it Chloey!!

So poor Chloey has a doppleganger that litterally shakes her and the shepherds up. Especially Chrom and Frederick. Too bad we don't see our Chloey as well. That would actually be interesting to see her reaction. However we don't get much time to ponder on what is going on.

It isn't until later that we find out that Chloey is unble to sleep because of what happened and she's trying to figure out how there are essentially two of her. This is when Validar decides that playing with Chloey's head and trying to make her turn to Grima (as if I would) and Chrom interrupts him and Validar leaves a shaken Chloey. Of course Chloey can't really tell Chrom if said doppleganger is real or not. Chrom supports Chloey and gives her the resolve that she needs to get her work done.

[spoiler=Tactician's Notes]Units deployed:
~Chrom
~Chloey
~Tharja

Unit gained: Henry

Turn 1:
~Pair up Henry with Tharja
~Pair up Chrom with Chloey
~Moved Tharja/Henry 5 squares up swaped for a Henry lead and gave him a mire tome to play with
~Moved Chloey/Chrom 6 squares up and ended Henry's archer friend
~Moved Chloey 4 squares up to take out the risen chief
Chloey and Chrom won the map and I have made a chapter 13 record of beating it in one turn :XD:

[spoiler=Ending Notes]So Chrom takes a quick breather and a risen assassin appears and who appears but "Marth" that comes to Chrom's aid...even though Chrom is strong enough to deal with it himself and would have taken 0 damage.

And "Marth" gets caught out calling Chrom father and reveals that she is actually none other than...Lucina?! But how is that possible Lucina is still a baby back at the palace that we were forced to leave behind because of the Valmese causing trouble...unless...Lucina is from the future! Which is crazy but as the Lucina before us explains it's true. She and some children from the past came to the future to help save the world from Grima.

And now we come to the fun part, Lucina seeing her mother again. Chloey doesn't believe it at first but then she sees that it is indeed Lucina. At first her concern is the baby, but Lucina explains that she is from the future and she has proof because she carries the future Falchion. Chloey asks Lucina what happened in her timeline and Lucina explains that Grima is woken up again and that all of the shepherds are dead. Lucina explains that she came into the past with others but she and the others became separated and Lissa (who somehow appears) says that we'll help her find them.

After all of that it's time for Lucina to actually meet her mother properly. Chloey is of course very proud of Lucina and says, "Chrom and I are truly blessed." and Lucina thanks her mother...a little awkwardly until Chloey tells her that she would rather be called mother by Lucina and the young woman has a touching and much needed moment with her mother. Of course if you've been follow this run you'll know that Chloey is smaller than Lucina. However it is clear that no height difference will stop Chloey giving Lucina a much needed hug.

Now for the slightly important stats of Lucina:
HP: 57
Strength: 26 and capped
Magic: 12 (grr damn your low magic Chrom! Although I guess you're not magically inclined)
Skill: 28 and capped
Speed: 30 and capped
Luck: 31 and capped
Defence: 29 and capped
Resistance: 18
So with this in mind it seems that Lucina has a good start! And now the part that we've all been waiting for Lucina's reclass into the tactician!! Veteran and discipline are the skills that will set her up well for her reclassing fun and tomes are the game here! This is especially needed for Chapter 14. Mages are what we need and Lucina can do anything like her mother.

So now I will move onto the next chapter, but first I will reveal the married couples who have a child paralogue:

~ Chrom and Chloey have unlocked Side Story 12

~Stahl and Sully have unlocked side Story 8

~Vaike and Maribelle have unlocked Side Story 7

~Ricken and Miriel have unlocked Side Story 14

~Gaius and Panne have unlocked Side Story 13

~Gregor and Cordelia have unlocked Side Story 10

~Frederick and Sumia have unlocked Side Story 9

~Lon'qu and Lissa have unlocked Side Story 5

So I'm missing Noire's and Gerome's Side stories. Not bad for the support grinding I've been doing via DLC. Which I have been doing since the moment that I could because I find supports very important to help my units in battle. The fact of the matter is that supported units have saved each other when they really needed it.

Hello all I am debating whether or not to get Morgan/Nah or go to the next chapter (14) given that I have been doing a lot of DLC grinding and have Lucina and a few other characters in desperate need of second seals should I go for the second seals or snap on ahead for the sake of story...(I need second seals anyway but I am not so sure)

If you think the chapter became too hard you can get second seals, if not you can continue without.

It's not about the chapter being too hard it's about units that aren't going to grow any further that need it. The chapter is fairly easy, however certain needed units are not up to scratch and could easily die even with the best tactical work.

Given the results on the poll that I posted, I will now reveal the fruits of my labour,

[spoiler=Chapter Notes]So given the pool as to whether or not I go for Nah and I have decided that given that I am going for a manakete build Nah that it's best for Donnel to hand down underdog. And Nah should be easy to get once I take out the enemies. For that Chloey and Chrom will be the most important members and it will allow for training of other units and the kids should be able to grow with a bit of help.

So with that said and done, now we move onto the next point of business. Getting Nah will be fairly difficult to say the least, but she SHOULD be able to be recruited without trouble.

It sure is nice to the second seals that I need. Now to have the weaponry to match. All in the growth of the units to make stronger babies.

I prefer change class to get usefull skill like vantage, armsthrift, anatema, discipline or moviment+1.

Vantage is very usefull when enemy try kill this unit because you can attack first so you can kill enemy before he can hurt you or heal with sun or aether.

Armsthrift after you hit 50 luck you can use powerfull weapon without reserve, like reforge grass weapon, cheap and powerfull.

Anathema help add hit chance and crit chance against enemy within you range, it's little but can change from hit and not hit.

Discipline help you level weapon rank which add damage and hit chance.

Moviment+1 can help reach enemy or village, just little advantage about positioning.

I'll assume you mean Sol there. I also don't like to put units in unnecessary danager and Vantage to me is far too risky. Especially since there is too great a chance that Sol won't activate at all and then units are in danager of dying.

+Move is alright, but I wouldn't want to rely on it too much, again for tactical reasons.

Sometimes will save you, it just a skill better than other. You not need always have half hp, just when you are, you have a chance to kill your enemies without take damage. Attack is the best defense.

I play more defensively so that is why I don't like vantage, far better to have full HP against enemies that could kill your units if they have less health. I've lost a lot of units just because they didn't have enough def/hp. Not a risk I would make ever again.

I always run Lifetaker as a healing skill. It always triggers when you kill an enemy in your turn and the HP recovery is great overall. With Morgan however I run Aether instead of Lifetaker, but interestingly she seems to always trigger it when she needs health and even crits if she's in desperate need of it. It's weird and amazing.
