Is ryoma's haircut possible?

Recommended Posts

You'd need a LOT of hair. Not just for length, but for volume.

But I think it's doable, even if a hairstylist would cost and arm and a leg.

Ryouma's hairstyle is based on one particular japanese headwear that looks like a long messy wig with horns. I think it's mostly associated with Takeda Shingen in japanese media. So technically his real hair is based on something that is a pseudo wig.

Hair should ideally be thick and straight, and you need to grow it out until it's waist-length or so. When you go to your hairstylist (maybe not a barber), ask them about keeping the volume but cutting it in layers. You can style it with pomade and wax but I suggest you use clay hair products, ideal for hairstyles that require tons of volume without having to worry about the styling product weighing down your hair.

If you get impatient or want to practice, you can buy a wig and test out techniques? In any case, it might be the way to go, since Cat Villager's info is right on the money.

First, you'd need to grow your hair out, and hope and pray that you have the volume to pull it off.

Once you get the initial cut, I think it would be something like once every 4-6 weeks to maintain it. While I don't have Ryoma's hair length, I do have layered hair, and that's about how often I need to go to keep my hair looking half-decent.

You'll probably need to use an entire bottle of shampoo to clean it each day. Just saying

This is not necessarily true, my hair is longer than Ryoma's. I only use a little more shampoo than average. But my hair is only medium-thick. It might turn out different for others.
