Edit : The game is out now, so there's multiple people streaming the game on twitch. Just search for #FE. I'll just update for more informations and comment on the game now, no more stream specific following.

Fixed some of links in cutscenes section. Fixed some more cutscenes links (some with youtube links).

hamayama and narumi23 are streaming the game right now. I'll try to keep the post and the status of the streams updated.

The first stream also have gamepad display on screen and is at the beginning of the game, Normal difficulty.

The second is farther into the game, but there is also a weird reverberating sound effect on dialogue, Normal difficulty.

hamayama's stream is over, currently in middle of episode 4. (Edit : It seems like twitch closed his channel, so... every links to his stream and replays are dead)

Old replays avaiable, here (Start of the game, Prologue), here (end of Prologue to beginning of Episode 2), here (Episode 2 + side story) and here (Episode 2 to beginning of episode 4 + side story). They obviously contain spoilers, so proceed at your own discretion.

narumi23's stream is over, just finished episode 4.

Old replays available here (Episode 2, not full), here (Episode 3) and here (Episode 4). Same as above for spoilers.

Also a few observations (some in spoiler just in case),

Difficulty setting available, Easy/Normal/Hard. The game seems already really challenging in Normal difficulty.

Auto/Skip function for the dialogue available.

The profile of each character is really detailed, with things like blood type, height, etc...

Only 3 items equipped per character, Weapon/Accessory/Costume.

Non-randomized dungeons.

Strong mirage encounters visible, in black/golden cloaks compared to the normal red ones (black ones are called "Wild ennemies").

Normal attacks don't trigger Session, even when hitting weaknesses.

Ennemies can also use Session.

During combat, gamepad screen keeps track of ennemies HP/EP remaining, skills they possess, stats, resistance/weakness.

You can earn money with each hit performed after 3 (included) in Session (saw Tsubasa getting money at 2, but it doesn't seem consistent before 3).

Buff/Debuff seems to affect all party members/ennemies. Also, their duration is visible via an indicator near the portraits of the characters.

New status ailment "Zombie", makes the character lose HP each turn, attack allies and affecting them with "Zombie", and prevents them from participating in Session.

Ilyana is a waitress in a cafe.

I think Aimee is the shopkeeper of the accessory shop.

Tiki weights around 3GB.

Tharja likes dungeon 2 setting.

Gangrel boss fight doesn't seem as easy as in the E3 treehouse stream. Which is a good thing, but the party was slightly underleveled.

Black Frost Anna sells combat items like spell stones, healing items, etc... Also HEE HAW.

Blonde hair Tsubasa...

Also some personal remarks :

Tsubasa is really funny. And also is Kiria number 1 fangirl.

Really like Yashiro animation for Slash, iai stance then disappears, a slashing effect appears on target, he reappears next to the target, not facing it with a sheathing motion then jumps back to his initial position. Extremely myrmidon like.

Music are really good imo, especially Boss theme.

Bosses and sub-bosses have pretty interesting encounter design imo.

I've seen some people complain about the difficulty on twitch (well, hamayama himself and some of his japanese fellows), I don't think these are justified. Indeed the game is pretty hard and unforgiving, even in normal mode, but it seems on par with SMT games difficulty (haven't played one, but I think I still have a good understanding of these games), and imo, he isn't playing that well (I know it's easy to say just from a spectator viewpoint, and I'm no SMT expert), a few examples :

he doesn't pay enough attention to opposing mirage affinities (axe wielder ? spear user ?) and so often doesn't cover the weaknesses of his party members (keeps Tsubasa and Touma against Axe Fighters).

he doesn't use buffs/debuffs, these are REALLY powerful in SMT games in general.

he seems to always be slightly underleveled, not really his fault, but I suppose these games require you to grind a little sometimes (which he does).

iirc, narumi23 did better overall, he did die at some moments, but usually understood quickly how to overcome the fights.

[spoiler=Slight spoilers, Mirage skills]

They are mostly derived from SMT skills/spells, I precised some for those who aren't familiar with them. The list isn't exhaustive, but gives an idea of the skills they can learn.

Itsuki/Chrom, mainly sword skills (horseslayer, dual slayer (horse and armor), Heat Wave...), Electricity spells (Zio, Mazio, Zionga...).

Can also obtain some support skills, like Dia, Diarama, Rakukaja, Rakunda, Charge (Power Charge iirc) and Trafuri.

Tsubasa/Shiida, mainly lance skills, Wind spells (Zan, Zanma...), Healing spells (Dia, Media, etc), status ailment curing spells (Posumundi, Charmdi, Recarm...)

Can also obtain some single target Fire spells (Agilao, Agidyne), Sukukaja and Traport (utility skill, out of combat).

Touma/Cain, mainly physical, lance skills (Horseslayer, Assault Dive, Javelin rain...), one fire physical skill, one wind physical skill.

Also gets few support skills, like Dekaja, Rakunda, Estoma (utility skill, out of combat).

Kiria/Tharja, mainly spells, Dark ("ミイル" "Miiru"), Ice (Bufu, Mabufu...) and Fire (Maragi, Agilao...) spells.

Also have Sleeping Song (Dark element, status ailment), and can obtain other spells, like Tarunda, Zanma (Wind), Megido (Almighty), Concentrate (Mind Charge) and Lightoma (utility skill, out of combat).

Eleonora/Virion, mainly bow skills (Arrow Rain, Poison shot, Mind shot...).

Also have "スロウマ" (slowma ? utility skill, out of combat) and can obtain Rakunda and some Thunder/Fire physical skills.

Mamori/Draug, mainly axe skills and have a passive/skill that allows her to take hits in place of allies.

Also have Riberama (utility skill, out of combat), and can obtain a few Ice/Thunder physical skills, and some support skills (Media, Tetraguard).

Yashiro/Navarre, sword skills, Sukukaja, Counter.

[spoiler=Slight spoilers, Mirage promotions]

Bolded classes weren't shown before release. Bolded stats indicates that stat gets a bigger boost for that promotion compared to the other. (Need to reconfirm Chrom's, but it should be accurate)

Chrom Great Lord (+HP, +EP, +Str, +Mag, +Skl, +Spd, -Def, +Res) /// Conqueror (+HP, +EP, +Str, +Mag, +Skl, +Spd, +Def, -Res)

Shiida Falcon Knight (+HP, +EP, +Str, +Mag, +Skl +Spd, +Def, +Res) /// Dracoknight (+HP, -EP, +Str, +Mag, +Skl, +Spd, +Def)

Cain Paladin (+HP, +EP, +Str, -Spd, +Def, +Res) /// Dark Knight (+HP, +EP, +Str, +Mag, -Spd, +Def, +Res)

Tharja, Sage ("賢者" +HP, +EP, +Str, +Skl, +Spd, +Def, +Res) /// Sorcerer (really colorful, that's... kind of strange, +HP, +EP, +Str, +Mag, +Skl, +Spd, +Def).

Draug General (+HP, +EP, +Str, +Mag, +Skl, +Spd, +Def, +Res) /// Berserker (+HP, +EP, +Str, +Mag, +Skl, +Spd, +Def, +Res)

Virion Sniper (+HP, +EP, +Str, +Mag, +Skl, +Def, +Res) /// Assassin (didn't see full model, but the portrait looks pretty cool, hooded with a mask, +HP, +EP, +Str, +Mag, +Spd, +Def, +Res)

Basic equipment system by the looks of it, and the elemental affinities stuff, along with the weapon triangles. We also now know, that it is segmented into "Episodes" and that there are multiple difficulties, Also the session system seems to rely on using weaknesses more than it being like the press turns system. You can see Tsubasa's portrait light up when Itsuki looks at an enemy he can use a weakness of, also the menu shows the entire cast depending on who is in the game so far, thats pretty neat.

The Dungeon Crawling reminds me of SMT4's more than Persona 3's

Tons and I mean tons of skill slots... I'll be keeping an eye on these, thanks for the heads up.

Ennemies can also use Session. The boss fight theme is pretty good imo.

Skills are acquired depending on the weapon equipped, reminds me of the Final Fantasy Tactics system, but with multiples skills/passives for each weapons.

"Coordinate Power" seems to be the weapon strenght (weapons created later give you more "Coordinate Power" than the previous ones, so that's my hypothesis).

But at the same time, your resistances/weaknesses are tied to the weapon equipped, so you may need to switch back to a previous weapon in case a boss or ennemies in the area use more of an element.

I expected as much, seems like a "classic" Atlus RPG (well, comparing to the game I've played/seen) gameplay wise. The "entertainment" theme is what set the game apart, and sadly will (and already do) put off people.

Sales forecasts don't look good, which is a shame, but was to be expected.

Oh, and also, Famitsu review score 8/9/9/8, 34/40, I've heard Famitsu does comment on the score, but I've not seen that yet.

I will keep an eye on review scores and sales data, and maybe do another thread to discuss them after we get the first sales number.

I love the music.

Shame about the load times, tho.

I like it too, having a game with an entertainment theme and idols but with bad music would be...

The loading aren't that long imo, but yeah.

Really like the scenery in the dungeon narumi23 is in, it was shown in previous videos (

).

[spoiler=REALLY BIG SPOILER, Episode 3 end boss]Draug is a boss. And he seems obnoxious as hell to fight. For those who have played Bravely Default, he does what the Knight Asterisk holder does, ie taking hits for the other ennemies. Ennemies that keep spawning of course, and also some are healers.

The game doesn't seem easy at all, there are multiple difficulties iirc, I'll try to check what difficulty the streamers are playing in. But so far, I think it is quite alike to SMT/Persona and Fire Emblem difficulty, some enemies hit hard.

Normal difficulty for hamayama, and he just got a game over.

Normal difficulty for narumi23 too. The game really isn't easy.

Gamepad keeping track of ennemy information like stats and the skills they used, in addition to the other information available in the main screen (HP/EP remaining, resistance/weakness) is nice.

I don't know if I find Barry more hilarious or annoying.

I like Yashiro's theme. His whole performance is available on one of narumi23 replay.

Dungeons don't seem randomized, they seem to have interesting mechanic.

The one narumi23 is in right now have some sort of grid on the ground at one place, with red square that you can't cross, blue square that you can, and "!" square affecting you with status effects (like poison). You can access it by multiple catwalks and change the squares pattern on different rows to make a path.

Also the next area have a place that repeat itself like a maze, and you have to navigate through it with hints that the intermediate room gives you on multiple tv screens.

[spoiler=BIG SPOILER, Episode 4 end boss]Excellus with Yashiro, the boss fight seems really difficult.

Yashiro buff them with Sukukaja (Evasion/Accuracy) and buff himself with "Counter", then spam Slash while Excellus at first uses all elements-LA skills at first (he also has a healing spell he uses on Yashiro).

Then a some point will use an almighty skill hitting all the party and giving him elemental attunement, hinting which spells he is going to use. He'll try to hit weaknesses to activate Session with Yashiro.

At low hp% (<50% ?), he will spam ALL MA-DYNE ELEMENTS, meaning really high damage on your whole party and frequent Session from Yashiro.

Can someone sreencap the promos for Tharja and Virion? (or point to which stream they're in?)

[spoiler=Just in case]There's only the portraits for Sage Tharja, and both Virion promotions.

But otherwise, it's here at 3h40min.

Thanks,

and yeah, Tharja's other class is Sage (Since Virion gets Assassin I wonder what Navarre gets, Hero?)

I think thats a good guess, Navarre used to be the Mercenary class in ye olden FE before the Myrm class was made, it would be a cool little nod to it

Some speculations, but since we got Aversa, Gangrel, Excellus, Cervantes (all shown pre release), I think Walhart and Validar may appear in the game too later on. But that means not many ennemies from Marth's games, unless the game is longer than it appears to be (iirc, narumi23 just finished episode 4, and is between 20-30h). I'm not too familiar with Marth's games, so I can't really guess who may show up as opposing Mirages.

[spoiler=Just in case, but shown pre release too]Well, the 3 pegasus sisters are in too, but... they aren't really villains, yet it seems like we do fight them.

[spoiler=Big spoiler, episode 3 end boss]Then again, Draug is also a boss, and also not a villain...

Ah, and also, if someone gets a better understanding at the Session system, I'm interested. I don't know yet why sometimes there are 5 attacks following, and sometimes 3, or 2. I thought it was tied to when the other characters are taking turn and when the ennemies are, but I don't think that's it.

Edit : Well, I think I may have an answer to my own question, before the kanji "追" in the Session skill, there are kanji for an element, like "風" (Wind), "" (Thunder), "剣" (Sword), "弓" (Bow), then the name of the skill performed in Session. So it may be like "following *element*, use *skill* ". I wish I was better at understading japanese.

Yeah, that's how it works:

Session Skills are a bit more complex–these trigger when a character exploits an enemy weakness and can be chained by standby battle members if the affinities connect.

An example shown is Tsubasa’s Zan (Wind) being followed by Mamori’s Wind-linked Double Slice +1 (Axe) and finally Itsuki’s Axe-linked Thunder (Thunder).

Oh. It's been a long time, forgot about that. I thought at first that it was all members with "element" doing a follow up, but it is indeed as you said. Which makes it more interesting imo.

Thats gonna be really disappointing if Abel is the only Archanean Antagonist, I really hope there's more.

Seeing how things have been so far, I expect at least 3 more bosses from characters they presented pre release, and we also have 3 remaining known "ennemy" mirages,

[spoiler=Just in case]Abel, Lon'qu and Cervantes.

But I don't expect the game to end against one of them and not having any surprises left, I don't have anything against them, but that would be anticlimactic.

[spoiler=Slight side story spoilers]Tiki wants a honey chocolate caramel banana donut, the consequences on Itsuki were surprising.

Also, Kiria wants to kill everyone. Just saw how that side story ends... I think that's the most unexpected thing that will ever happen in the game.

Hamayama not using buffs at all kinda frustrated me but I was under the impression that he probably only played Persona 3/4 so that'd make a lot of sense why he thought buffs were useless(Buffs are still very useful in this games but not really I guess needed)

I saw him complain several times about the game's difficulty and all I had to say is "Welcome to SMT sonny sit down and enjoy your stay" lol.

The game seems like a mixture of DDS(Transformations and what not) and classic SMT which is really cool. I thought it was gonna be Nintendo Persona in terms of gameplay which woulda been fine but I don't wanna blast through that game. Liking what I've seen so far.

Also did you guys catch all the promotions? I think Tharja can be Sage and Virion can become Assassin some of the Kanji was hard for me to read cause I'm kinda sorta blind.

Yeah, I saw you comment on twitch. As I said, I don't think hamayama was playing exceptionnally well. Buffs/debuffs affecting the whole party from the get go (not having to wait until mid/late game to get ma-kaja/kunda) seems extremely powerful, narumi23 did use them and it did him well.

About the promotions, I've listed them in the first post since a moment. You can check them there, I'll add Navarre's when I get to see them on narumi23's stream or maybe if hamayama gets back and catches up to him. Hopefully, more people will be streaming the game in the next few days since the game will be officially released.
