Usage Policy:
I do NOT need visual credit for images requested here however I do expect that if anybody asks you refer them back to me either by linking them to this shop or giving them my username as I tend to use the same name most places I frequent. Any requests here should only be used by those requesting the images, I do however reserve the right to use finished images as examples.

Editing Notes:
Just because you ask for a signature you are NOT required to use it and whilst I am willing to attempt edits there however a few restrictions so I'm not editing ad infinitum.
1) If you request the bare minimum of just posting the name of the character and the text and end up disliking the image I'm less likely to perform edits due to lack of information in the initial post.
2) If you keep wanting a complete 180 from yur request I'm less likely to perform edits as you should try to pin down what you want before requesting to begin with.
3) As the number of edits of an image grows you're likely better off asking somebody else to help you with your image instead asking for edits should my work keep falling short so at some port I'll end up recommending you try a different shop.

Request Form:
1*) Character - If you want a specific pose you must provide it otherwise the character name and where they're from is sufficient. *Pre-rendered images are preferred, Limit 2 renders max though a single render per request is preferred.*
2) Text - Should be self-explanatory as what you want the image to say. *Default is no text as I dislike adding text in general, you're free to make a request without text and add your own text as well.*
3) Size - My default size for a signature is 500x200 then for a finished product 450x150, it's the size I'm most comfortable working with and is mostly likely to yield the best results.*
4) Style - I am willing to ATTEMPT style mimics if you provide an example of a signature in the style you'd like. *Note that not all styles are compatible with all images and willingness to attempt a mimic does not guarantee success and lack of the resources they used will result in different appearances*
5) Color Preference - Black and White, Sepia Tone, Monochrome, Color Splash, or Full Color *I am willing to TRY to use specific colors, but that doesn't always work out depending on the render requested.*

**Disclaimer**
I am not responsible for violations of Serene's Signature rules nor will I do requests involving images that violate Serene's content rules. Maximum sig size is 550x300 with 300kb limit. All images combined cannot exceed 300px in height including all texts and images or 600kb total.

do you have examples of your work?

I do however I don't keep a portfolio online or anything and I created this topic from a computer that doesn't have any examples on it. (..and this post is from that same computer)

Render: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/4/41/Black_2_White_2_Roxie.pngIf that doesn't work try going to it from http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Roxie it's the image to the right of the page, just click it until brought to the file version of it or whatever.

Size: The default or forum max is all right, i've no preference.

I've nothing specific in mind, do what you feel works.

Awesome, thank you. You can remove it whenever you want now.

Cubeupload can be used without logging in, however unlike tinypic or something people can't use the image directly from there which makes them reupload them to an account they control meaning I don't have to use bandwidth from my accounts and don't have to worry about them losing their image to link re-appropriation ending up with an image they didn't intend to which tinypic has been known to do.

Guess I'll be your next one. I wanna see what you can do!

Render: http://images.khinsider.com/KINGDOM%20HEARTS%20III/Renders/Main%20Characters/Sora02.png

Dimension: 500x200

Text::

One sky,

One Destiny

Border: Yes

Style: Actually, would you be willing to do several versions for comparison's sake? Said styles being Vector, Rastor and C4D. If not, whichever works out best

A c4d banner would also be a raster banner. Since business is as slow as it is I don't mind to doing the two versions.

Ah, I see. In any case, I'm really looking forward to the outcome of this shop! As far as I can tell, its the only one I've ever been able to come across, which is what spurred me to do some on my own some time ago, with... iI'd say moderated success, at best, thanks to tutorials

I'd be wary of tutorials tbh, they tend to not really teach you skills and rather just give you means to copy a very specific style that they used in it, usually providing the resources to make photocopied results. Whenever possible I try to avoid using pre-made resources, but not having Cinema 4D myself when it comes to C4Ds I'm pretty stuck. Don't get me wrong resources are fine and dandy and they can easily turn out a good result, but it feels 'cheap', like making a collage sticking cut-outs together even if you manipulate them after the fact to blend them together rather than just pasting them on the canvas.

On that note when you're making something you should be wary of box effects which come from the edge of the canvas on the resources you use. I saw two such box effects on this one: http://i.imgur.com/rGoVVNr.pngThe most pronounced is the vertical one by the hand, but there is a horizontal one directly behind it as well. A soft brushed eraser will allow you to keep the the resources integrity and eliminate those harsh lines at the same time.

I'm... not sure I follow? At least in regards to this "box effect" you're talking about. If you mean the magic rings, then apparently there's always been this issue with Leo's render, but I just went with it anyways, and attempted to sharpen and/or blur them a little But of course, that just might be my inexperience talking, tho now that i look at the far right side, I can sort of see what you mean with a vertical one.

Otherwise, I'd have to agree on tutorials, but its not like i follow them to a T, with the same resources and exact steps that the person uses. I do recall learning how to use GIMPressionist and color mapping from one, but I do find that I don't actually use the former much. If you're willing, I'd be glad to learn a few things from you, when I'm around, You seem to know what you're talking about

I'll highlight later it's called a box effect because it occurs at the edge of a canvas (the box) where the effect suddenly ends resulting in a sudden straight edge that tends to appear in the middle of an image when the effect is used and care isn't taken to deal with it in some way. (either through smudging or soft erasing usually)

Whilst I don't mind helping there are a few hitches, I have a strong preference for Photoshop and thus when I don't have Gimp in-front of me I tend to explain things in the way you'd do them in Photoshop and not Gimp, force of habit and all that. The other hitch is while I'm familiar with the tools you'll never once see me refer to myself as an "artist" or what have you. (That's also why I don't keep a portfolio or anything of the sort) I lack the inspiration to really do anything original and that is why I tend to just do backgrounds, blends, and mimics, anything original I start I never can work up the motivation to finish. The last fully original thing I've done never got past a set of eyes and a pair of lips. I have a few sprites, but I do them off reference pics as well. I find you don't really need inspiration to do editing work most of the time so that's what I stick to. That said if you have a question about color schemes, tools, composition that sort of thing feel free to shoot me a pm.

Awhile back I was asked to simply blend an render to an image, basically I was given http://i634.photobucket.com/albums/uu69/dwlr/SerahMoonoriginal_zps91267b9e.png~original and turned it into http://i634.photobucket.com/albums/uu69/dwlr/SerahMoon_zps66d3d76a.png~original

The aforementioned cancelled original work http://i634.photobucket.com/albums/uu69/dwlr/Face_zpsjhqn97md.png~original

Ended up doing 3

Vector only (Vector sigs typically go with smaller canvas sizes, they tend to look barren on larger):

Vector + Wireframe:

C4d (Went with layered c4ds then liquefied them for an abstract hope you don't mind I didn't keep any of them intact)

Oh WOW! These are phenomenal, thanks! I now see what you mean about the vector style generally being more in tune with anime style renders. I just wanted to see an example, cause while I've certainly seen one before, I never knew what it was. I'd imagine they're done through the brush and path tools?

Nonetheless, I think I'll be going with the C4D one. Thanks again, I really appreciate this!

The pentool can be used to make the brushes then you can use the brushes whenever for convenience. Selection tool is used pretty often for circles and rectangles as well.

It's not made with c4ds, but I hope it fits the fire theme you were looking for without using actual fire stocks.

You mind if I request stuff?

Should I only request a few, or should I give you stuff that'll keep you busy...?

It really depends on what they are, but you should post your request so I can look it over and go from there. Full sized sigs can take awhile and sometimes I'm away from my main computer which I like to do most requests in photoshop rather than Gimp as I'm simply more comfortably with photoshop so I can get the requests done more quickly when I sit down to do them.

Most shops prefer if you post you just post your request without a lead up post so they can get to it when they have free time without an intermediary query. When I sat down to do Toren's request I could have gotten to some of your items as well for instance. I know personally if I have to take a hiatus I'd update the post and close temporarily and I'll always pm the requester if there is an issue with the request they've posted.

cubeupload was down when I uploaded so it's on tinypic instead: http://i67.tinypic.com/28gtl4g.png
