eclipse
Here's a couple of hints for Radd (since I adore him in drafts, but my team composition needed Caesar more): - Take the <600 gold bets in the arena, and GTFO if you encounter a knight. If done correctly, he should gain a level. It'll be a lot smoother if you can reclass a terrible class A unit into a staffbot, so you don't have to chug vulneraries every other turn. - Leave him as a Myrmidon on Chapter 9, then reclass him to Cavalier afterwards. His growths will turn him into a very impressive tank. Train him on 12x for giggles and D lances. Oh, and the AI will target squishy units - units with low Defenses first. Thus, if you need a mass extermination, go with Cleric/Curate (class A) or Hunter (class B). Edited February 6, 2016 by eclipse
eclipse
Since I don't want random strategy being mixed with my logs, have Chapter 12. Otherwise known as "if you weren't raising your team right, you will lose turns". Chapter 12 - 6/69 Promoted Frey, because I needed two promoted class A units for this to work. Fed him the Speedwings, because I needed 15 Speed to double both the Sniper and the boss (and no, I wasn't going to rely on two critblicks, that's way too dicey). This strategy needs two units with at least 9 MOV (dunno if a single 8 MOV unit would work, but there should be a buttload of class A units, who can go Cavalier), Jagen, and a promoted class A unit, and two Door Keys. Gave the Door Keys to the 9 MOV units, and had the first one (Vyland) open the first treasure room door. Meanwhile, the second one (Navarre) ran his full movement, with Frey hot on his heels. Jagen also full-moved every turn. On turn 3, Navarre opened the other door, Frey murdered the Sniper, and Jagen ran right up to the staffbot and smacked him with a Silver Lance. This put Jagen in range of the boss and a mage, but thanks to his previous HP levels, he survived EP with 2 HP. Frey took out the boss on the next turn, Jagen flew around the pillar and OHKO'd one of the mages, Vyland miraculously took out the other, and Navarre dealt some serious damage to the second staffbot. Meanwhile, Marth had grabbed one of the treasures, and Julian was busy emptying Archanea's coffers for my own good, while Roshea/Draug/Caesar played with the thieves. On turn 5, Athena finished the staffbot, Frey OHKO'd Heimler, Jagen made a beeline to the boots, Julian continued looting, and everyone else braced for impact. One of the cavaliers peeled off towards Jagen, but since he had 12 DEF to the enemy's 13 ATK, he survived with 1 HP. The other cavalier took some serious damage from Navarre. On the final turn, Frey sniped one of the Cavaliers, Navarre took out the other one, Jagen got the boots, and I seized. Had to redo this once because my generic refused to die, which meant that I would've missed 12x. Managed to save three prisoners. . .somehow. . . eclipse
Chapter 12x - 20 Reclassed Jagen to Bishop and Navarre to Myrmidon Had to do a lot of things here: - Kill Horace - Get both Draug and Caesar as many levels as possible - Roshea/Vyland were next in priority - Get Jagen/Boah's staff rank as high as possible - Marth to at least level 12, and Julian up one level - Navarre gains at least one level - Improve Midia I did. . .uh, most of these. Athena's claim to fame was missing every single Javelin throw against the boss (since it was literally a 50% hit rate, over something like five turns). In contrast, Caesar's 58% Iron Axe shots hit about 50% of the time. . .and then he actually killed the boss on turn 20 with a 38% Hand Axe shot. By the time all was said and done, I killed everything. Navarre and Frey stormed the throne room, with Frey critkilling Jiol because screw canon (critkill didn't matter because Navarre could double with the Armorslayer, and Frey did enough damage that Navarre only needed to land one 56% hit). They deserved it! Reclassed Midia to Flying Errand Girl. The hardest part about this chapter was the first turn. Athena opened the door, Frey ran to the right of the fort, Jagen waited a space north of Frey, Navarre waited just within range of the Poleaxe guy, Draug approached from the north, with Caesar somewhere in the ocean, and everyone else ran forward. On the enemy's phase, Athena had to connect both Javelin hits, Frey had to land both Steel Sword hits, Navarre had to Not Die, Draug had to Not Die, and the Iron Lance flying POS had to attack Draug. That way, I could use a Javelin + Marth Iron Sword to kill the Silver Sword guy, Frey could run into the building and smack the Levin Sword guy, Jagen could hang around with a Door Key, the guys in back could clean up the Poleaxe thingy, and the Iron Lance flying POS would be too far north to hit Marth. Oh, and Draug had to kill the Fortify guy, to make the map doable. Once those hurdles were gone (and Draug didn't get crit by the Killer Bow dude), I was able to run through the rest of the map with far less problems. Vyland went MVP and landed a critical Ridersbane shot to keep the run going. Boss died to Draug and a hammer. As for Midia? She went shopping. RIP Tomas for drawing the Iron Lance flying POS far to the north, which gave Draug and Caesar enough breathing room to kill off the enemies. eclipse
Matthis would've been chosen if I didn't have Navarre (as they kinda have the same problem). In the middle of Chapter 22, don't feel like redoing it just for stats, so I'll dump what I have. Chapter 17x - 20 Reclassed Jagen to Bishop, Navarre to Myrmidon, Draug to General, Athena to Paladin, Caesar to Mercenary, and Midia to Paladin. I used Julian to get the Poleaxe while Marth picked up the Longbow before heading to the throne room. Frey and Midia went with Julian, Navarre, Boah, Vyland, and Draug waited for the reinforcements, and everyone else sopped up experience. I force-fed Caesar and Roshea - out of everyone, those two absolutely needed to promote. Etzel died to Roshea + Caesar, and the boss died to multiple shots of Marth's Rapier. Chapter 18 - 6/98 Reclassed Jagen, Athena, and Midia to Dracoknight, Navarre to Cavalier, and Draug to Berserker. Promoted Caesar (level 15) and Roshea (level 13). Vyland and Navarre were able to wreak quite a bit of havoc despite being unpromoted. Frey raced ahead to blick the boss, and Draug crossed the river to kill a couple of arrow guys and net ~2000 in the arena. Used a generic for shopping. Had my Dracoknight squad wait around for Est, and killed her. Chapter 19 - 5/103 Reclassed Athena to Paladin. With 19 Speed, Frey had just enough to double the Heroes. Thanks to Roshea's improved movement, he was able to provide support from three spaces away, which is why I was able to clear this with relative ease. Jagen used a Master Key to grab the bullion and speedwings (Midia opened the latter door), Vyland armed himself with a Javelin and opened the sniper door (and then whiffed twice in a row at 72%. . .but he hit eventually), and Navarre promoted midway through the chapter, when he hit level 19. Julian grabbed the Geosphere and robe, and I was able to get the other two spheres. Boss died to Frey and a Dragonpike. Chapter 20 - 5/108 Reclassed all Paladins not named Frey to Dracoknight (including Vyland, who promoted with the Master Seal looted from the Sniper's body in the previous chapter). Frey took care of the enemies by the bridge, while mostly everyone else flew/walked over the river. Navarre stuck around near Frey, because there was a save point down south, and I wasn't sure if I moved Marth correctly. I flew Athena into Camus' range, and she somehow survived, but didn't double. Due to how everything panned out, the only one that could chip Camus and live was Vyland. That left Camus to die from sheer embarrassment as Jagen finished him off. I kinda wanted to recruit Lorenz so I wouldn't need to buy more Silver Lances, but she was needed as bait, to keep my guys from dying. . .so RIP. Lorenz bit the dust when Athena and Vyland ganged up on him. Frey picked up the Devil Sword on the final turn, and Julian got me some spending money in the arena. Marth. . .uh, really didn't do much. Chapter 20x - 20 Reclassed Jagen to Bishop, all Dracoknights not named Athena or Navarre to Paladin, Navarre to Swordmaster, and Boah to Sage. Everyone needed to gain at least one level, which they did. Picked up the treasure near Ymir and the boss before Navarre armed himself with an Iron Sword and did a grand total of one damage, twice, per EP, while taking enough damage that both Jagen and Boah needed to heal him. Once turn 20 hit, Frey finished the boss. Killed off the entire map, too. Chapter 21 - 3/111 Reclassed Jagen to Dracoknight, Navarre to Paladin, and Midia to Dracoknight. Frey + Lightsphere + Starsphere + Gradivus = GG. Chapter 22 - 7/118 Reclassed Navarre to Dracoknight. Everyone sort-of congregated south of the village, until a whole bunch of enemies ran headlong into Frey. The carnage was. . .impressive, to say the least. Frey went into the castle and ORKO'd Michalis because 17 Strength and Gradivus do that. Frey murdered everything up top with a Javelin, while Athena, Cesar, and Midia took care of the bottom. Julian went treasure-hunting. Navarre and Vyland managed to sneak in some last-minute kills. No stats, my head's starting to hurt again. Chapter 24 - 4/129 Reclassed all horses not named Frey into flying things. Straight over the mountains! Vyland merrily chipped the boss away with Gradivus, while Athena baited the Snipers with Iote's Shield. Frey took the long way around, netting a couple of levels in the process. Boah used Fortify as necessary. Emptied out the secret shop - I NEED those Arms Scrolls! As for the stat thing I mentioned back in Chapter 12. . .Marth needs at least 15 Speed, or things get hellish in a hurry. Stats after 24x, head still hurts. Chapter 24x - 19 Reclassed Navarre, Vyland, and Midia to Paladin. I needed certain stat benchmarks to be hit: - Navarre gains Speed - Frey gains Strength - Draug gains Speed - Jagen hits A staves as a Sage Other than Draug, everyone else did what I needed. Success? eclipse
Final - 4/133 Remember that wonky-ass Boah pick in the draft? I drafted him specifically for this chapter. Reclassed Draug to Horseman, and fed him three Arms Scrolls (bows). Navarre eats the final Arms Scroll (swords). Frey gets one Seraph Robe, Draug gets two, Jagen gets one, Boah gets one. Jagen and Boah each get two Spirit Dusts. Navarre gets one Enery Drop, Athena gets two, and Caesar gets two. Draug used four Dracoshields. Placing assignments: Caesar/Roshea/Midia upper-left, Vyland/Boah/Jagen upper-right, Frey/Athena/Navarre alcove, Marth/Julian/Draug in the middle. Turn 1: Julian opens the door, Marth fishes out the Geosphere and uses it, Boah sponges the damage via Fortify, Nagi trades the Geosphere and uses it, Jagen sponges off most of the damage, everyone else cleans up. Since everything is super-de-duper weak, and the staff guys are dead, I encounter no resistance to the throne. Medeus goes down to a combination of Draug, Navarre, and Frey (with Frey getting an unnecessary crit at the end because screw canon). But clipsey. . .what happens if you don't cheese the level? GOOD QUESTION. So here's the version where the Geosphere sits in my inventory. Prep: Navarre downs four Energy Drops, three Speedwings, and two Arms Scroll (swords and lances). Draug reclassed to Hero. Frey gets a Seraph Robe. Vyland gets an Energy Drop. Boah gets four Spirit Dusts. Placing assignments: Draug/Roshea/Midia/Jagen upper-left, Caesar/Boah upper-right, Athena/Vyland/Navarre alcove, Marth/Julian/Frey in the middle. Turn 1: Jagen uses Barrier on Draug, Draug arms a Silver Axe and waits out in that room, with Roshea right behind him. Caesar arms a Hammer and pokes his head into the door. Athena and Vyland take out the ballista, Frey goes to the right and makes the Paladin regret everything, and Marth/Nagi wait. Turn 2: Draug uses a Hand Axe to finish of the dragon-thingy, Roshea and Midia team up to get rid of the ballista, Caesar finishes off the Dracoknight, Marth runs up and finishes off the General that had attacked Vyland, Navarre moves forward for all he's worth, Athena tries to snipe the Fortify guy (and misses), Nagi finishes off a dragon that Frey had attracted, two Fortifies go off, and Julian hits the save point. Turn 3: Frey and Navarre reach the door, with Frey up front. Roshea (at 1 HP) runs into a corner and uses a Vulnerary. Midia runs next to him. Draug finishes off the Paladin. Marth kills a stray Dracoknight. Athena kills a General in Navarre's way. Caesar kills the Swarm dude, and two Fortifies go off again. Turn 4: Frey uses Gradivus on Medeus (15 damage, twice), then Navarre jacks the Lightsphere and finishes with Mercurius (21 damage, twice). Unit Analysis Marth - Hooray, Skill blessing! He needs to be level 17, on average, to deal with Chapter 24, or bad things happen. This one was strong enough to get me through what I needed. Frey - MVP, of course. Didn't like how IS envisioned him, so he took it out on everything in red. Except Navarre. Jagen - Started out as a physical unit, and ended as a magical one, and damn useful at that. Class A sets OP. Draug - Fast. Frail. Hits like a truck. That's Draug. . .and luckily, he got a point of Speed during Endgame, so he was able to double Medeus naturally as a Horseman. Julian - That's a whopping -3 Speed off of average. Still, managed to kill things when I needed him to. Navarre - I was worried that his Speed wouldn't keep up. He happily proved me wrong. Vyland - While Navarre was bulky and strong, Vyland was supposed to be the faster one. . .which he was. . .by a ton. . .like, I don't even KNOW what happened to his Speed, and that's not counting his Luck, which is beyond his 20/20 averages! Biggest surprise of this draft, and I don't regret picking him! It's definitely the hair. Roshea - Was going to be a staffbot, then I changed my mind. While the Javelin crew was busy missing, Roshea picked up after them. Athena - The second surprise of this draft, but not quite as huge of a shocker as Vyland. Did pretty well with her levels, which turned her into a flying terror. Caesar - Pirate into Hero means that he can wield a good chunk of the effective weaponry. He did slightly better than expected, but I have high standards for him. Boah - Staffbot. Recruited to be one, and he was. Being able to wield B-rank tomes was icing on the cake. Midia - Surprise the third. She was nowhere near as terrifying as Athena, but she was able to hold her own. The two weird Resistance levels wound up saving her, as the Endgame Levin Sword dude couldn't damage her. Nagi - She, uh, killed something. Yeah, let's go with that. Whoever the hell else I was supposed to draft - Sorry, you weren't needed. Overall, this was one of the strongest teams I've drafted. Give some of the lower-tier guys a shot, because they shine in this format!

Gradivus.
C8 5/41 turns Hardin and Cain got things done, Cain used armorslayer, marth seized C9 5/46 turns Rushed, killed the boss with Steel Sword!Cain pretty easily. C10 8/54 turns Went ahead, Cain killed the boss with an armorslayer hit after Marth double rapier'd him on turn 7, Hardin got the master seal. C11 9/63 turns Cain promoted, went DK, killed everything above the start while Hardin, Jagen and Cav!Gordin casually killed the mercs. Got Jake. C12 6/69 turns Cain rushed and got the boots, he ORKOes everything with javelin. C13 3/72 turns Used Cain and Hardin, skipped EPs, recruited Astram to kill him off as ballista fodder. C14 6/78 turns Used Cain and Hardin, skipped EPs. C15 5/83 turns Used Cain and Hardin, skipped EPs. C16 6/89 turns Used Cain and Hardin, skipped EPs. C17 3/92 turns Used Cain and Hardin, skipped EPs. C18 6/98 turns Cain and Hardin rushed as Paladins, skipped EPs and Marth followed. C19 5/103 turns Cain and Hardin killed things. C22 7/118 turns Gradivus - oneshotting Wyvern Lords. C23 7/125 turns Skip the EP - Gradivus. C24 4/129 turns Fly into the mess - Gradivus. Entered the secret shop. C24x free Feel the need to be like Pent? Gradivus solves your problems. Final 4/133 turns Falchion is overrated - Rely on Cain, use Gradivus. Cain killed Medeus with a PCC crit on second attack, using his 100-kill Gradivus... oh wait. (he doubled anyway, so he could've done it on PP+EP had he not crit) Epilogue - Cain has 201 kills (lol) - Took slightly below 2 hours for the stuff in this post - Only had to field 3 units from midgame on - Cain's stats after Final: 60 HP / 25 Str / 1 Mag / 26 Skl / 25 Spd / 16 Lck / 26 Def / 6 Res / C Swd A Lnc - The rest doesn't matter. eclipse
Yes, but would he have survived two Medeus attacks? The moral of the story is that Starsphere/Lightsphere is OP. Though I guess Gradivus gets honorable mention for being able to fully heal the wielder.
Gradivus.
I gave him all the secret shop dracoshields, he took almost no damage from mooks and 17/60 from Medeus! I actually think vulnerary healing is always enough on normal, Gradivus is handy against enemies that a normal javelin can't kill in time, which there aren't many of when you're close to the str cap, but when you aren't it's quite noticeable.
