Nintenlord
Fire Emblem: Blazing Dawn. My game. I don't know how to put in the animation though. I'm sure there's a tutorial for it somewhere though. Well, you can always just copy the original knight animation and edit it to become sword armour. That's how I did it.

Nintenlord
This thing isn't patching right. Considering no patch has been released, no wonder. Edited May 21, 2008 by Nintenlord

Arch
I'm sorry, I've been neglecting Serenes Forest Forums when it comes to information and answering questions so again, I'm sorry. So now comes the big task, to post everything you guys have missed out on! The latest news would be that Chapter 1 is nearly completed! Here are some screenshots of Chapter 1: The Search for Edain! Eltosian and his Cavalier butt buddy guard. Kinbois and his crew are ready to take Evans back! The following screens contain spoilers for those who haven't played FE4 before, view at your own risk! Prince Jamuka escorting Edain and Dew from Marpha castle. Gandolf is wasting no time in pursuing pursuing the escaping Edain and her buddy Dew. Also, Nintenlord has begun replacing the tilesets to resemble FE4's (like Celice suggested early on in this thread) (continued onto next post due to amount of images)
Arch
Heres the post I made on FE Planet announcing the project. Fire Emblem 4 Advance, a project I'm sure at least a few of you have heard of from FEU, FESS or SF.It is quite possibly the most ambitious Fire Emblem hack to date, the goal of the project is to recreate Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. But this isn't just a simple remake, we're also adding new content to enhance the experience such as - New and revised skills such as Duel (which now makes units fight to the death) and Fortify (which makes it impossible for the enemy to score a critical hit). - New playable characters such as Darren (the previously unnamed archer) and cameos from FE5 like Fergus and Cyas. As well as changes to existing characters (Jamuka has been changed quite a bit) - An expanded story including new chapters enhancing the tales of Sigurd and Celice. - Items from the GBA games as well as new ones like the Regal Sword (Sigurd's PRF) and the bow Silencer (not the same as the one in FE10) Now there are some things from the original FE4 that we just cannot recreate - The ability to enter the home castle is replaced by unit preperations. - The giant maps have to be shrunk or split into multiple chapters. - The repair shop is another thing we cannot implement, however it will be replaced by something similar. And what would a topic about a hack like this be without some screenshots of the game in action? This project is going along smoothly, the hacking is no problem at all for our team of experts. But theres one thing holding this project back... graphics. We need a lot of graphics to complete this project so check the graphics topic and help out! Frequently Asked Questions Q: You said there would be skills, what about characters that had the Pursuit and Critical skills in the original? A: Those skills will still be present their effects have been changed though. Pursuit gives the unit +3 Attack Speed (AS) and Critical gives the unit +15 Critical Hit %. Q: How will the lover's system work? A: It is essentially the support system of the GBA Fire Emblems. Units will be able to support with various units, should they reach an A support with a unit of the opposite gender they will have a lover's bond. This will affect the children's stats, growths and starting inventory. Q: In the original FE4 fathers/mothers passed down all their weapons to their sons/daughters, will the same thing happen in the remake? A: Unfortunately no, we cannot make the child's inventory based on the parent's inventory exactly. However the father/mother will influence the starting inventory of the child. (For example, Levin's son will always start with Holesty) Feel free to ask any question no matter how stupid. Also, if you have any suggestions feel free to post them as well. And now to answer the questions posted here I didn't answer before. What about the Valkyrie staff? We're hoping to replicate it's original effect, if not it'll have some other use. And are the 2nd gen (when you do make it) canonical? The lover's system is being implemented, meaning second gen will not be canonical but based off the pairings from the first generation like in the original. how will you use the rings? (pursuit, warp, and the stat+5 items) The stat boosters will work like they do in every game but FE4 (you use them once) and as for the skill rings... I'm not entirely sure... and what about the holy blood? The holy blood system will be implemented and children will inherit blood from their parents as they do in FE4. Are you planning on releasing a beta any time soon? I believe I answered that question before, yes we're planning on having a demo out soon. (sometime during the summer) If a moderator would be so kind, could the topic title be changed to Fire Emblem IV Advance? (the project's official name) Edited May 29, 2008 by Arch

Arch
Alright, some new info and pictures, been through this before. A fight against the un-paletted Kibois The shop is accessable from the main castle gate All conversations from the original FE4 return And some new ones like this Alec x Arden one are thrown in Proof that the Ayra recruitment works, Genoa is siezed and you can talk to her only after it is siezed And this one is the big announcement! A new character, a merchant! He will be able to store your excess items for you and best of all, the enemies completely ignore his existance! No more fears of your merchant being mauled by enemies! Also, remember when I said we'd be replacing the repair shop with something similar? Well it certainly wasn't purchasable Hammerne staffs! It was this guy, when you give him a weapon you have the option to repair it for a fee, how convenient! Made even more convenient by the fact that he's mobile. Well at least that's what we're going for! Only time will tell if it's possible.

Arch
@Raven: Well, event percentage wise I'm 10% done, overall percentage wise we're like... 3%, there's so much more than events, the ASM stuff will take a lot of time. @VASM: We're trying to allow enemies to just walk through him so he has no usefulness as a wall, and I'm pretty sure we all know how Merlinus visiting a village turns out (why can't he access his OWN supply?) Thank you for the nice reception all, once we have all the prologue graphics done (mugs inserted and the like) then we'll be releasing videos and a demo. Shadrach
This is looking really interesting. You're awesome for starting this project. Out of curiosity, what class will you make Lachesis?
Arch
Lachesis will be the same as she's always been, a Princess that can use swords and staves.
Celice
I think the question is more oriented towards the Master Knight classes, however :x
Camus The Dark Knight
Did they get past the GBA magic and weapons being separate thing yet? (Forgive me, I haven't kept up), is so, that would make the Master Knight class much easier to make.
Shadrach
Lachesis will be the same as she's always been, a Princess that can use swords and staves. I'm sorry, I worded my question wrong. I meant to ask how you were going to do the battle animation for her. And then I was also wondering how the master knight was going to work out. Arch
She's going to have Eirika's battle animation and a staff animation that looks like Eirika's. And yes, we have gotten past the Str/Mag thing, we've split the stats like they were in FE4. However there is one drawback, Luck no longer has a growth rate so a character's luck will be set from level 1 and can only go up by using a Lucky Ring. Honestly, I've never really gotten the logic behind getting luckier as you get stronger so this was the first solution that came to mind. Arch
Long time no news.... Sorry, I've been kinda neglecting SF when it comes to this project but now I'm going to fill you in on all you guys've missed! Pictures of Chapter 2 The long awaited Verdane castle. And the not so long awaited Marpha castle/prison/whatever it is. And then there's this awesome fight sequence. Other Information A demo will be released very soon, I promise you that. The demo will cover the entire Prologue (Birth of a Royal Knight) and at the end it will have some information about the project revealed as a reward to all who complete it. A website has been created for FE4 Advance, check it out! The Axe Armor animation is currently being inserted for the demo. (Previously we thought we wouldn't have enough time to get it done seeing as this is the biggest insertion job due to how jumbled the Cavalier animation is) There is also a video showcasing our first custom animation, the Sword Armor so

Allan's Aokage
Very nice stuff, especially the Sword Knight animation. Even if I can't see half the stuff in the first post, I support this with all I am able - which isn't very much as I don't have the talent to do so. Zanryu
So right now I'm guessing all you really need is to finish the Axe Knight animation and get the rest of the mugs for the prologue done?
Arch
That's right, we have all the mugs now so it's only a matter of getting them inserted. The Axe Knight animation is close to completion as it is so I'm not too worried about that at the moment. I'm expecting the demo sometime this week.
