I took a more surrealist approach to the piece. See how Reva, represented here by a single red dot among a discordant, seething abyss, has no defining characteristics beyond its existence-- this represents our meaninglessness as a species, in the overall grand scheme of things, but is also an allegory for hunger among the impoverished, and the growing trend of neotribalism among societal lines. But don't be misled by these themes-- the darkness of this abyss doesn't represent any of that, but rather the fact that you can't get reasonable portion sizes here in America.
