This comic made me realize how much Maid actually makes sense for her. She's at least as devoted to Elise as pretty much everyone Jakob is to Avatar. Yeah at first it's like, wtf Kag why do you have diviner you have 0 mag and then I realised the Orochi connection (Basara can still get her rend heaven anyway, not totally useless). Kagero dislikes it when it's quiet because she can hear her own heart beating (don't know why that would be a problem though), but Ryoma's armour makes loads of noise so it ends up not being a problem.
