So I thought back to this old create a class thread for Awakening, and figured one for Fates would be cool(there was one a while ago but it's long dead and more people have played the game now).

I'll start with a revamp of my old Awakening one:

Juggler fefates-icon-kunai.pngfefates-icon-sword.png

Skilled performers with an unorthodox fighting style. Talented with daggers and swords.

Solo class(lv.40). Has the 'Juggle' command, which does three attacks in a row at 1/3 damage and -10 hit, can't perform follow up attacks, enemy’s follow up attack speed +5, cannot trigger critical hits or special skills.

Skills:

Level 1: Spectacle: Enemies within a 2 tile radius have avoid -10, and so does the user

Level 10: Professional: Allows up to three different weapons to be used for Juggle, removes the boost to enemy attack speed

Level 25: Concentration: Enemy-induced stat debuffs -1, doesn't go past 1(bronze dagger would give -1 def/res, but still -1 skill/spd)

Level 35: Expert: Increases the damage of Juggle to 1/2, allows critical hits and special skills

I will throw a few other class Ideas I have had in here to lower the amount of room it will take.

Much like the Wolfskin, Manakate and all that, this next class would be limited to a group of enemies and maybe 1 or 2 playable characters.

Vampire

A being hailing from the cursed Shadowborn Manor North of Nohr. It has inhuman abilities and strikes fear into the hearts of anyone it opposes.

Minimum Stats:

HP: 20 Str: 7 Mag: 4 Skl: 5 Spd: 6 Def: 6 Lck: 2 Res: 3 Natural Weapon: E

Growth Rates (I have a very basic understanding of how this works, and had to look it up while doing this)

HP: 15 Str: 15 Mag: 5 Skl: 10 Spd: 15 Def: 10 Lck: 0 Res: 10

Max Stats

HP: 45 Str: 27 Mag: 21 Skl: 22 Spd: 25 Def: 23 Lck: 15 Res: 18

Skills:

Level 5: Intimidate- After defeating an enemy, other enemy units within 2 tiles are shaken and receive -5 speed and -1 movement.

Level 15: Life-Drain: Takes half of damage done back as hitpoints. Healing from staves are only half as effective.

Is an unmounted unit that wears clothing similar to that of the Butler, but Black and white colors. Its attack animations consist of various punches and kicks.

Promoted class

Sanguine Knight

A Vampire that has reached its max effectiveness in combat. It now wields magic, and has inhuman speed and strength.

Max Stats:

HP: 70 Str: 38 Mag: 28 Skl: 30 Spd: 40 Def: 32 Lck: 35 Res: 26 Natural Weapon: S Tomes: B

Skills

level 5: Celerity- Works like Adept in Radiant Dawn/Path of Radiance. Activate Chance Lckx2, when activated grants an extra attack regardless of speed.

Level 15: Strength of Night- Adds 50% of damage onto the attack, leaves target drained of 6 points of strength, 6 points of speed until next round.

Much like Dragon Fang, Strength of Night comes with unique animations. The character will do two quick swipes with its claws, kick the opponent back. The screen will then have a screen effect similar to Lethality where the screen goes black and light blue, showing a silhouette of both characters. The character will then lunge forward with their hand going through the back of the opponent and looking as if it is holding something.

The design for the class would look like this

Cleric (Staves) -> Trickster (Swords,Staves) / War Monk (Axes,Staves)

Outside of Corrin-locked Hoshidan Noble, there are no Sword/Staff classes and they completely boycotted Axe/Staff. I'm not good at designing beyond that, but I feel like I'd be more likely to create a trickster in this game than I was in Awakening. (Maybe it's just because my Adventurer Nina is nuts with the Shining Bow)

I missed the Hawk / Raven Laguz from the Tellius games, so. . .

I'm creating an entire class line. Not just the original class.

Wizard / Kisai - Able to conjure spells seemingly with only thought, but utilizes the very Dragon Veins to cast his magic.

Yes, I'm creating a class that is basically a non-Royal who can tap into the Dragon Veins. But only to cast magics. For the Hoshidians, this is a being who is able to use Kotodama easily and would reflect that in their flavour text.

Class Weapons - Daggers, Tomes / Shurkiens, Tomes

This is probably the only combination I haven't seen yet, which is Daggers and Tomes.

[skills]

Innate Magic (Lv. 1): Able to use Vein Arrow without a Tome. This is an E spell.

Learned Magic (Lv. 10): Store Tome lore for use. Req. Innate Magic.

HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res Mov

Base Stats:

10 1 6 6 1 6 1 3 5

Max Stats:

21 10 29 27 17 26 11 19

Growth Rates:

5 5 30 20 10 20 5 10

Pair-Up Stats:

- - 3 1 - 1 - - -

Upgraded Classes - 1st Sage / Sennin

Yuppers folks. We're adding the sage class back in! This class adds back in staffs to the mix.

[skills]

Innate Healing (Lv. 5): Able to use heal Rejuvenate, an E healing spell.

Healing Lore (Lv. 15): Able to store Staff lore for use. Req. Innate Healing.

HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res Mov

Base Stats:

13 6 6 6 6 4 4 4 6

Max Stats:

41 26 28 31 33 29 21 26

Growth Rates:

5 10 10 15 15 5 5 5

Pair-Up Stats:

- 1 4 2 2 - - - 1

Upgraded Classes - 1st Wilder / Maou

No new skill added here, but the first skill is a bloody good one.

[skills]

Gifted Ability (Lv. 5): Increase the maximum weapon scores by 1. (I needed better flavour text for this)

Gifted Innate (Lv. 15): Increases the Innate abilities to C.

HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res Mov

Base Stats:

15 2 14 11 12 3 4 4 6

Max Stats:

41 22 38 37 36 19 21 21

Growth Rates:

0 0 20 15 15 0 5 5

Pair-Up Stats:

- - 4 3 3 - - - 1

These classes would open up a new type of class possibility, in which they grant innate abilities. It would be the first in a line of a few. Also, yes, the "storing" does require lore. Gifted Innate doesn't have a requirement because as I said, it would be the first in a few, and this could boost those abilities to C. Making them semi good.

Not sure if the stats and growths are right, but I think these work.

Here is a thief class I made. It basically is supposed to steal Outlaw's role as the Nohrian lockpicker and the Ninja's role as S rank Shuriken/Dagger user to balance out the Nohr:Hoshido S rank weapon ratio

Thief-Bfefates-icon-kunai.png

Skill-Lv. 1)Lockpick (Explanatory)

Lv. 10)Steal (Use the 'Steal' command to steal an enemies' item)

Promotes to:

Rogue or Whisper

Notes: Your typical FE thief. Fast and can take magic like a pro but very frail and weak. Steal can be useful if you need say extra elixirs which aren't infinitely buyable. Since they take the roll of Outlaws now, Outlaws now have Mov +1 as their Lv. 1 skill and Lucky Seven as their Lv 10 skill. Rally Luck is Adventurers Lv. 5 skill and Monks/Shrine Maidens get Healtouch as their Lv. 10 skill.

Rogue-Sfefates-icon-kunai.png

Skill-Lv. 5)Bane (Reduces enemy HP to 1 and ends battle. Can only activate on enemy phase)

Lv. 15)Acrobat (Same as in FEA)

Notes: Takes the Master Ninja's role of S rank Shuriken user. Your typical Rogue, fast but frail. Bane is very useful since it can help counteract the frailness of the Rogue. Acrobat is just there though for an extra skill.

Whisper-Afefates-icon-kunai.pngBfefates-icon-tome.png

Skill-Lv. 5)Demoralize (Use the Rally command to decrease all stats of all enemies in range (Being 2) by 2

Lv. 15)Decoy (Same as Summon from FE 8)

Notes: A kind of good mixed attacker. Demoralized is good IMO and it can work with other Rallies that buff your allies, so you can buff and nerf at once. Decoy is not exactly like Replicate. You basically summon Replicas of yourself with 1HP but the exact same stats as you but they cannot double and only have Iron Daggers.

Because I want a custom promo for Rev even though we didn't get one.

True/Invisible/Valla Noble-Afefates-icon-sword.pngAfefates-icon-stone.png

Skill-Lv. 5)Dragon Burst (Buffs allies Def and Res by 2 within 2 range but decreases enemy Str and Mag by 2 after battle)

Lv. 15)True Dragon (Choose 'Dragon' command to transform into the 'True Dragon' for the remainder of battle)

Notes: Dragon Burst is a bit OP but I just like it. True Dragon is basically Feral Dragon but stronger. They get WR bonus from whatever rank your Dragon Stone is at. I believe True Dragon makes up for the lack of a new weapon type.

While I dont know much about the technical side, here's my idea on a ranged class set.

Forester

-Promotes to Adventurer or Musketeer

-A member of the Forest tribe. They use the power of nature to heal and attack.

-Weilds Bows, Staves

-Has high Skill and Speed

-Skills:

--Ranger (Level 1): Speed +5 when on verdant terrain.

--Woodsman (Level 10): Hit/Avo +10 when on verdant terrain.

Musketeer

-Promotes from Forester

-An elite warrior from the Forest tribe. Imbued with nature, they defend the tribe with amazing skill.

-Weilds Swords (M), Tomes (F), Bows, Staves

-Can use Rapiers

-Has excellent Skill and high Defense (M), Resistance (F), Speed

-Skills:

--Marksman (Level 5): Grants Range +1 to ranged weapons.

--Fleur-de-lis (Level 15): When healing an ally, you and the ally become more defensive*.

*Def/Res +5, lessens by 1 each turn.

Notes:

-Males are Strength based

-Females are Magic based

It seems a bit OP but it's a special class used by two OC characters (siblings, but one is a mage).

Captains have unique access to the Flintlock weapon; it does not have any proficiency ranks, and is a 2-range physical weapon similar to Bows. Might is higher, but Hit is lower, making them unreliable but powerful.

Skills - Lv. 5) Commanding Presence (Allies within 2 spaces have +10% to skill activation rate)
Lv. 15) Sharpshooter (Enemy's Avoid -10 and Dodge -10 when unit is using a Flintlock)

I have a bias for Bows and Tomes....

Drifter

Mysterious fighters that have no place they call home. Wield bows with high accuracy.

Promotes to Adventurer or Freelancer

Max Weapon Rank : Bows - B

Skills

Resourceful (Level 1) - Gain Hit/Aviod +20 when attacking an enemy on plain terrain while skill holder is on a tile with terrain bonuses

Trickster (Level 5) - Enemy suffers Hit/Avoid -15 if enemy initiates combat and skill holder is able to successfully counterattack

Freelancer

An adept ranged specialist that wields tomes along with bows. High skill and speed.

Max Weapon Rank: Bows - S Tomes - B

Skills

Weapon Optimization (Level 5) - Upon selecting, the equipped weapon's range increases by 1 at the cost of -30 Hit, -3 damage dealt, and the inability to double attack

Ranged Superiority (Level 15) - Gains +5 damage dealt against units that wield 1-range weapons

Also the lack of a special class for Revelations bothers me beyond all logical reasoning:

True Blood/True Noble (I don't want to use Valla in the name.... it seems wrong)

Royals who align themselves with the path of truth. Along with swords and dragonstones, they wield shurikens to weaken foes.

Max Weapon Rank: Swords - A Dragonstones - A Shurikens - B

Skills

Hidden Strength (Level 5) - Gains +5 to Boon stat and +3 for related stats (the other stats that gain bonuses when choosing the boon) when HP below half (if HP is chosen as boon, effects are based on the STR stat)

United as One (Level 15) - Any buffs units within a 2-tile radius receives will also be received by the skill holder

No stats because I'm horrible at that stuff. Names suck too.

I love these topics. I'll condense my classes into spoiler tags to save space. Hopefully these hypothetical classes are balanced...

* * * * *

[spoiler=Levin Knight]Class: Levin Knight (Nohrian, Solo Class)

Weapons: Sword "A"

Promotion Item: Thunder Emblem

"A knight disciplined in ways of might, magic, and lightning. They have a fondness for wielding Levin Swords."

Pair Up Stats

HP STR MAG SKL SPD LCK DEF RES MOV

0 +2 +2 +2 0 0 +1 +1 0

Skills

- Level 1: Might and Magic (When calculating damage, use either STR or MAG to opponent's DEF or RES, whatever will result in higher total damage.*)

- Level 10: Storm Call (Command, Attacks an opponent at 2-3 range. Can not follow up, trigger skills, or crit. Enemy cannot counter attack.**)

- Level 25: Chain Lightning (When user triggers the battle, damage dealt is chained to an adjacent enemy of the target at half damage. Chains 3 times, cannot kill.***)

- Level 35: Levin Master (Allows for criticals and skill activation when wielding a Levin Sword.)

* This also applies to innate magic weapons, such as the Levin Sword. Might and Magic overrides the weapon, so Levin Swords can deal physical damage based off STR if the conditions are right.

** This skill is triggered via a command, so it can not be used during the Enemy Phase. In addition, the damage type depends on the weapon and if Might and Magic is in effect.)

*** The skill can not chain on itself, so there must be 4 total targets (Main target, chain one, chain two, and chain three). Chain Lightning works with Storm Call.

Author's Notes:

I am a fan of armored magic-wielding knights, so I decided to make an incarnation for Fates with the Levin Knight, more focused on the lightning element and the Levin Sword. The unit will wield both sword and shield as well as be clad in full plate.

[spoiler=Champion]Class: Champion (Valla, Solo Class)

Weapons: Sword "S", Axe "S", Lance "S", Tome "S", Dagger "S", Bow "S", Staff "S"

Promotion Item: Valla Seal

"Mimicking ancient warriors from Valla, these Champions can master any weapon or situation."

Skills

- Level 10: Ancient Stance (Always blocks incoming attacks from enemy Attack stance, even when not in Guard Stance.**)

- Level 25: Nihil (Negates enemy’s combat-related skills.**)

- Level 35: Gloria (Gain +1 to all stats per enemy defeated. This effect wears off at 1 per turn. There is no cap.)

* This skill can kill the Champion. Incoming damage is calculated for the lead unit, no separate calculation is made for the Champion stepping in.

** Only works when the Champion is the lead unit.

Author's Notes:

I always wanted a Fire Emblem class that can use every single weapon in the game, so I decided to make one! Yes, the Champion's max stats are very balanced and perhaps boring if one wants to min-max, but the skills a Champion has are pretty good. The Champion is also meant to try and promote usage of Attack Stance as he can take hits from other units as well as passively negate enemy Attack Stance with his skill Ancient Stance.

It's also nice to have a Valla unit as well, and to bring back Nihil is just amazing in its own regard (until everyone runs Nihil, then it's just Nihil on Nihil, and then just stats and forges, but that's a topic for another day.)

[spoiler=Valkyrie]

Class: Valkyrie (Outrealm, Female Only, Solo Class)

- Level 25: Ethereal Bonds (All Einherjar have "A" support bonuses with each other and the Valkyrie.)

- Level 35: Redemption (Resurrects a fallen Einherjar unit once per map.**)

* Think Fire Emblem 8 Phantom. These Phantoms have their own unique weapon and are not part of the Weapon Triangle, and are based off of the Valkyrie's stats.

** Only one Einherjar unit will be revived, not one revive per Einherjar.

Author's Notes:

Essentially a unit that takes advantage of the Avatar Log and all the Einherjar therein. Now if only the generics had generic voices and that Avatars managed to keep their voiced lines...

Everyone has such awesome class ideas. Mine's nothing as grand.

Anyways, since Hoshido has such lack of horses, they should have got Fates version of Nomad from FE6 and 7, but based on Yabusame instead of nomadic cultures.

Scout

Uses bows

Skills:

Elbow Room (with +10 critical rate instead of +3 damage)

Canto: able to use leftover movement after an action if no enemies are with 2 tile radius.

Bow Knight

(Let's call the Nohrian class Ranger instead)

Uses swords and bows

Skills:

Deliverer: movement +2 when user is lead unit in pair-up

Triple Attack: If user can double attack and enemy can't counter attack, user attacks three times instead of two. Can't be used with other effects that give additional attacks. (This needs better name and probably some more nerfing)

Also, because Troubadour -> Maid/Butler bothers me, here's Nohrian base class with daggers.

Attendant

(I couldn't come up with better name for what's basically a servant who has yet to earn glorified status of animu maid/butler without just calling it servant)

Skills:

Hidden Suppor: User's dual attacks deal +3 damage

Shade: When enemies have other possible targets, they won't attack user

Promotes to Maid/Butler or Bodyguard (lances and daggers):

Skills:

Loyal Guardian: Can use dual guard in attack stance, but user takes reduced damage instead of no damage

Weapon Specialist: If user can't counter attack an enemy's attack but they carry a weapon they could coutner attack with, they change to that weapon for 1 battle

Troubadours get mounted class with staves and swords or lances instead. Let's call it Holy Knight because why not and I suck at names. (Pretty much what Valkyries were originally in FE)

Skills:

???: If user is support unit in pair-up, heal the lead unit at the start of each turn

???: Allies within 2 tiles recover from debuffs caused by enemies every turn

Ok, let me try!

White Wyvern

Hoshidan. Soldiers who rides a white-scaled wyvern. With their high resistance, they protect their allies with axe and staff.

Skills:

Calming Aura: Grants Avo+10 to all adjacent allies.

Healing Breath: Activate the "Breath" skill to heal 20%HP of all adjacent allies.

Copy/Pasting something I did a while ago

Raven Knight

Kunai - S

HP - 65

Atk - 25

Mag - 20

Skl - 31

Spd - 36

Luk - 29

Def - 25

Res - 33

Mov - 8

Skills:

Heart Stalker - If you trigger the battle where the enemy can counterattack, damage +5

Sleep No More - If the enemy's attack would be lethal if it hit, perform an instant kill if it misses. Negates Breaker skills against poor matchups (IE: Axes, Bows, Beast Killing Weapons, Wind Tomes).

Special Attributes - Flying / Beast Unit

Blurb - Assassins who skillfully command giant ravens. Speedy, resistant targets who are risky to take down.

Edit - Wtf the Edgar Allen Poe parallels were unintentional I swear
