[request]Please help me with getting the fates jp sound files

Recommended Posts

So for about a month I have been trying to get the fire emblem fates jp voices (not the my room voices I have those). Like the crit voices and dialogue voice clips. I've tried probably every bcwav file extractor I could find, used braindump to extract the files from my game and searching through those, but i seriously can not figure it out. Does abyone know how to obtain the files from the game? Or perhaps a link to download them that isn't dead? I'm begging you guys this has me pulling my dang hair out :/

Yea, I am having trouble finding the sounds effects as well, battle grunts, deaths, crits, and etc... If I can at least find the file that contains such things I could work on extracting them for the community.

Well, a bit late, but I know where they are and how to get them.

They're in IRON15_sound.bcsar in the sound folder.

To get the individual CWAV files, use a program called 3DS Audio Ripper.

https://gbatemp.net/threads/3ds-cwav-dumper.361437/

(it mentions RAM dumping as it was made quite a few years ago, but trust me, it'll work on the .BCSAR)

Then to convert the CWAV to standard WAV that your computer can play, use CTRTool and use a command like:

ctrtool -t cwav --wav=out.wav (insert in name here).cwav

I'm sure you can use a command to convert every file in the folder, but I'm not sure of it.

As for packing them back in again, like if you wanted half the characters to speak Japanese, unfortunately I don't think that's possible yet. Gericom is considering adding it to his Every File Explorer.

However, there is a way you could try if you're handy with a Hex editor:

@carefreejules organized the aforementioned WAVs into folders by charcater, and each file is named by the offset it appears in the BSCAR.

However it could get messy, as the offsets will change as you add stuff to the beginning of the file and they're the only way of knowing which character is which.
