So we're guaranteed to be in first in the NL Central by the All Star Break.

I'll have to admit, didn't see that one coming.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, otherwise 2014 nightmares are going to rear their ugly head

The Brewers are starting to put a little distance, and the Cubs aren't doing themselves any favors.  The odd thing is, even if the Cubs wanted to be sellers this year, I don't think they could.  Most of their team is under cost-control for several years still.  Zobrist is still signed for a couple more years, and I think he has a no-trade clause.  Arrieta and Lackey are gone after this year, but both have been playing so badly that you'd have to pay someone to take them.  The Cubs still need starting pitching, but I don't know if they'll be making a real push this year, with how they've been playing.  It's a miracle they're as close as they are.

Looks like the Pirates are only a few games away from a division win! At least that's what my stepdad said. And they just won their fifth in a row. Penguins are rubbing off on them or something, I've never seen them have such a surge! I guess a repeat champion in your city will do that to ya, especially with a pitcher who got himself escorted out of the Penguins' arena for getting too crazy cheering last year. Gerritt Cole actually did that. LOL

Also, the announcer when the Pirates won last night was priceless. "Unbelievable! Call the cops! Call the cops! There's a robbery on the North Side!" LOL

"North Side" and "South Side" are Pittsburgh area locations. Both the Steelers and Pirates play in the northern part of the city, so that would be North Side, I guess. The Penguins play right in downtown.

Ah, when I hear North Siders and South Siders, I think of Chicago Baseball, with the Cubs being called the North Siders a lot, and the White Sox are the South Siders.

It looks like the NL Central is getting interesting again.  Just when it looked like the Brewers were starting to run away with it, the Cubs and Pirates put together winning streaks to tighten things up.  The Cardinals have been meandering, but Milwaukee's losing streak has sort of shielded them from really falling in the standings much.

The Cubs' bullpen really blew it today, but hopefully they can comeback tomorrow.  They could have pulled into a tie for first place, had they held the lead going into the 8th today.  Hopefully Krys Bryant is back tomorrow.  He sprained his pinky sliding into a base a couple days ago.

Huh, didn't know that about Chicago!

And yup, the Pirates even just destroyed the Rockies 12-5 right after sweeping the Brewers! Winning streak YES!

BUCCOS DOIN' IT! Never was this excited for them before. I didn't really pay much attention to them either though, because 1, they sucked, and 2, I never thought baseball was exciting to watch anyway. And I still much prefer the NFL and NHL.

And I'm not getting my hopes up for this, but it'd be nice if this made the stupid management wake up and actually put real effort into this Pirates team to make them champs again after so long.

Still awake and can't sleep after that crazy final game of the NLDS.

We will have a repeat NLCS of last year: Cubs vs Dodgers.  Here's to hoping it has the same outcome!
