I know Wikipedia has him listed, but it always seemed to me like confusion with Daisuke Izuka who did the designs for the DS remake. In fact, Machida, Muramatu, and Ohnishi who you claim started with Gaiden, all worked on FE1 as graphic designers alongside Nintendo's own Toru Osawa. However, I'd know of your general consensus on the development of the game art in this era, and drawing parallel with games at the time.
