Haven't updated this in a while, but I figured for this tournament it would be a good idea. Our next tournament is a return of our Amateur bracket! If you are newer to the game and don't feel ready enough to join a regular tournament (though we still highly encourage joining them for a good experience!), here's a bracket for you!

Current tournament starts on: October 30th

Contact
Matchmaking will be done in the Cipher discord chat: https://discord.gg/0bF9eX4sPYfyzifE
Feel free to use any other method (Serenes PMs/Skype) if your opponent also has that as well.

Date/Time
Everyone will be given 4 days to contact and play their opponent each round.
If you are ahead in the bracket, feel free to contact your next opponent ASAP.
Disqualifications will be given to unresponsive players if matches are not played by the end of the week.

Challonge bracket:

Tournament Rules:

Spoiler

Any MC

Double Elimination
Best of 3 games
Games will be played on the LackeyCCG servers (see additional links)

Each player decides on 1 MC for the round, which are announced before the first game.

You may switch decks(MCs) inbetween rounds but not in between games.
The player going first will be decided through a die roll or decided by the loser of the previous game.
All cards played are final and cannot be taken back, unless a rule is broken and the problem is easily fixed. You are responsible for knowing if any rules of the game are broken. Any uncorrected misplays are carried on.
Cards accidentally drawn from the deck are placed back.
Always let your opponent know what effect(s) you are activating and what card(s) you are targeting.
Players are allowed to see the opponent’s retreat area and face down bonds if asked.

If a player disconnects and the game is unable to be recovered, the disconnecting player forfeits the game. To recover a lost game go to menu>revert to autosave 1/2. I recommend saving your games often to prevent any disputes. Menu>save game.

If both players disconnect, the game is reset.

Gentleman's agreement (optional)
After listing your MCs and revealing which one you are playing to the opponent, a player can propose a gentleman's agreement of taking their promotion in their opening hand.
If this is agreed upon, players draw 5 cards and then put their promotion in their hand. You are still allowed one mulligan: redraw the 5 cards and add the promotion to your hand.

For those interested, here are the final results: http://i.imgur.com/6FLLdVF.png

1st place was Green Lucina. Decklist: http://i.imgur.com/eFaPB3M.jpg

2nd place was Black Lucina.

3rd was monoblue Itsuki and standard Black/White? F Corrin. Not sure about that one.

Thanks to everyone that participated! There's going to be another tournament about a week after set 5 releases featuring only Purple/Green MCs.

1st place was Red Sothe with a Purple Mia switch in for grand finals.
2nd place was Red Sothe: decklist
3rd place was Green/Blue Geoffrey/Monogreen Geoffrey and Blue/Green Sanaki

This tournament was bigger but there were more people who just forfeited and didn't play. Thanks to those who stuck around and finished their matches! Hope to see people back for the next tournament~ The format will be slightly changed but there will be no MC/color restrictions for the next tournament. I will post more information when that has been figured out.

Updated first post. Next tournament will start on August 14th. Sign ups are open: http://challonge.com...gnup/upmijHOF4v

Major changes include:
Being able to play up to 3 decks in one round. Players announce which 3 possible MCs they will be using in the round and can choose to switch in between games.
Only 4 days to complete your set instead of a week to make the process faster.

Final results: http://i.imgur.com/46VcNtc.png

1st place lineup was White Marth / Blue Geoffrey / Black Shiro. Shiro and Marth were used in GFs.
2nd place lineup was Purple Blue Kinu / White Mia / Black Blue F Corrin. Only Kinu was used in GFs.
3rd place lineups were Purple Blue Soren / monogreen? Ike and Black Blue F Corrin / monogreen? Sanaki.

This tournament went a lot faster. It was interesting to see people's lineups - people in general mostly stuck to a main deck with the other two as backup. The format of the next tournament is undecided, but the theme will be Yellow/Black MCs only with the release of series 6.

Final results: http://i.imgur.com/JTFzyCl.png

1st place lineup was Blue and Red Elise / Blue Soliel? / Ayra (not played)
2nd place lineup was Purple Ayra / Sigurd (not played) / Azura (not played)
3rd place lineups were Monoblack Soliel and White Seigbert / Blue Soliel

Finals took a long time because of Elise. The match was super close and could have gone either way. Thanks to everyone that participated! The next tournament will be with the next set release (because it's not too far off) with White/Purple MCs.

Updated first post. Next tournament will start on December 16. Sign ups are open: http://challonge.com/tournaments/signup/hnhzlj0cr7

We have decided to drop the color theme for this next tournament since we skipped an unrestricted tournament since the last set + unrestricted tournaments should have more participation in theory for the people who only want to play certain MCs. The pick 3 format still remains, and will be considered the default from now on.

Final results: http://i.imgur.com/NGvvIvx.png

1st place lineup was Black Hana (Anankos) / Black Oboro (F Corrin) / Kagero (not played)
2nd place lineup was Black Mia / Black Hector / Sirius (not played)
3rd place lineups were Mia / Ayra / Oboro and Mia

Results were completely off of normal predictions, with Jared making it to finals while previously never getting past round 1. I point this out to encourage new players to enter ;P The matches could have gone the other way based on 2 specific decisions. Thanks to everyone that entered! The next tournament will be around a week after the next set, as usual. Unless there's a high demand.

The previous tournament hasn't concluded yet, but we are also now hosting an Amateur tournament for people less experienced with the game. The tournament starts April 14th. This is a good time to enter for those of you who are too intimidated to play with veterans :P

Final results: http://i.imgur.com/4X7UX9a.png

1st place lineup was Sothe, Chrom, Grima (Selkie and Elise were also used for the matches before GFs)
2nd place lineup was Micaiah, Itsuki, Corrin (F)
3rd place lineups were Chrom, Sothe, Grima and Oboro?, Grima, Corrin (F)

This tournament was standout in terms of upsets, with 4 results going against seeding. It's great to see the average skill level of the tournament increase. Grima was a popular choice - at least a third of entrants used her to my knowledge. Grand Finals took almost 3 hours (blame Grima) with the room maxed out on spectators to the point of Lackey lagging. Wow.

Grand finals recap:
Game 1: Sothe vs Micaiah - Went down to the wire. Purple X supports (and ~3 self supports rip) caused Sothe to lose out on a notable amount of hits. Both MCs were hiding in the backline at endgame. Sothe could destroy units that threatened him there but couldn't hit Micaiah until Arvis 1 was finally drawn.
Game 2: Chrom vs Micaiah - Elise's orb regeneration skill was the main factor in Chrom's victory. Mage meta match example here.
Game 3: Grima vs Ituski - Rush accel still showing it can take games. Turn 2 CC with a Frederick deploy (and avoid!) combined with Grima supporting 3 0's on defense against cost 1s + a fat hand spelled a turn 5 defeat.
Game 4: Grima vs Corrin (F) - The unstoppable wall http://i.imgur.com/otll8Wn.png. (Nevermind the fact that that whole back line was exploded by New Camilla 4 the next turn). A pretty typical Grima game. Grima stalled like her life depended on it (because it did!) until she built up enough avoids to attack Corrin without the risk of dying first.

Thanks to everyone that entered! The next tournament will be sometime after the amateur tourney ends, or maybe in the middle of it, who knows. We do know it will be 1 MC Bo1 as a traditional format though.

Alright, sounds good.

Everyone had better watch out, though! 'Cause I'm gonna bust through this amateur tourney with my masterpiece!

I guess I lied. The next tournament's format is now Swiss, with sets being best of 3. (We did a poll and that's the format the most people voted for.)
The tournament will still be 1 MC only with no switching decks. To make things even closer to an official tournament, a decklist will be need to be submitted to a judge before the tournament starts. Message Wolt or TheIkeGuy on the Cipher discord server to do so.

The tournament after this should be the Bo1 traditional format. Sorry for those looking forward to that one. (But it's is still happening!)
