As some of you might remember from the debate on the FE6 topic back in the ancient times of 2014, the most recent translation is not always the most valid one, but it provides a good hint of where to look. Consistency is the most important factor, followed closely by unambiguity - we don't want to have four different names for the same character if it can be avoided. Considering this, it makes sense to use Lachesis - it's what 90% of us already call her and it's an official name. This isn't a "Vergil" situation and it makes little sense to treat it as such. TheNerdyGinger Posted March 4, 2017 Share Posted March 4, 2017 I've tried patching this multiple times with every different file in the patch. Every time I do it, zsnes just refuses to open it. I'll drag and drop the patched rom onto it and snes will not open. I've tried loading the rom after opening zsnes but that won't work either. I made sure to check that it was the exact rom the read me file said to use and patched it with the corresponding patch for unheadered roms. It says to check if i have the latest version of DirectX installed, which I do. Any way I can fix this? EDIT: Never mind, figured it out. There are a few exceptions, though. Sigurd falls in love when the plot demands it and full siblings aren't allowed to get married. Usually. I have a japanese rom and an emulator already (NESbox) but I can't get lunar ips or deltapatcher because they are for windows. It doesn't seem super possible but if anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them. I guess I could get ubuntu and try from there but that seems like a lot of memory commitment... Thanks! Are there any plans to update this patch with the official names coming from Heroes? For instance, Lachesis instead of Raquesis. I noticed a few odd things in the ending. One was that Patty and Cairpre were married, and at one point, he called her PattyKtu. Another interesting issue I noticed is that Seliph called some random dude with a mustache Sigurd. I have no idea who this character is...he looked like a random villager NPC. Finally, it doesn't seem like this patch and Nightmare play along nicely together. I noticed the values get all jacked up when loading it into Nightmare. Would it be possible to edit things in the original Japanese version with Nightmare then apply this patch over it, or will that just jack up the values again? I'm thinking the latter... Hero of the Fire Emblems Posted March 31, 2017 Share Posted March 31, 2017 (edited) Ok this is subject to change since they already went back on a previous localization in the past month, but Fire Emblem Echoes localized the name of the Levin Sword from 2, 4, and 5- the very same Holsety localized differently from Levin Sword- as the "Lightning Sword" rather than Bolt Sword. Again; subject to change until May 19th. I'm very much looking forward to Holsety's rendition of Thracia, as it will certainly be top quality and (no offense to anyone else intended) likely among the best the fanbase can provide, along with the gringe binding blade patch. This question needs a lot more information to be answerable. I'm guessing you have FE4 .nmms from somewhere, which would work with the patch if the tables edited in those modules were not moved. You'll have to forgive me for my lack of knowledge on the subject. I know I have FE4 Nightmare modules (it has several item, class, and character editors) and the file I used was an smc (I'm not sure if that means anything or not).
