So... Add Light Magic?

Aura was Linde only before FE11 and 12 made both it and Excalibur somewhat non-exclusive. Aura was just normal magic in FE1, 3, 11 and 12 anyways.

I think Aura and Excalibur would both make a good legendary weapons in Awakening GBA though. Same with Starlight possibly?

Yes, I know it's Resire. I'm just really used to Nosferatu. I should probably switch.

Basically, the hack can either keep the GBA Magic system, keep Awakening's system of "Only Dark Mages can use Dark Magic", or go with FE1, 3, 11 and 12's "Magic is magic, theres no 3 types". It's really up to the hacker. They can really do whatever they want to. They could remove magic if they wanted to.

Here's some unrelated to that stuff things I want to say. Just suggestions.

I think the hack should keep War Monks from Awakening. They're an interesting class, and I'd hate to see them go away.

Sorcerers should still be physically tank, but maybe give them some more weaknesses. They're... pretty broken.

How would Child units get programed? They're a big part of the plot. Maybe they could show up in the main story? You don't get many new units in mid game anyways.

If we do mess with the script, I feel some things, like Basilio swaping out the Gules gemstone for a fake, should be specified. And maybe change them back to the Sphere names?

Just throwing some ideas onto the pile.

I was just saying that the idea of the multiple magic types was always present, whether it was reflected by gameplay or not-- basically poking fun at the notion. At least, that's what I was trying to do, I guess that I didn't come off quite that way.

Oh, sorry I didn't understand that.

Yeah. Off the top of my head, Leif's Blade needs to be the Light Sword, and Finn's Lance should probably still be called that to avoid confusion, but at least give it a Brave effect.

So... what? Still a bit confused. So there's the Anima Resire tome, and the Dark Nosferatu tome? Is that what you're saying?

One thing that could use some revamping is the armor, please, if someone were to make the mugs for the game, make the armor look normal, I don't want my armor knights to have toilets on their heads.

Why not Fates GBA?

Well my original idea was for FE 12 GBA as thats my favorite game in the series. On another note I am a bit surprised how many people were interested in this project. I feel gameplay/mechanic-wise I'm gonna stick closer to sacred stones simply because I am not an expert hacker myself. Also if anyone could be comisioned for sprites please PM me!

Change the chapter goals. Some should be defend e.g. Chapter 6 (protect Em). Or reach x point by this turn/defend this point (the awakening chapter, protect the shrine from destruction maybe? Rescue Emmeryn before turn X?). Possible escort chapters (Chapter 7, escort emmeryn to Castle?). Chapter variety is a must. lAlso, Lon'qu should be enemy recruit with Chrom. Have him start off as 'Marth's second in command' who is resentful and joins you to beat 'Marth'. Also, have some enemy recruitable characters or villages different e..g Tharja recruitable via Robin as well. I'm more of a suggestions person, I know nothing about editing and hacking.

A lot of the ideas you mentioned are floating around already in the creative bubble and its just gonna be down to the tedium of adding it. Love the ideas though obviously

Oh boy a triple post (pardon me if this is a no no but i figured itd be okay as its my rom thread) but what i said for spriters and such above extends for any part of this hack. If you have a talent and a passion for this idea I'd be willing to pay for assistance just PM me.

you will defedently need some map spriters for the final chapter.

the only problem im seeing at the moment is what to do for classes that use both magic and weapons for its attack. specifically robin.

im not GBA expert.... but im pretty sure its a pain and very glitchy trying to give characters both a magic and phisical weapon.

It isn't? Midnight Sun does that, so it's at least possible. I don't know if somebody made a guide for that.

This is actually one of the reasons I postponed my Thracia remake until FEXNA comes out. That, and PCC, skills, scrolls, and dismount.

UPDATE TIME BOYS: The first playable patch should be available around December or January (you'll have to bear with me on dates in a college student) However ive turned this into a pretty much solo project not because I feel my work is better but I feel the kind of stuff created by teams is inherently different than that created by an individual. Thag being said, I know nothing about custom tile sets so if anyone happens to be educated on the matter please PM me.

Well I hope it turns out to go well for you. I am working on a solo project myself but it isn't the same idea as this.The project I have been doing is FE8 Maniac Mode and I will have a second patch coming out soon. I do need help testing it as I am one person and I will need input on what needs to be fixed if anything. Though if I may ask is it custom tile designs or just custom effects that you can make tiles have?
