I prefer FE9!Marcia over FE10!Marcia, and FE10!Tormod over FE9!Tormod. So those two wouldn't be interchangeable. Haven't played any other FE games.

I've not played the first 5 and Radiant Dawn or very much of 6, 8, 11 and 12. I'm in part biased because of this but I like to think I did some balancing with some of my options too.

...Alrighty, so, to make things more interesting, I'm going to be considering each character to only be "from" the earliest (in terms of in-universe chronology) game they appeared in. So, for example, Marcus is only available as an FE7 pick, Tiki is only available as an FE1 pick, so on and so forth. Buckle up everybody, 'cause it's favoritism time!

  2. The Other Robin
  3. Luke
  4. Briggid/Bridget
  5. Ronan (I haven't really played much of FE5; I just think he looks cool)
  6. Gonzales, obviously
  7. Nino
  8. Amelia
  9. Nephenee
  10. Meg or Fiona
  11. Athena
  12. Katarina by default
  13. Brady
  14. Oboro (Birthright), Arthur (Conquest), Fuga (Revelation; by default)

Honestly like half of these are under the assumption that their joining circumstances in this theoretical Fire Emblem game will be conducive to actually using them.

(Also Fiona's design is actually my favorite of any Cavalier/Cavalier-type character in the series; it's a shame she's basically unusable)

FE2: Celicia - Because Mage Fighter. It helps that Gaiden's magic is pretty cool

FE3: Palla - An extremely powerful Pegasus Knight in the early game. Yup, she is fun

FE4: Finn - He's got decades of loyalty on his resume

FE5: Olwen - Mage Fighter. Also a nice character arc but that feels kinda pointless given the magic/sword goodness that she provides. I'm shallow like that.

TRS: Raquel - Her extreme power but inability to actually kill anything make her really fun to use

FE6: Echidna - Admittedly just because she looks awesome. It's too bad all her supports are about her conversation partner

FE7: Pent - A really good unit and a cool design

FE8: Duessel - Awesome guy, awesome design, awesome unit

FE9: Titania - She is not quite my favourite character in the game but her awesomeness kinda forces me to have her on board

FE10: Nolan - I don't know why, I just kinda like the guy. It's probably the beard.

FE11: Wendel - He is an early game Sage, which is a huge relief when all your mage guys are stuck at 5 move and can't double. Plus, he looks like the Pope.

FE13: Sumia - Not that I actually care about her but among the cast I find her the easiest to tolerate

FE14: Effie - Employee of the month in Conquest and a very entertaining attitude

I've only played the GBA games and the 3DS games, So I'm just going by the bonus units from Awakening:

FE1(11): Marth - Gotta have the poster boy in there.

FE2: Celica - I like her design

FE3(12): Athena - I like her design

FE4: Alteria - I like her design

FE5: Leif - I like hi- you get the idea

FE6: Percival - Haven't gotten him yet, but I've heard good things and he looks like a badass.

FE7: Dart - We need that axe power yo.

FE8: Lute - Best Mage in GBA as well as best girl in SS.

FE9: Titania - Female Jeigan FTW

FE10: Michiah - Mage Lord FTW

FE13: Maribelle - Parasol-fu too op.

FE14BR: Reina - Bloodthirsty woman riding a giant bird with a bow. What more could you ask for?

FE14CQ: Beruka - She's my waifu. That's all.

FE14RV: Azura - We need a dancer, but learn a new song plz.
