How do growths work exactly?

Recommended Posts

I've becoming more familiar with Fire Emblem mechanics and now I'm doing a test on how many Speed points Joshua will gain from when you get him, to Level 20 Swordmaster...there is just one problem. I'm not sure how Growth Rates are calculated, are you supposed to add his growths with his classes growths? I would love to know

Base Growths + Class growths wasn't a thing until FE11 and onward for player characters.

Characters in the games prior to that just have their own personal growths. http://serenesforest.net/the-sacred-stones/characters/growth-rates/

Class growths are more for enemies on their "randomized" levels when they are generated in the older games, although if they start as enemies (and you're playing on hard mode) the bases of those characters will be higher, and be mildly dependent on chance as well.
