I am sure plenty of people wondered what pokemon other characters had, but what if they had actually pokemon types? For my entries:

Corrin: Dragon/Water

Azura: Water/Fairy

Pit: Normal/Flying(I know he can't technically fly but still)

Dark Pit: Dark/Flying

Palutena: Psychic/Fairy

Ike: Fighting/Steel (his armor and battle skills)

Ryoma: Fighting/Electric (his sword has electricity, it looks like)

Kieran, Frederick, Sain, and Silas: Steel/Fighting (they have more armor than Ike, so they have the two types switched around)

Ranulf: Normal/Grass (he's a cat, lives in woods/forest, and is actually weak to fire)

Luigi: Fighting/Fire (Fire Flower is an iconic power-up in the Marioverse)

Daisy: Grass/Ground (her flower theme, plus desert kingdom)

Rosalina: Fairy (she just strikes me as a pure Fairy type. She could be Psychic too though, I guess)

Falco: Normal/Flying (he's a bird that can fly and he just strikes me as Normal type as well)

Spyro: Dragon/Flying (duh lol)

Luigi: Fighting/Fire (Fire Flower is an iconic power-up in the Marioverse)

I think Electric would be better on Luigi, actually, since it's treated as his answer to Mario's fire abilities sometimes, because of his "Green Thunder" title as Mr. L, the Thunderhand ability in Superstar Saga, the electric mega strike in Strikers Charged, and the implied competence with machines (Brobot, Luigi's Engine Room, etc.)

So make Mario Fire/Fight while Luigi gets Elec/Fight.

Gunvolt: Electric/Psychic in first game- Electric/Fairy for second

Copen: Steel/Psychic in the first game- Steel/Flying in the second

Nova: Psychic/Fairy

Rathian and Rathalos (okay, they're monsters, but monsters are pretty much the characters of Monster Hunter): Dragon/Poison and Dragon/Flying

Zinogre: Electric

Mizutusne: Water/Fairy

Rajang: Fighting/Electric

The cast of Tokyo Mirage Sessions:

Itsuki: Electric/Fighting (Uses Thunder magic, plus fighting sword skills)

Tsubasa: Flying/Fairy (Flying covers her Pegasus status and Wind magic, Fairy for her singing abilities.

Touma: Fire/Fighting (Fire for his magic type, Fighting for his lance skills)

Kiria: Dark/Psychic (Dark for her Dark Mage type, Psychic for all her other magic coverage)

Ellie: Electric/Fairy (Electric covers her most prominent magic, Fairy for her singing skills)

Mamori: Ice/Steel (Uses Ice magic, Steel for her Knight type)

Yashiro: Fighting/Dark (Fighting for his sword skills, Dark for his... well... "dark" side)

Sorry, no. As much as I would've liked Luigi to be more focused on electricity to further differentiate him from his bro, that just was never the case. The only times he was ever associated with it at all is in Superstar Saga. Mr. L is a bit of a stretch because one, Luigi is brainwashed here, and two, he never actually uses electricity. Thunder is just in his title.

And the Fire Flower is iconic, like I said. Luigi even still has fireballs in Smash. So Fire works best.

Personally I would make Luigi Fire/Flying to separate him from Mario's Fire/Fighting, due to him having floatier controls in the games where he's different from Mario.

I once had a discussion with some friends about what pokemon types the (non-pokemon) characters in Smash Bros 4 would have. We never actually discussed the DLC characters, nor did we actually complete the list, but this is some of what we decided:

Peach: Normal/Fairy

Yoshi: Normal/Dragon

Bowser: Fire/Dragon

Donkey Kong: Fighting

Link: Steel/Fairy

Zelda: Psychic/Fairy

Pit: Normal/Flying

Dark Pit: Dark/Flying

Palutena: Fairy

Marth: Steel

Ike: Steel/Fire

Lucina: Steel

Robin: Steel/Psychic

Ness: Normal/Psychic

Captain Falcon: Fighting

Little Mac: Fighting

Megaman: Steel

Kirby: Normal

We had decided on pokemon types for Fox, Falco, Mr. Game & Watch, Meta Knight, King Dedede, and others. But I can't remember what they were. Interestingly enough, we never agreed on whether Mario and Luigi should be normal/fire or fighting/fire.

I actually made up a fake Pokémon card for Azura for fun when playing around with some new blanks. Of course she's a Water-type. :P

I made notes for some other Fates characters, but haven't gotten around to making actual cards for them yet. Some of them I'm pretty confident with the picks, others are a bit stretching, but it's kind of difficult!: Hoshido!Corrin as Colorless, Nohr!Corrin as Darkness, Xander as Metal, Camilla as Dragon, Leo as Grass, Elise as Fairy, Ryoma as Lightning, Hinoka as Colourless, Takumi as Fighting, Sakura as Psychic. Also Odin for Darkness, of course. His darkness is darker than anyone's, after all.

Dante: Dark/Fighting

Vergil: Dark/Steel

Nero: FairyDark

They're all half demon. I was debating on Dante being Dark/Steel too but I decided with fighting.

Saber (Nero): Grass/Steel (despite her appearance with a lot of fire, she has a lot of flower motifs too)

Archer (EMIYA): Steel/Fire (STEEL IS MY BODY AND FIRE IS MY BLOOD)

Caster (Tamamo): Fairy/Psychic

Sten: Steel/Fighting

Morrigan: Dark/Psychic

Zevran: Dark/Poison

Wynne: Psychic/Fairy

Oghren: Fighting

Leliana: Fairy/Dark

Alistair: Steel/Ghost (I'm not happy with it, but it's the only way he could mess up both Psychic and Fairy types.)

Shale: Rock/Ghost

Dog: Normal/DRAGON
