What Are You Listening To Right Now?

The cracking skies... on trembling Earth
Closing the eye... of blinding Sun
WHO AM I? - a question... already answered
I am who I am... no less, no more
Destined to be... never to extinct
Remaining after... everything dies
Remaining... a Dog Star's Son... beyond the Sun
For ever... and more

I return instead
To the Heart and Self
and say:
"Unutterable and nameless
is that which maketh my soul's pain
and sweetness,
and which my bowels yearn upon"

That woman in grief
Luxurious Gehenna
And what I have become
What I have done to you
Listen to me instead of the blind folks' speak
Forget the mature plan
We are but humans you'll see

From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were - I have not seen
As others saw - I could not bring
My passions from a common spring
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I lov'd, I lov'd alone
Then - in my childhood - in the dawn
Of a most stormy life - was drawn
From ev'ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain
From the Sun that 'round me roll'd
In it's autumn tint of gold -
From the lighting in the sky
As it pass'd me flying by -
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that look the form
(When the rest of heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.

a classical version of Inno a Satana from 1994's In the Nightside Eclipse.

@Benice: tagging you for obvious purposes (you did say you love classical music right? I forget now)

YE!

Never heard that one before! It's a nice little hidden gem.

Speaking of hidden gems:

Holst is only really known for Mars and Jupiter from The Planets, but this another one of his works I'm very fond of.

Getting a little political ;):  Very influencial band in the German left wing scene 40-50 years ago (well, still is, probably)

Spoiler

One of my favorite childhood songs! This song reminds me of my first time visiting the Canadian Rockies-It was playing just as we entered Banff. Isn't it just like me to think of songs that are at least thirty years older than me first

Spoiler

One of my favorite songs of all time here too-We listened to this song all of the time when I was little. (Well, littler. I'm still short.) The nostalgia that I get from the intro of this song is immense.

Spoiler

This song played during the Vancouver 2010 Olympics! I was still super young in 2010, but I remember a lot of things that shaped my life came from all of the inspirational stories in the olympics, even if I never saw 'em in person.

Spoiler

I dunno why this symphony is forgotten-it's one of Dvorak's better works, in my opinion-In fact, I prefer it to his famous symphony no. 9.
