Gradivus.
C23 8/91 turns Oof. Lon'qu pocket Lucina was put on a risky spot on turn 1 to mop up a lot of enemies. He did most of the work, including dodging bows occasionally and was Rally Spectrum'd continuously from turn 2 on. Fred and the Khans also did some fighting. I would almost have finished on turn 7, but I overlooked Validar's Renewal. Had I used Killer Axe over Helswath for the bosskill, it would probably have been successful. Anyway, the last thing I wanted to do is redo this map so 8 turns it is. Spoiler C24 5/96 turns This wasn't easy. Lon'qu used his 12 mov to kill the Bow Knight on turn 1. With Lucina, he had just enough Str to ORKO Wyvern Lords with Killer Axe. Flavia had an easy time killing the 5 enemies in the bottom-left area on the nearby fort. Most of them died on turn 1 because Basilio got danced to pair up with her. Fred went up to take on some enemies, but left most of the work to Lon'qu since I can't keep Rally Spectrum on both of them and Lon'qu needs it anyway for the boss area. Turns 2 and 3, Lon'qu ORKOed or 2RKOed a lot of enemies with Hand Axe, surviving easily on turn 3 because most of them were finished off with Vantage. Turn 4, Lon'qu used the droppable Tomahawk to ORKO most enemies, including the reinforcements. Only 2 enemies were alive after the EP, one of which was finished by Chrom and the other by Lon'qu. It was theoretically possible to 4-turn the map, but the reliability was aready iffy, so I just sticked with this. Spoiler C25 1/97 turns Yeah. Endgame 1/98 turns Forged a +4 mt, +20 hit Brave Axe. Lon'qu pocket Lucina got Str/Spec rallied and killed a General. He then got danced (Maribelle rescued Stahl pocket Olivia) and attacked Grima. Cherche, Stahl and Olivia got sacked on EP so Lon'qu doesn't get killed by bows. Lon'qu then got attacked by Grima, here are the hitrates: Spoiler 29% chance for a successful DS, doing 14 damage Lon'qu had not to get hit with Ignis on PP since generic enemies would kill him in that case. Otherwise he's pretty much safe, the CoS is around 20%. FINAL TURNCOUNT: 98 TURNS Unit Stuff: Spoiler Chrom: 14/11.11 / 46 HP / 26 str / 6 mag / 25 skl / 25 spd / 21 lck / 21 def / 9 res / A swd, E lnc 56B, 35W. Great pairup bot for Fred, I don't remember what else he did. Aqua: 16/17.98 / 47 HP / 24 str / 23 mag / 23 skl / 30 spd / 20 lck / 19 def / 12 res / E swd, A mgc 164B, 100W. Great combat unit until midgame, then crucial with Rally Spectrum. Fred: xx/19/11.30 / 63 HP / 29 str / 8 mag / 27 skl / 32 spd / 17 lck / 27 def / 15 res / A swd, A lnc 404B, 211W. God throughout the whole game. He got rather lucky with his level ups, with Silver Sword!Chrom in the back and Rally Spectrum he could easily go up against multiple lategame enemies at once. Lon'qu: 10/10/14/14.28 / 74 HP / 47 str / 9 mag / 41 skl / 39 spd / 33 lck / 26 def / 15 res / E lnc, A axe 266B, 202W. He carried everything in the second half of the game. With Tantivy, Avo +10 and Quick Burn, his final form had 135 avo. He also had 77 atk and 212 hit with the Brave Axe forge. Vantage also compensated his rather low Def in a lot of situations. Lucina: 20/15.38 / 55 HP / 32 str / 13 mag / 37 skl / 36 spd / 30 lck / 25 def / 16 res / A swd, D lnc 44B, 36W. Pretty solid overall, did a lot of pairup work in the late routs, which was very important. Stahl: 18/1.67 / 43 HP / 22 str / 2 mag / 19 skl / 15 spd / 12 lck / 19 def / 11 res / A swd, A lnc 81B, 47W. Good early on, then he promoted and did nothing. Died in Endgame, RIP. Vaike: 5.67 / 31 HP / 10 str / 0 mag / 9 skl / 7 spd / 6 lck / 7 def / 0 res / C axe Str/Def pairup bot. Nothing else, really. Maribelle: 19/13.37 / 36 HP / 2 str / 22 mag / 18 skl / 25 spd / 26 lck / 15 def / 24 res / E mgc, A stf 9B, 7W. Only staff user => super important. Ricken: 8.67 / 25 HP / 5 str / 12 mag / 9 skl / 8 spd / 14 lck / 8 def / 5 res / C mgc 18B, 9W. Those stats are how you fail to keep up. Olivia: 14.24 / 26 HP / 9 str / 4 mag / 17 skl / 18 spd / 18 lck / 7 def / 5 res / D swd 2B, 0W. Dancer/10, died in Endgame. RIP. Cherche: 15/1.16 / 39 HP / 22 str / 3 mag / 18 skl / 19 spd / 10 lck / 19 def / 5 res / C axe 11B, 0W. Died in Endgame. Like Stahl, she did something, promoted and got useless. RIP. Flavia: xx/13.12 / 60 HP / 33 str / 7 mag / 37 skl / 38 spd / 29 lck / 28 def / 15 res / A swd, B axe 10B, 7W. Rally spectrum made her extremely good against the C24 enemies. Overall I'm glad the Khans were free. Basilio: xx/11.12 / 73 HP / 38 str / 4 mag / 32 skl / 29 spd / 24 lck / 26 def / 10 res / A axe, B bow 3B, 2W. Same for Basilio. Without Rally Str, the Grima kill would've been an absolute pity. Final thoughts: It was an interesting playthrough, but this mode is not draft-friendly at all. The Avatar/Gen2 Second Seal restriction worked well, as expected. The only change I'd make to the ruleset is allowing multiple rescues per turn. Buyable rescues would probably be fine too. There's always a tradeoff to rescue skipping, especially with the Lunatic stat curve, and additional staff users would become useful that way and more creative strats would be possible. Anyway, that's just in case someone wants to do a Lunatic draft in the future, I don't think I will. It's definitely more interesting to do HM with some extra rules like No Pairup, No Second Seals or whatever else we might think of. Also yay, this draft didn't get older than the CQ draft on my backlog. Edited August 12, 2019 by Gradivus.
Carmine Sword
Oh hey, what's up. Been a while hasn't it. In my quest to finally clear out my draft backlog I have finally finished this god-forsaken draft that has spited me at every turn for the past 4 years. Saved about 7 turns in previous maps compared to before. Biggest change compared to previous attempts was focusing a lot more exp into Chrom at the expense of Sumia because tbh, using Sumia as a frontline combat unit in this ruleset without the Bonus Box items is a complete waste of time, as evidenced by the fact that she didn't learn Rally Move until Chapter 19. Giving Chrom exp helped a lot in the mid-game routs before Morgan showed up and made Grima a lot more bearable.
