[FE8] Problems with palettes not working and Ewan's auto-promotion crashes the game.

Hello, I'm doing a hack of FE8, and currently I'm editing palettes but the Shaman, Summoner, Druid won't change even after changing the palettes with BSPalette Assembler and doing the required modifications on nightmare. And (I don't know if this is related) but when Ewan hit lvl.10 the game softlock (Blackscreen after the dialogue but nothing else shows up) and I'm unable to continue the game since Ewan promotes at the start of a chapter. I'm using FEditor Adv, Nightmare, Fe_Recolor, BSPalette Assembler and HxD.

What could I do do resolve those problems ?

The only thing I can think of to resolve any issues is opening the ROM in FEditor and saving it. This is an issue that a lot of people have, though for different reasons.

Sadly, it fixes nothing. Ewan still softlockes the game and the now some palettes are messed up/back to generic.

Are you trying to change character palettes or generic class palettes?
What steps are you taking to do this?

Ewan's and the Lords palette was modified by HxD and the rest was via BSPalette Assembler.

Are you sure you changed Ewan's palette correctly? Palettes are typically compressed from what I remember, so if you don't know what you're doing, it's really easy to mess something up. Best to use a tool.

I'm changing the Generic Palette for the pupil class via this method : https://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?/topic/45833-compressed-generic-palette-editing/
And I don't know if there is any tool for that.

Have you tried one of the ones listed here?

Best to try it on a fresh ROM and a copy of your save file to see if things work.
