I still plan to actually calculate this a bit more accurately, but as a rough estimate Amped becomes better for raw damage when you're at around 85-110 luck, depending on a few other factors like how many additive bonuses you have, if you're Bolstering a strength skill or just a boost, and your Strength/Magic stat. This is assuming Luna + 720 power weapons by the way.

Since Amped also boosts e.g. Lethality chance, significantly increases durability, Awakening duration etc. that should also be considered. But just for damage, the above applies. I think I put Bolster on about half a dozen characters. Camilla, Frederick, Niles, Tharja, Robin(?) maybe.

Ah, thank you! I guess I will go with bolster and something like rainstorm as a filler until I get better skills for those characters.

what to do after completing story mode ?

Is there any fast levelling or farming for gold method ?

After completing story it's time to dive into History Mode, there is one specifically tailored to grinding materials with its maps, it was free DLC (it's based on Arena Fernox) and there's some gold grinding maps on a later one.

Im at work or I'd look for the exact maps

Like Jedi said, dive right into History mode. Also, replay the story mode for more mementos (must be on Hard or higher).

thanks.. there are many crests with ????. Not sure where to get those materials.  Is there other way to farm those materials to beside from levelling up of friendship besides reset of levels ?

Odds are the ones you want are from Validar, Gharnef, Iago, Darios, or Velezark. If you don't have DLC, there's also Owain, Navarre, Niles and Oboro that you're gonna have to farm. And thieves, because they're the single rarest unit type in the entire game. Oh, and one last thing: Essences can only be gained by raising support rank to A (if you do have DLC, the Bond Charm makes this easier).

Yeah, you'll have exactly enough for everyone. Pretty easy to see why - you need one essence per other character in the game to get all the skills on someone, and you gain one essence per other character in the game from supports.

You'll only run out of essences in the sense that you will only have precisely enough essences for everyone except for the source character (who obviously doesn't need it anyway).  You can give every character in the game every skill, though various skills literally have no impact on your characters (e.g. Iote's Shield does absolutely nothing for the infantry characters).

I don't think there's any risk of accidentally using the essences for things like blessings which require various materials, as I'm pretty sure you can't use essences for anything but obtaining skill crests.  So really, there's no need to worry about how many essences you have.

That's correct - all of the limited materials such as Master Seals, Scrolls, Opuses and Essences can only be used for creating crests, not blessings, and there's exactly enough of each to create every crest - 32 Master Seals (6 Story + 17 vanilla History + 9 DLC), one of each Scroll and Opus, and 31 of each Essence, one from each support conversation involving that character.

Do we have the numbers on Owain's skill yet? What the damage boost is at equal Strength/Magic and how fast it falls off? I've been wondering what the cutoff is on how close the stats have to be for it to be worthwhile.

it's 25% at equal str/mag and I think I remember the formula being something like (50-|str-mag|)/2 so if str-mag=0 then you get 25 if the difference is 10 you get 20% (50-10=40/2=20)

Pretty sure the difference between most mainstats is actually pretty high, like 20+, but if it's 10 or less it's probably not a bad choice.

Edit: Means it could be good in early levels when the difference is small, but might fall off at higher levels

It's ( 25 - Difference / 5) % extra damage. So every 5 points difference between the stats means it's a 1% smaller boost, and at 125 points difference, it'll give no boost whatsoever.

As a result as @CmdrQuartz mentions this means it's actually pretty good on anyone at low levels. At higher levels, it's only good on characters with close Str/Mag like Owain, Cordelia, Celica, Rowan, Lianna, Corrin, Camilla, Anna, Tiki and Niles.

What are generally considered ideal builds in this game?  I'm surprised how much trouble I've been having finding such information (though it's not as though the game is oppressively difficult), at least since some of the DLC has come out with more Skills and Weapon Attributes.

Astra, Luna, Luck+20 seem automatic.  With the level cap heightened, have the luck scores become high enough that Lethality is basically a must now as well?  The new Galeforce ability seems like it may make the list now, with the last slot depending on the character but likely Solidarity, maybe Resonating Power on Owain and Celica, and Awakening on Tiki?  I guess I almost forgot Trample, but is that maybe an option for characters with lower Luck?

Also curious if people ever make support specialists out of lower-tier characters, with skills like Dracoshield and Amaterasu.

You can find some skill recommendations on the Online Resource spreadsheet, although it's more on weapon skills than character skills. In general for optimal builds:

Must have: Astra, Luna, Lethality. All three are pretty obvious. Astra is crazy good, and weapon skills (especially spirit) are generally more valuable than character skills, so you want Astra rather than Acceleration. Luna is a huge damage increase for basically everyone that isn't Frederick, and even on him at high levels (100+) it's good enough to be worth a slot almost always. Lethality provides an absolutely massive damage increase when it activates (+400% additive damage), and has typically pretty good chances at high levels. Since a lot of damage comes from crits anyway, it's a highly valuable skill.

Typical remaining slots:

Luck+20 is a solid boost to both Luna and Lethality. Slightly counterintuitively, the higher your luck, the bigger the proportional boost it gives to Luna, so it has more impact on high luck than low luck characters. The +10% Lethality chance is nice, as well as the +6-11% extra damage to Luna, but those two things aren't necessarily enough to make it an auto include any more

Galeforce provides a pretty substantial boost to Awakening, which can make prolonged Awakening easy to maintain and/or ensure you always have Awakening ready for when it's needed. Mages and Archers are probably better off with Quick Wit, since they can get an easy gold stun gauge crit thanks to their C1, and with all three of the Awakening charge speed crests that's enough to ready Awakening for them. They can't prolong Awakening in Awakening, but personally I don't think that's too big of a price to pay (the first 15-20 seconds of Awakening is usually all you need), unless you're combining with Vengeance.

Vengeance is really powerful if you're careful and work around it. It combos really well with a Galeforce build, since you cannot be killed in Awakening, and it provides an absurd boost to everything except specials and crits (up to +400% damage). I don't recommend having Vengeance on everyone, but putting it on a few characters can make them able to rip through enemies ridiculously fast.

Resonating Power is great on everyone with MAG and STR (or DEF/RES if using Statflip) that are close together. Rowan, Lianna, Corrin, Camilla, Cordelia, Anna, Tiki, Celica, Niles and Owain all have close enough stats to use this well (+20-25% bonus, even at level 150)

Iote's Shield on fliers. Not always needed but can be nice if you want to negate that big weakness they have. Mounts don't really need it - mountslayers are super rare. Tiki and Corrin can sometimes benefit, but anti-dragon weapons are also not super common.

Lone Wolf if you don't pair up. +50% damage is massive.

Solidarity if you DO pair up. +25% damage for your partner is still very solid.

Awakening if you want to run an Awakening centric build (often using Galeforce + Vengeance + Awakening).

There's also defensive options which can be good sometimes if you want to boost someone's bulk. At level 100+, in most cases Aegis or Pavise is the best option there, although Frederick amusingly is still better off with Res+10 than Aegis even at level 150 IIRC. Dracoshield is of course good if someone is a dedicated support, otherwise don't bother. There's a few grinding options as well of course - Paragon doubles EXP so it's pretty good if you want to grind those levels up, Payday is luck% more money from battle, can be good in gold rushes, and Potent Potion for support grinding. And finally, Armoured Blow has some potential value, but it's probably not worth a slot on most characters unless you find yourself taking potshots often (in that case though, probably adjust your positioning rather than your skills).

Most other skills not listed here are probably not worth considering. This includes most Stat+10s (too weak), Trample (too weak), most healing abilities like Sol, Amaterasu, Potent Potion and Live to Serve (rarely need much healing - though PP is at least niche for things like villager rescue). The DLC has come with LOTS of really good abilities - many of them support new and interesting builds compared to the base game set.

In general, I suppose a generic, one-size-fits-most build would be something like: Astra, Luna, Lethality, Luck+20, Solidarity/Lone Wolf, Galeforce/Quick Wit. Adapt and adjust as needed for each character.

So, and I can't believe I'm finally asking this, what is the best stage for money grinding. Between convoy blessing, rare item blessing and the level reset loops my funds are running low and not getting enough gains to offset the stuff I need (convoy & rare material break even most of the time, usually getting 7-10k return if I'm diligent about killing). Assume I am using Payday but not the money blessing (dont have enough excess silvers).

My first thought was obvious: Gold rush stage, go to town. But even a pretty good run on that only got me like 80k which is about what I'm getting (a little less, actually) on other normal stages and I'm locked in to that time limit. So I guess a stage that's...worth a lot?? But quick to beat?

Personally I found that using a high luck character like Anna or Caeda and using the Luck Blessing to boost their luck stat to at least 240 instead of using the wealthy blessing actually gives me slightly more gold. With Awakening's DLC on Owain's history map I have been using the Lv.116 distortion Gold Rush to farm money. With the luck blessing and payday on a high luck character along with galeforce and other damage boosting skills like Luna and Vengeance on them I have been getting at least 135k or more per run (I've tried a run with wealthy blessing and got close to 130k and without any blessing got slightly over 125k) and then selling the weapons afterwards gets me another 100k making it around 235k or more per run.

This is also all assuming you are using a character with a 720 power weapon with the above skills, with awakening mode on at all time and are killing the captains very quickly.

Yeah I'm using 720 and Anna (level 110). I'ts a lower level map, though (the one on Emmeryn, the dragon on the fort with lots of manaketes & wyvern lords). I guess level matters significantly more...maybe I'll try to finish owain's map first

I have to say though, I think I misinterpreted how the wealth blessing worked when theory crafting. The fact there's only about 5k difference between using the blessing and not's kind of...not worth it. I'd argue the luck blessing isn't that worth it either. You're paying 25k for an extra ~15k? ~125k (even ~120) a run with no blessings seems way better a deal.

No blessing at all might be for the best since I forgot about the 25k payment for luck blessings. I tried the Emmeryn timed onslaught and just found out that it takes place on the Kingswood stage which I hate doing timed onslaughts on because I feel like that map is much bigger than Dragon Valley (Owain's gold rush map) and it is much harder to keep awakening mode on since captains seem to spawn much farther away from each other. I did a few runs but only seems to constantly get 85k each time.

Edit: Whoops, I thought you were talking about the Mage on the middle right on Emmyern's map but my point stands. Killing higher level captains does earn you more gold.

I also tried a few more runs without blessings on Owain's gold rush map and I still get between 125k and 128k per run. I'm surprised an eight level difference between the two missions matters so much. The Lv. 116 Gold Rush is mostly Monster enemies with a some Manaketes and Mages but I also have been using Anna (mine is Lv. 118) and Strong 3 is usually enough to kill them quickly with Vengeance/Awakening mode combo.

Sorry I gave you the wrong directions. I'm talking about the level 75 Gold Rush map. It doesn't use Kingswood, it uses Great Plain. It's the one that gives the acceleration sword.

Although, after doing a few more runs earlier, I get about as much here (~85k if i'm all anna all the time) as you did on the gold-less timed onslaught. I guess one thing to take away from this is that the Gold Rush missions are a much better deal relative to the standard Timed Onslaught. If Gold RUsh was instead a  "restriction" like Test of Skill, rather than its own (technical) battle type, it would probably pay out a crazy amount in a standard mission (seige, rescue, escape, shadow rush, etc)

Okay, I did the correct map this time and strangely enough, and correct me if I have been wrong this whole time, but I think I have made 127k on the Wyvern Lord map. I decided to save an image of it and circled what I think is the correct amount in red.

Spoiler

I still think I prefer Owain's gold rush map. 7 minutes I feel like just goes on for too long compared to 5 minutes and sometimes it feels like it takes 20-30 seconds for new enemy captains to spawn in and I'm just standing around risking my Awakening gauge to wear off. Plus the Wyvern Lord gold rush only gives me silver weapons while the distortion gold rush on Owain's map gives me brave and hero weapons to sell.

No that's definitely the same one. That's so strange, though. I kill everything on that map as it arrives (except the guy stealing the villager's money, i have to let the message queue go for that). Maybe I'm not using Awakening enough? I usually pop it twice but I can't keep it up through the whole thing.

What's your route? For this one and the owain map? I'll work towards getting the owain distortion since 5 minutes for similar amounts is way more effecient but it'd be nice to know if I need more gold in the meantime.

Maybe I'll do a video capture of my runs and post it here later when I'm able to since I think it would be better seeing it rather than explaining it.

Edit: The video files were too big to upload here but basically my strategy is just get into awakening mode as soon as possible and kill all the captains as soon as you can so more will spawn in and try to keep the mission objectives moving forward. If a captain drops one of those big blue awakening refills I mostly leave it on the ground in case I need it later.

On Owain's gold rush I go to the right to kill three monster captains and then go into awakening mode. Then I kill the remaining monsters and mages around me and move over to the fafnir attacking the villager. Then I deal with Validar and move my way northeast killing all the captains along the way and making sure to kill those gold promoted looking monsters and the fafnir standing in the corner in a giant northern room. Once the Assassins come in you can basically stand in the middle of the map since all the captains starts chasing after you and you should have plenty of things to kill until times up.

On Emmeryn's gold rush I go to the nearest base with the manaketes and kill them and activate awakening mode. Then I deal with Tiki, then Lissa, then the Gold Transporters and then any other captains left and try to keep Awakening on for as long as possible. I mostly just keep moving to whichever captain is closest to me

I was just coming to post about what I was doing and saw the edit: thankfully we have about the same plan, though I stick towards the upper part of the map sometimes.

Also turns out the missing pieces was equipping Galeforce and giving Anna her Awakening 3 crest. I still get a bit below 120k on most runs (usually the sweet spot is ~115k) but I think that's more because I wind up dropping awakening due to lingering in an area too long

Really it's just a shame at most you're looking at ~140k if you were to use the blessing (+sold weapons) and had a perfect run. If the blessing just straight up doubled gains that'd be amazing.

So I'm kind of getting back into the game with doing the History mode...

I'm using Tharja and I realized that she doesn't really build up Awakening..... so from my understanding, you get that from having weapon triangle advantage?

Is there an easy way she and other tome users build Awakening or is she just kind of shit out of luck?
