Fire Emblem: Realms of the Cosmic Mirror - Rebirth (OOC)

The Outrealm Gates. They are an enigma to how other places work. They are gates between world unknown and a common scapegoat for otherworldly conflicts. Zenith used to be the gatekeeper of portals like these, but the numerous factions at war fought until stalemate.

Another quaint and fledgling continent far away east in a different world has no former ties with the two sides of the century-long war. Its name is Levfia, founded by a maiden figure only known as Diana, whose roots can be traced to Archanea. Recently, its towns and villages have been bombarded with foreign forces like that of which the nation of Embla controlled. But strange entities such as elves and mithril have started to trickle in.

A world where a human once disappeared lies in the middle of the conflict. A freak accident with a futuristic machine in a place beyond that of normal reach made it the center of a multiverse larger than the real universe it was only connected to. Recent reports of missing people hasn’t gone unnoticed in a world where carriages and swords have become obsolete.

In the medieval world of Levfia, a happily married couple noticed a few humans in modern attire waking up in the middle of their town with nothing at their side except tools unsuitable for combat. Questioning their untimely appearance, they took them in to take care of them for the time being.

A week passed and the visitors’ foster town was under siege by strange shadows. The modern-day humans, not having any experience of how Levfia works, are hastily trained by the two caretakers to prepare them to fend off the forces ahead.

Thus a new story unfolds, breaking away what was a common conformity of worlds where dragons once roamed free.

Welcome to the renewed edition of Fire Emblem: Realms of the Cosmic Mirror. A lot has changed since its first inception. Its premise of a conflict between multiple universes like Super Smash Bros. and Project X Zone is still the same, but a lot of the mechanics has changed. Main characters from the real world now take control of three other characters in their respective party, 2 from any Fire Emblem continent and countries, 1 from another world. Weapon Ranks, EXP, LV, promotions, classes, etc. have all been reintroduced.

Character Forms:

Spoiler

Terra: OPEN
Fire Emblem: LIMIT ONE
Foreign: OPEN

The whole playable army will be auto-leveled based on a cumulative level average. Units that do not start at Level 1 will be auto-leveled to any number around average ± 3. The Prologue will limit new characters to Level 1.

Any characters that join when the army has at least an level average of a multiple of 5 can receive a Rank Up for one of their weapon ranks for each mutiple (1 for 5, 2 for 10, etc).
As stated in the introduction, most players will have control of 4 characters: one of their own, two sourced from Fire Emblem, and one sourced from a different fictional work.

Please note italicized text are for the templates only and should not be used in your final form.

A. Terra

This form will be used for the main characters who come from the real world.

Unlike the other forms, players have greater stat modification fields by way of a point allocation system. Each main character is granted 10 points in base stats and granted 18 points in base growths.

All characters written by this form will always start as a Civilian, which will automatically promote at Level 3. Classes available for the character upon their promotion from Civilian is based on (other than gender): Physical Description, Character Description, and Background.
Players that join in the Prologue will randomly start with a Umbrella, Stick, Frying Pan, Kneader, or Slack Bow.
After the Prologue, regular E-rank (Bronze weapons, Heal, Fire, Wind, Thunder, Flux, Lightning) weapons will be automatically given to characters when they debut.
All Terra characters have only E Weapon Ranks by default at the initial average level.

(if you want a Jagen or Est, you gain or lose 2 points in base stats while losing or gaining 6 points in growth, respectively)

B. Fire Emblem

This form is for canon Fire Emblem characters, notified in the spreadsheet by the prefix of A###. Each player is limited to 2 characters for their personal party of 4.

Characters are limited to playable characters that appear in the main series (outside of DLC), original characters in the Cipher card game, playable original characters from Heroes, and playable original characters in Warriors, unless under certain conditions. Manga or other adaptation with their own characters are also available for use, but only if they appeared in the Cipher card game.
(Examples of each category: Abel, Randal, Alfonse, Rowan, Al)

All characters must start at their base class when in the player’s hand in their original game (or their closest equivalent in the A-prefix classes available)

A weapon that is the highest-ranked weapon type
A E-ranked weapon of a different weapon type
Either a Herb or another E-ranked weapon
)

C. Foreign

This form is for characters that neither come from the Fire Emblem universe or the RL world.
There are several difference between this form and the Fire Emblem form.
Characters blacklisted currently are antagonists/pure villains. Anti-heros and anti-villains are whitelisted.

Weapons are limited to their own universe that the character comes from (Firaga for Final Fantasy, Thunderbolt for Pokémon), and should be reasonably balanced via progression via cumulative level average and chapters completed. No guns and firearms are allowed in the roleplay.

Signature/named weapons that are personal to the character (Gungnir for any Odin) must be treated as a S-rank weapon.

Classes should be limited to what first-tier classes are available in their own series and the closest Fire Emblem class equivalent. (White Mage/Cleric) or made unique to the character (any species of Pokémon). Weapon ranks are determined by the class selected and will all start at D-rank instead of E-rank.

Name:
Gender:
Home Series:
Starting Level 1?: (should be yes or no)
Boon: (affects base and maximum stats and growth rates)
Bane: (affects base and maximum stats and growth rates)
Class: (monster-based units will always require unique non-changeable classes)
Inventory: (
A home series-originating weapon that adheres to roleplay progression
A compatible non-tome (Fire, Wind, Thunder, Dark, Light) E/D-rank weapon
A Herb
Any temporary stat-boost tonic (Items 010 to 016 in spreadsheet)
)

Lefvia, the Hub Continent:

Spoiler

The initial continent the main characters start on, Lefvia is a continent between the size of real life continents Australia and Europe, leaning towards the smaller side. It is an island nation with no bordering continents. There are two branch island countries, Aliese to the north and Hecatra to the south, housing nations named after the islands themselves. The isthmus in the middle of Lefvia signals a gateway between the two parts of the main landmass. The west side has faced more hardships than the east side, where Jake and Anna’s store is located.

The temple where Diana was said to be buried is located near the strait around Aliese, on the main continent side. A century after the great war in Ylisse, the Shield of Seals ended up in the temple for unknown reasons. Maybe it’s linked to the influx of warriors from other worlds? Nevertheless, with a foreign artifact accidentally in display in the continent, multiple periods of chaos ensued, and now the Anna of the continent has to call for an makeshift army to fend off the intruders closing on her town.

Game Mechanics:

Most calculations are based on Awakening’s formulas. EXP mechanics come from Sacred Stones’s formulas.
RN generation will be single-numbered for all instances except HIT which is 2RN.
Weapon stats and character stats mostly mirrors Awakening and New Mystery of the Emblem’s iterations, there is no weapon weight or constitution.
Reclassing is based on Fates’s version of reclassing, with the Second Seal used to change classses instead of the Heart Seal.
Weapon triangle is a three-level version with rank-based advantage modifiers. Base triangle is the unified Fates version, while tomes branch off into the Trinity of Magic with its own Anima magic sublevel as seen in Radiant Dawn.
Character inventories and character skills both cap at 5 slots.
Permadeath is a near-Casual version, dead units won’t come back until the players are transported to a new world.
Skill mechanics have traits unique to this roleplay: the skills are separated into three “metallic” ranks reachable by AExp, experience that increases by an amount every time a certain skill activates. Most skills in return have their own scrolls, but any unit who wants to learn one must have a corresponding skill rank that is less than or equal to the rank the skill is assigned to in the spreadsheets.

Actions:

Movement
Attack - attack enemy with weapon that specifically targets it
Staff - use ally-targeting staff in range
Item - use a item in the inventory
Inventory - reorder weapons in inventory
Open - use keys to open doors and chests
Trade - exchange weapons and items between two adjacent units, both units may reorder their inventories after transactions
(skill) - applies to skills that activate via commands (Rally skills, Dance, Shove)
Wait - ends the unit’s actions/turn

General Etiquette:

Inactivity won’t do, please post at least 3 times a month.
Don’t make your character from the Terra form self-insert, it’s a general rule of thumb.
GM actions and posts will and always be final. Make sure you conform with the setting and its rules that you currently have at hand before I come every day and post.
All worlds visited should be close to their canon description, only there should be OCs come from the Earth where Kiran comes from.
Please note I may not update every day. Occasionally this can be made up during the weekends.

After the first 4 players are ready for the roleplay's Prologue, the roleplay will commence at 6PM 23 September 2017. Symbolic, isn't it?

Physical Description: A regular mercenary wearing pants and a T-shirt under a blue breastplate. Blue eyes and red hair, wearing a blue bandana to hide his red head. Has little to no muscle mass.
Character Description: A short-tempered man to a fault and often doesn’t like fighting up close and dirty. Arguably his greatest flaw is his little skill and luck he has when using weaponry.
Background: While Jakes are less common than Anna, they still make a great couple. Was born in eastern Levfia and taught himself archery for hunting food. Was founded by Anna as an orphan as a internal strife took away Jake’s parents.

Name: Anna
Gender: Female
Location: Not native to Earth (Levfian)
Physical Description: Like most Anna, dons red hair and eyes, but wears only white and pink. Wears a pink blouse under a white vest and wears a scalloped pink skirt. She’s more of a long-range fighter, so she doesn’t really wear metal armor that much.
Character Description: Recently learned magic from a wandering scholar, most likely descended from Merric. Despite having the usual traits of an Anna such as an obsession with money, she is lazy and rather rude so she refuses to do a lot of work herself.
Background: Born to a lineage of ancestors that once abandoned Valentia. Her ancestors traveled for three months before reaching land. By then Levfia had already had its first towns built. She runs the only shop in the town that she takes care of the homeless humans in but often lets Jake do the work. She remembers the time her grandmother told her about falling into insolvency and strives to not go down the path of poverty.

Can we use OCs for the Fire Emblem and Foreign worlds or just canon characters?

The Fire Emblem and Foreign worlds are limited to canon characters. There are still OC slots available for the real world though.

(Example: Bagon is allowed, but not a Fakémon)

I, uh, think you wanted Nils and not Niles as the bard on the spreadsheet. Anyways, hopefully my attention span can actually focus on something for once because this looks really cool. Stats threw me for a loop with how it was worded, but I still tried and put the total next to the main amount for my own clarity. Anyways, Terra Character. Other characters to come as they get unlocked, probably.

Spoiler

Name: Kyodaina
Gender: Female
Location: Japan
Physical Description: Kyodaina hovers pretty averagely in regards to her height, even while she's not at all the thinnest type of person or the strongest. Her eyes are a blue-green, which pairs quite well with her somewhat diluted purple hair. It's colored if the small bits of red at the base of her hair says anything, though. Beyond that, she normally just wears a simple dress that gets the job done, but her stay has been having her trying to fit herself with various types of armor. She's not sure which type's the best for her, though.
Character Description: Kyodaina's basically the embodiment of easygoing and mellow when one looks at her. The fact she always seems to be at least a little tired and about ready to sleep all the time doesn't seem to make her any more threatening, either. The phrase 'beware the nice ones' is also in full effect with her, considering that she if you manage to agitate her, she gets quite ranty and complainy.
Background: Kyodaina's life before being spirited off to Lefvia was, if one asked her about it, apparently boring to her. But then again, her status as a person who simply laid about and didn't do much probably wasn't helping. Regardless, she was magicked into this world or something (she doesn't know why) and although the new place does interest her, she feels incredibly out of place and does want to get home. She has no idea how, but she'll try.

Base stats and Growth rates confuse me. Do I have set base stats and can I add to them? Same with growth rates.

You have set base stats and growth rates for a class that you can add to. I unintentionally made it a bit hard to understand, which is likely my fault. Luckily Toyotasomi no Miko handled the stats pretty well.

Looked through your data and assigned you these 5 classes.

  1. Pegasus Knight
  2. Cavalier
  3. Myrmidon
  4. Mage
  5. Archer

You also start with a Stick (you also have an E in Lances). A rather passive-aggressive character needs something that keeps balance.

Note: I realized the mistake with the unique Bard class for Nils and changed it. Why did I have that eyepatch dude in mind, I have no idea.

That was a really depressing backstory. Anyways, here's what you've got upon promotion.

  1. Fighter
  2. Mercenary
  3. Knight
  4. Shaman
  5. Priest

I didn't put Barbarian because of his more passive hihikomori personality conflicting with the usual personality of a Barbarian in Fire Emblem. Still on the physical side of things though.

You start with a Frying Pan.

This sounds really cool, I'm not the best at remembering stuff, especially RP's. But I'll try.

Name: Gabriella

Character Description: Gabriella is a party girl, always at the beach, she's a social butterfly that tries to be friend with the most popular. Althought some may call her selfish and overly cocky, she does not care, she's going to be what she wants, and nobody will bring her down.

Weapon Ranks:

Inventory: Assigned Weapon of GM choice, Juice

Tell me if I messed up something.

Everything looks fine. Miracle is a Silver-rank skill so I've put Luck +4 instead. If you don't want that skill, just tell me.

Juice is now Drinking Water because that's the food it was closest to in the docs.

The stats still need tweaking unfortunately. Were you going for a Jagen? Because I only see 8 point allocated for base stats, while the growths doesn't seem like they'd fit the archetype.

To bide time, here's your promote list:

  1. Mage
  2. Troubadour
  3. Cleric
  4. Archer
  5. Wyvern Rider

You start with an Umbrella. I guess we've covered the main three melee weapons in the Weapon Triangle!

@NoahStratos If you check right, Base Stats are 8, Growths are 16, so I was going for an Est. And yeah, Luck +4 is ok.

Oh. In that case, you're over the limit by 2.5 points. Might want to fix that.

Clarification: Growths

Think it's good now

Eh, I'll let it slide.

Making slight changes to the growth points so that it's not so limited.

Keep in mind points for stats are built upon minimal stats given by default.

Small updates:

Finished the main part of the Prologue's map, but I will not spoil anything. Best left for tomorrow or two days later.

The growth rates points have updated recently. I'd revise your player character's growth rates when you can (usually from 12 points to 18 points)

So will we get started or do we need more people?

We're just missing one more.

I don't have much else to say other than the growth points had changed slightly. I might modify it later and shall update the players when I decide it'll be changed again.

Spoiler

Name: Simon (pronounced See-moan)
Gender:Male
Location: Hispaniola (Dominican Republic)
Physical Description: 5'9" (177cm for metric reference) 198 lbs (90 kilograms metric) Black hair, hazel eyes, olive skin. Mostly seen wearing a priest's hat, if anything other than his modest length hair. Usually is seen wearing his priest attire with loafers.
Personality: Being a Catholic priest in such a despondent area of the world, Simon is very caring towards the suffering, and is typically very critical of the rich and powerful. He also is very modest, and is very honest in his devotion to God.
Backstory: Originally from Sinaloa in Mexico, Simon was taken to a mission at a young age to prevent him from falling under the influence of the Sinaloa Cartel run by infamous drug smuggler Joaquin Guzman. Knowing his fate would be better than anyone else he knew from Sinaloa, he knelt down in front of the Virgin Mary and gave thanks to God and Jesus for rescuing him. He then took his studies with the monks seriously and wished to devote his life to doing good things. When the 2010 Haiti Earthquake hit, he went to the Dominican Republic to help out on their side, as the diocese disallowed anyone from going to Haiti itself. Helping to heal the physical and emotional damage of the earthquake, Simon saw the social divisions with in the Dominican Republic and was sickened by them. It was in Santo Domingo that Simon had gained his priesthood, where he served until a white light took him elsewhere during a private prayer in his chamber. Appearing in a new and foreign world, his only words were ones appropriate to the situation: "O, Dios Mio!"

Ok so numbers where never my strength so bare with me.

5 x 9 = 45 | 0.5 x 9 = 4.5

5 x 3 = 15 | 0.5 x 3 = 1.5

5 x 6 = 30 | 0.5 x 3 = 3

5 x 9 = 45 | 0.5 x 9 = 4.5

5 x 5 = 25 | 0.5 x 5 = 2.5

4.5 + 1.5 + 3 + 4.5 + 2.5 = 16

Because MC is an Est she gets a total of 24 points in growths (18+ 6) Which means I can add up to 8 points in growths I think, I did this so I wouldn't screw anything up, please check if this is correct.

This character is okay by me. The only problem is that your Magic growth stat is 20% over the limit.

Here's your promote list:

  1. Monk
  2. Priest
  3. Shaman
  4. Bard
  5. Cavalier

You start with a Kneader. Also had to change your Vulnerary to a Herb since most of the non-food HP and status recovery items are based on Radiant Dawn's data (that Vulnerary would heal 20 HP instead of 10 HP). Not sure if that's okay with you.

In that case, since it was previously 12 points, now it is 18 points, so 6 points I can add.

Whoops. I glossed over that. I put the other 2 points into Res instead. Also, I wasn't sure where Vulnerary stood, thanks for clarifying.
